Yeah I don't think he gets fired this year either, no matter what. People need to realize our program has improved since he's gotten here. We missed out on the NCAAT like 5 years in a row, then brings us back in his first 2 years. We may not like the ceiling right now, but he has raised the floor.

My thoughts too but remember Dayton has a very solid program, with or without Archie. FAU was built by Dusty May essentially, and he had them in the Final 4. I'd like to see more out of him too, but to me if he so much as gets back to the NCAAT and wins a game or 2 then I'd sign him immediately.

If he misses the tournament, I could see him retiring early. He's too old for this. He doesn't want the ire of thousands of IU fans calling for his head if he doesn't turn it around. He seems like a good dude, I wanted it to work out even though I was never on board and skeptical from the beginning.

Glad I didn't bother getting Peacock. On that note, if you've got it keep it tuned in to watch Purdue win a road game. They're everything we wish we were right now. Tough, consistent, and most of all: winning.

I guess I should have prefaced it with "allegedly", but to me it has legs since I was first made aware by comments made under articles on ESPN.com back when they were allowed, and then brought up by anonymous message board posters who were VU fans on Rivals at separate times.

Even more than his coaching, I've always been more impressed by his ability to keep secret the fact he knocked up a soccer player at VU and made her get an abortion.

Yeah, and it sucks because now they actually won a title. Before, they'd flap their gums and puff their chest out despite the fact they had never really won anything, other than the split title in 1997. It was easy to point out that glaring weakness on their resume. Plus, OSU had owned them in the 21st century. Guess I'll have to get used to seeing plenty more UM gear up here in northern Indiana.

Not optimistic about road games, so I think we come up short. This is not the Rutgers team of late, however, so escaping with a win is definitely in the realm of possibility. Just get the W any way we can and I'll be happy.

We were also up 1 with 5 seconds left in the half. Regardless, I've never been a fan of fouling at the end of the half. Especially when it's your starters doing the fouling. What if you need those guys to not be in foul trouble toward the end of the game?

Agreed, and it pains me to realize we won't be immune from opt outs whenever we reach a bowl game again. I do think Cig will get us there, but I'd be willing to bet whoever our best player(s) is will sit out of the bowl game to "prepare for the NFL draft". Something has to get fixed, and soon.

I'm really rooting for him at ND. Being up here in the South Bend area makes me root for them to be good so I have a way to catch some good games in person. Mostly though, I'm hoping he kills it at ND so we have a solid selection of coaches to choose from when Woody hangs it up.

Huge hangover after the Kansas game, so I'm just happy we avoided a loss. I've accepted the fact this will be closer to a floor year than a ceiling year for IUBB, and that's ok. We all want Final 4 appearances, but there's no shame in establishing the floor of this program still resulting in a tournament appearance and finishing in the top half of the B1G.

Freakin' sucks. The whole "not built for the tournament" phrase I always hear regarding Purdue isn't holding weight this year. Not when they're beating half of the top 10. This will be their year IMO. Having an injury-proof immovable object at center is basically a cheat code for every other deficiency.

Yes, it's entirely possible. Who you beat is more important than quantity now. We could win 12 more B1G games but if none of those come against Purdue or Illinois then that might not be enough.
