Love the VO updates. A special athlete and a special person. When his playing days are over I pray we make an immediate spot for him on the bench as an assistant coach. He has been and continues to be and will be in the future a great ambassador of IU Basketball! -

Well done----Hoosierpap. Nice thread. MSU=SCARY. But---they will be young. Hoosiers may be back to back Big Ten champs if TB comes back. -

IMO Troy is graduating and looking to make some $$. If so---sign this guy up and let him back up OG for a year--- then he can take over when OG leaves. I like having someone who can board at a high level. I hope we are hearing about an official visit soon. -
Same here. Somehow I missed this thread. Hope everyone had a Happy Easter----it was beautiful down here in Southern Indiana. HE is risen indeed!

I loved Bielfeldt ---but I would pass here. We have enough players recuperating from injuries and I like our new recruits at guard. Exception--I would jump at the Simon kid from Arizona.

Would be a great pick-up but aren't we guard heavy? Maybe not POINT-guard heavy, huh? -
Keep on postin' Bicep. We need more humor and insight like yours on this site!

NCAA Tournament Final 4 Thread
rebelhoosier848891 replied to Dalton26's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Kansas basketball--yet another underachieving season with all the talent in the world. And----I could not be happier as I cannot stand them. Bye bye Jayhawks! -
For me----TB is the key. We need him back to make deep runs in the BigTen and NCAA next year.

I wouldn't read too much into that meeting. Don't forget Holt is going to a community college in Iowa so he was nearby and is a basketball fan.

NCAA Tournament Final 4 Thread
rebelhoosier848891 replied to Dalton26's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It is the ACC's year. I am rooting for UNC since they beat us. If UNC doesn't win----put me down for Virginia. Stop Kansas---can't stand them! -
I was ready to lead the coaching search at the end of last season and post-Maui and Duke. But--Crean has earned some more time in my book. He has brought the program back to perennial contender in the Big Ten (2 titles) and 3 sweet 16's in 5 years. The academics are great and we beat more ranked teams than anyone thanks to our tremendous home court advantage. We are also near the tops each year in many offensive categories and recruiting is solid. He will be chosen for several conference and national coach of the year awards from other coaches and people in the know and it is not clear there is a better alternative at this point willing to take the position. But---most important to me---I saw IMPROVEMENT this year in his coaching especially with all the injuries we had. We are trending up and as long as we see improvement---let's keep moving up. He's earned a couple more seasons in my book to get us to that next elite level with the UNC's and Kansas's of the world. If he can't do it--then we make a change. My 2 cents.

If college basketball programs were countries
rebelhoosier848891 replied to Magnanimous's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Well said----our awesome queen. We have a great new group of warriors coming in to train for next year's wars---and our warrior development program is second to none. If most of our key fighters stay---we will be back and better than ever next year! -
Hats off to the seniors-----Yogi, Max, Z3, and Burton. I will miss Yogi's leadership and Z's key threes. And----Max ends up being one of my all time favorites. He may have started as a Wolverine but he ended as a true Hoosier. Even as the game wound down tonight he was still out there busting threes and rebounding. And tonight may be the last time we see Troy as a Hoosier. If so---at least we saw Good Troy his last half of basketball. Don't be bitter Hoosier Nation. After we have had some time to reflect on the season--I think we will all realize how well we did under the circumstances---especially with all the key injuries. As much as I disliked Crean at the end of last season---I respect the job he did this season with this team under tough circumstances. He has earned the right to coach this team for now. If TB comes back ---which I think he will-----IU will be very good again next year. We are getting ready to add to our length, speed, and athleticism next year which we saw we need against the elite teams. If we can reel in Thon or a great graduate transfer (I am a fan of these now after getting Z3 and Max)----we are poised to get past the sweet 16 next year. Go Hoosiers!

IU(5) vs UNC(1) Game Thread
rebelhoosier848891 replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Let's be honest---------we were already overmatched when we started the game and when they hit 3-pointers like that neither we nor any other team are going to beat them. Hats off to the Tar Heels. They were the better team tonight. Proud of my Hoosiers all the same. Happy Easter everyone! -

Queen O has issued a decree that all of IU/Francaisland must drink from the chalice of Red KoolAid------filled with Mountain Dew Code Red--- so the warriors of our great kingdom will be wired up and fired up to do battle with the mighty Tarheels. We are beat up and dinged up. They are bigger than us. They are stronger than us. They are faster than us. They have more stars after their names. They are the number one seed. But WE ARE HOOSIERS. A band of brothers who together are stronger as a team than our individual parts. We may be bruised----but we are not broken. We will not go quietly into the night. We will not go down without a fight. WE ARE HOOSIERS! I am calling it----OUI will find a way to win! Viva La Francais! Viva La IU!
