Assembly Hall renovation: August
rebelhoosier848891 replied to RBB89's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Keep us updated! Can't wait to see the finished product! -
Good for Spike and good for Purdue.. I just didn't think he was a good fit for our backcourt. I hope I don't regret that opinion next year!

No surprise if it happens----I continue to wish Troy the best

Happy Mother's Day Hoosier Nation! Just spent the day with my mom---a true Hoosier Fan. It was great to walk down memory lane and laugh about all the good times we have had over the years. I love her as she helped shape who I am today. Thanks mom for always being there for me! Humor---A reporter asked a mother if she had it to do all over again would she still have kids? The mother responded yes---absolutely---just not the ones I ended up with!

Harrison Niego Appreciation Thread
rebelhoosier848891 replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
As long as Niego is happy----I am happy for him. Sounds like he wanted instant playing time. -
Alright---Troy gets a chance to show his STUFF! It's a shame Yogi is just an alternate---but at least Troy will get a chance to shine!

FS: Calbert Cheaney bball card
rebelhoosier848891 replied to southsidehoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
The Big Ten's All-Time leading scorer. I've got a bunch of his cards too---brings back sweet memories. You might want to hold on to his--Calbert just might be the old ball coach someday at IU! -
Not reading much buzz about Troy in NBA write-ups---could be heading overseas. I think he's gone but would love to have him back one more year. Sure seems like someone would take a flyer on him. A HIGH flyer! He brought us some of the most memorable dunks in Hoosier history---and in high volume!

Yogi Ferrell Appreciation Thread
rebelhoosier848891 replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Just an ALTERNATE to the NBA combine as an All-American? NO RESPECT! Someone is going to get a competitor with a late pick and I think they will be pleasantly surprised and have a hard time keeping him off the floor. Just my two cents! -
No harm in looking----heck if they would invite and evaluate me---- I would go too!

2016 (F) Freddie McSwain Jr. to IU
rebelhoosier848891 replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Welcome to the Hoosiers Freddie! I know this means Troy is probably gone----but I like this pick-up---helps balance the classes and gives us another mature player up front. How's the air up there???? The slam dunk contest at Hysteria just got more competitive! -
2016 (F) Freddie McSwain Jr. to IU
rebelhoosier848891 replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Watching this closely----I still think Troy makes this decision by his decision. -
Anymore Spike sightings in Btown?
-
Tick tock.....a decision must be coming soon.

I still can't help but to root for DD after all he has been through. Hope he does well.

(2016) PF De'Ron Davis to IU
rebelhoosier848891 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Enough with the injuries already! Hope this wrist injury is minor. I can't wait to see what De'Ron will add to the team! -
Hmmm. Not a big fan of this move if it occurs---but Crean does love to bring in strong leadership transfers. I know Spike is an Indiana kid and I don't want to see him end up at Purwho---but it seems there are better options out there. If we were going to do this--why not just bring in Eron Gordon for more long-term upside?

(2016) PG Devonte Green to INDIANA
rebelhoosier848891 replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
We need to get Green's NLI ---"Signed, Sealed, and Delivered". Go Hoosiers! -
Put me in the "I THINK HE'S GONE--BUT HOPE HE"S NOT" camp!

IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?
rebelhoosier848891 replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I want him back--but I think he's gone. He may have been inconsistent--but he led us to wins we would not have had without him. He and Yogi were the only two who could consistently break down defenses and get to the hoop and at least draw fouls late in games. Troy shot a ton of free throws. We will also miss his rebounding. He and Bryant were basically tied in boards. I will also miss his sportscenter highlight plays---which he seemed to turn in at least one per game. We will support you in whatever you decide Troy----but ask Yogi---sometimes it's worth it to come back for that senior year. Banner #6 has to be tempting! -
IU Basketball: Who is leaving? Who is staying?
rebelhoosier848891 replied to IndyHutch's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Troy is like Nuclear Energy---if you can ever harness the power----it can certainly be used for good! I would love to see him come back as I believe he HAS improved his game every year----and can you just imagine if "GOOD TROY" showed up ALL the time? Talk about sending fear and panic throughout the Big Ten! I would much rather have Troy over a JUCO player. -
PITT Transfer Josh Newkirk is headed to IU!
rebelhoosier848891 replied to Sam_Boger's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I am not sure Newkirk will be a starter ----but I think he will give us MANY solid minutes. Remember---right at the end of his Pitt career his 3-point shot was coming along and he had a stretch where he hit like 6 or 7 three-pointers in a row toward the end of his time there. Can't wait to see his improvement. -
Walk-On Harrison Niego is moving on as he is hoping to earn a D1 scholly at another school. I think this is a good decision by him as our guard situation is about to get crowded and competitive with scholarship players. Let's let him know we appreciated all his effort and hard work during his time as a Hoosier. He helped us get through all the injuries and gave us some valuable minutes. He is worthy of a separate appreciation thread!

Best wishes to Niego! He worked hard and gave us some valuable minutes. I hope he lands a D1 offer.
