  1. I won't sweat it one bit if we miss out on Queen. He's very good and I want him on IU, but we'll get guys. We didn't even know who Mgbako was until like April of last year. The staff has shown they can get in on kids very quickly and land them. Coaches will get fired at the end of the season and open up recruitments, portal transfer, and maybe we can flip Catchings after all. Sucks to lose a kid you prioritize, but at least it's November and not April 2024.
  2. I hope IU puts up a huge statue of him in front of Assembly Hall. It's long overdue.
  3. Give it a few pages and someone will blame the cops.
  4. The police were called to diffuse a situation. They're not going to leave the scene of an altercation until they're convinced the situation is safely and satisfactorily resolved. That won't happen if MM drives a couple buildings down and is still within view of Taco Bell. For all the cops know, MM is just waiting it out until the cops leave so he can go back and argue or worse. Another factor here is time of day. 2 AM? Go home dude, your night is over. Don't think the cops aren't considering that as well. If I was a cop, I'd be incredibly annoyed an adult is causing this much of a disturbance over what's probably a $10 Taco Bell order, even if he was wronged by incompetent employees.
  5. When he left, how far away did he go? Where did he go? Was it a private business? If it was a private business, were they open? If I'm the cops sent there to diffuse a situation, and MM just drove next door, that doesn't really seem like "leaving" to me.
  6. We could do a lot worse than Fuente IMO. He still has a lot to prove, and would coach like he's got a chip on his shoulder after how the end of his tenure at Virginia Tech went down. The athletic department would have to give him as much latitude as he needs in order to find success though. Admittedly he wouldn't be my first choice, and hiring him wouldn't win the press conference, but I would get on board with it.
  7. I don't think the police escalated anything. They are called to diffuse a situation, which is what they did by giving him multiple opportunities to leave and call it a night. MM chose not to leave.
  8. Hopefully we don't have a kick to the groin on consecutive Fridays.
  9. Do we actually think Fitzgerald would be realistic? That scandal isn't going away, seems like a hurdle to overcome for our athletic department. For the record I'd be on board.
  10. Kane Womack and Paul Chryst should be names that get calls. I think Chryst got shafted at UW. He'd be a home run as far as IUFB is concerned. Randle El would just be a bad idea. Learning how to be a head coach on the fly in the B1G at IU has the potential to be quite rocky. I love the thought of him being involved with the program in some capacity, but as head coach? Seems like a stretch to me.
  11. Dude is just the worst. I liked David Pollack a lot more than McAfee when it comes to Gameday. He can occasionally have good insight and throw out relevant stats, but I still can't get past his general obnoxiousness.
  12. Yeah. I'm glad it isn't more serious, both for his sake and the team's. But I'd be lying if I said this doesn't make it harder for me to root for him. So many stupid decisions, including being needlessly confrontational with law enforcement. Glad no one was physically put in danger though.
  13. New names will pop up in spring after coaching changes and transfers. That includes Fland. This will forever be the death of me getting excited about social media happenings during recruitments. Completely worthless to read too much into follows and such.
  14. I'll add to this, fans need to stay away from attacking Boogie on social media if he ends up at UK. Not just because it's the right thing to do, but we also shouldn't burn bridges with Fland if/when Calipari leaves UK after the 2023/2024 season. If he doesn't get to a Final 4 with this incoming class, they'll run him out of town. With the way the past few seasons have gone at UK, the rails will come off at the first sign of adversity this season, aka losing a few early games.
  15. I'm feeling confident he's ours. He set his commitment date immediately after Liam committed to IU, and that speaks volumes. The week leading up to every recruitment decision follows the same path: feeling confident, uh oh some random guy posts something we don't like so he's going somewhere else, then more tea leaves. A tale as old as time.
  16. Personally, I think Crean and Archie wanted to, but they were prevented by the athletic department. Within 2 years of being at UGA, Crean landed top-5 Anthony Edwards. I doubt he got him for free.
  17. Man I can't even handle this. If we get Boogie, Woodson is freakin making waves in CBB. Feels like we're closer to becoming a big boy program.
  18. So awesome!! From the moment I learned about this kid he was my highest target. The potential dominos to follow after are so exciting too.
  19. So is it halftime of 3:00 PM or 9 PM game? Some of us go to bed at 9:30.
  20. My guess is he deals with major anxiety and depression. If that's the case, I understand the need to just focus on getting your life right.
  21. Don't joke about that. Not funny.
  22. Calipari ensuring he'll never have to go to Assembly Hall. No way he's at UK 4 years from now.
  23. I learned a long time ago 2 things in regards to IUBB recruiting: It's never as good as it seems, and it's never as bad as it seems. The disappointment of the 2014 super class of James Blackmon, Trey Lyles, Cliff Alexander, and Theo Pinson that was floated briefly by Rabjohns as a possibility caused me to temper my expectations from that point forward.
