This looks like a team that is getting better during a difficult stretch, which is encouraging. I still don't think we end up making the tournament due to our non-conference schedule, but I have faith in Archie making a run in the Big Ten Tournament and getting the auto-bid. Which is crazy to think about as an option based on our history there.

(2019) PF Matthew Hurt to Duke

That's only 4, 3 of whom are actually on the team. I just disagree, we need at least one other guard in the 2019 class. And if we get Romeo, we'll probably need 2. And judging by Archie's penchant for 3 guard lineups, whether by necessity or desire, I think he'll end up getting another guard. Hopefully we can find a way to get Hurt-TJD-a guard. -

Meh, we got Schilling now. Advantage IU. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Yeah that makes me sick because UL is going to fall a$$ backwards into Billy Donovan and just keep rolling. You know darn well that's what will happen. -
Wisconsin is going to regret not opening up their coaching search to outside applicants. They could have done a lot better than Greg Gard, and they're going to feel it. All he did was win with Bo's players playing Bo's system, but now that most of those guys are trickling out, he's getting exposed.

It's all about your good wins. We don't have any, and the B1G season won't even give us many good opportunities for them this year. Outside of MSU and Purdue, the conference is terrible.

What do you mean he "believes in good defense?" What coach doesn't? I hate bringing this up, because I like Archie, but look at Dayton's Kenpom defensive rankings under him. You can't look at that data and say he's a good defensive coach, unfortunately. His best defense was in the 40s I think.

3 years until we get back to the peak we reached with Crean. We're not doing anything 2017/2018, next season we'll probably be a tournament team (if we get Romeo), and 2019/2020 we'll have the developed talent enough to compete for a conference title and Sweet 16. After that, we're hoping Archie can lead us farther.

That's called basketball.

Welp now the big schools are going to come calling. Just a matter of time before UCLA, UK, UNC, and MSU pay him visits. -
The issue is neither Hunter or Anderson have the handle to be a guard, so calling them shooting guards is a stretch. That backcourt just doesn't scream 'top 5 of the B1G' to me. If we get Langford then that will change a lot of things, but we can't count on that right now.

Kind of encouraging he doesn't talk to Simi Shittu at all. If he was talking about how great friends he is with he and Garland, I'd be a little more worried. -

I think it's Blue Chips x10. The smaller programs aren't the only ones who "need" to cheat. Programs cheat because they don't want to be left behind. They don't want to be the only school who isn't trying to get ahead. JMO -

You don't need to be all that great to be a one-and-done anymore. -

I just doubt we lose him to anyone but Kansas. If he definitely wants to compete for a championship next year, Kansas is realistically the only school that it's not a stretch to say that's possible. Plus they're Adidas. So it'll probably come down more to if he wants to play close to home or play for a contender. -

Every time I see a video of Romeo Langford, I get a sick feeling at the thought of losing him to Vanderbilt. I hope he can see how much of a need we'll have for a shooter next year. -

I really want this kid, but we'll have to prepare for when those other programs start calling, because it will happen eventually. Can we fight off Kentucky, UNC, UCLA? -

Yes it was a joke. I don't care about any of the media stuff, and wasn't trying to take a shot at anyone, just trying to be funny ha. -

A head coach who isn't good with the media will never be successful here. -

Plenty of time for other schools, including Duke, to get involved then.
