He was just 2-4 on FT but the 2 he made came with 24 sec. remaining in the game and made it 49-46. FWIW, it will be very easy to dislike Fletcher Loyer for the next 4 years at West Laffy. Tuesday's non-conference game between Indiana and Wright State has been canceled due to COVID-19 implications resulting from positive cases within Wright State's tier one individuals. The game will not be made up between the two programs. Ticket holders will receive further information from the ticket office in regards to today's event. The No. 8/7 Hoosiers will close out non-conference play on Thursday, Dec. 23 at 1 p.m. ET against SIU.

A bevy of big-name non-conference opponents are followed by a loaded Big Ten schedule, as the Indiana baseball program announced its 2022 schedule on Tuesday (December 21). The Hoosiers will square off with five programs that were on the Road to Omaha in 2021, with College World Series qualifier Stanford, Arkansas, Indiana State, Nebraska and Michigan all making the NCAA Tournament field a season ago. Perineal postseason teams Clemson, Louisiana-Lafayette, Missouri State and Troy also dot the schedule. The season begins with seven straight games away from home. A three-game series at Clemson (Feb. 18-20) kicks off the year, before a midweek contest at Miami (Ohio) on February 22. Then the Hoosiers head to Texas for the Round Rock Classic (February 25-27) at Dell Diamond. In Round Rock, IU will face 2019 College World Series qualifier Arkansas, Louisiana-Lafayette and 2021 CWS participant Stanford. A midweek contest against the Redhawks on March 1 will open the home portion of the schedule, before a trip to Missouri State (March 4-6). Home games with Cincinnati (March 8) and Purdue Fort Wayne (March 9) come just before the final non-conference weekend road series at Troy (March 11-13). After starting the season with 13 of 16 on the road, IU will play its next 12 at home, including the Big Ten opening series. A home contest with Kentucky (March 15) will be followed by a four-game set with Xavier (March 18-20). A visit from Indiana State on March 22 will be followed by back-to-back weekend home series. After hosting Evansville (March 25-27) for three games, Northwestern (April 1-3) comes to Bart Kaufman Field for the B1G opener. Most of April will be spent on the road, as trips to Purdue (April 9-10) and Rutgers (April 15-17) bookend a trip to Indiana State (March 12). A trip to the Queen City to take on Cincinnati (April 20) comes ahead of a home series with 2021 Big Ten champion Nebraska (April 22-24). Indiana returns to Victory Field for a tilt against Butler on April 26 and treks to Illinois State on April 27. A home series with Illinois (April 29-May 1) is followed by a trip to Ann Arbor, Michigan, to take on the Wolverines (May 6-8). After traveling to Louisville (May 10), the Hoosiers welcome Minnesota (May 13-15) for the final home weekend series of the season. Comment on Queen from the City of Palms Classic -- While Derik Queen of Montverde may not wow you on the stat sheet because of the talent on his team, you can see flashes of what he can do. I saw him at the NBPA Top 100 Camp back in July where he was the only kid in the 2024 class that got an invite. He has a big, strong frame that he utilizes to play bully ball. He also moves really well for his size. He will take on a much bigger role for Montverde when their stellar class of 2022 graduates.

Comment on Jalen from the City of Palms -- Jalen Hood-Schifino had a solid game with Mike Woodson and staff in attendance. The Indiana signee plays under control and never tries to do too much. He is just the type of floor general that a team full of star power like Montverde needs.

2022 schedule released today. The Hoosiers are scheduled to play a total of 17 games at Andy Mohr Field, starting the weekend of Mar. 5-6. On the road, Indiana will play the defending national champions Oklahoma as well as 2021 Women's College World Series participant Florida State. The 50-game regular season schedule begins Friday, Feb. 11 in Boca Raton, Fla., with the "First Pitch" Classic, hosted by Florida Atlantic. Indiana will play Louisville and Florida Atlantic to open the season on Feb. 11 and have games against Bethune Cookman and Northern Illinois as well. The Hoosiers make a return trip to the Sunshine State for the Unconquered Invitational Feb. 25-27, hosted by Florida State in Tallahassee, Fla. Indiana will play two games against the Seminoles and three against Hofstra. The Hoosiers home opener comes on Mar. 5 against Valparaiso. Indiana will play two games against Valparaiso and two games against Western Illinois that weekend.
