  1. In the City of Palms Classic, Fayette County beaten by Westlake 60 - 59. Banks with 17 pts; 7 reb.
  2. St. Mary's 56-46 over Parkway. I had Parks with 15 pts. on 6-8 FG; 3-4 FT; 5 reb; 3 asst; 3 stl; 2 blk; 1 TO. Parkway doubleteamed him almost every time he touched the ball and he drew a number of fouls. He also demonstrated he's not afraid to get floor burns on a couple of occasions when the ball was lose on the floor.
  3. Peoria Notre Dame (7-1) over IVC 48-20. Game was on YouTube if you're interested. Total mismatch from the opening tipoff. I had Koch with 10 pts; 2 reb; 4 asst; 4 stls; 1 blk; 0 TO.
  4. Bossi on today's Montverde game in the City of Palms Classic specifically on Kwame Evans -- ...Evans is ranked among the top five in 2023 and can be inconsistent. At Montverde he's toughened up, found a balance of playing inside and hunting deep jumpers but what is most impressive is his defensive versatility. It is hard to put into writing the things he's capable of but each time out he makes a few wow plays. He had three steals and two blocks to go with his 10 points and six rebounds in just under 16 minutes.
  5. Bossi on today's Montverde game in the City of Palms Classic Just a week ago, powerful Montverde (Fla.) Academy lost at the buzzer to Duncanville (Texas) High. If there were any worries about a hangover in their next event, they ended them quick on Saturday. They jumped all over a talented Lilburn (Ga.) Berkmar team early and cruised home to a 76-51 victory. With five players scoring between 10 and 16 points, it is hard to lock in on just one guy but we'll go with Indiana bound guard Jalen Hood-Schifino, Texas bound wing Dillon Mitchell and five-star junior four man Kwame Evans because of how versatile each of them is defensively. Hood-Schifino is going to arrive at Indiana physically ready to compete in the Big Ten. He's a smart player who can play all three perimeter spots and he has a calming influence. His three ball has been dropping the last few times we've seen him play and that's encouraging. The one thing that Hood-Schifino is always going to do, though, is defend. That commitment to locking up will endear him to Mike Woodson and staff quickly. He finished with 16 points, six rebounds and a pair of assists. When it comes to Mitchell, he may have the most potential as a wing defender of any player in the class of 2022. He's freaky athletic finishing at the rim but he's every bit as impressive with his lateral quickness and ability to be in the right place at the right time. He finishes lobs, crashes the glass and is a dangerous straight line driver. If he gets his jump shot ironed out, the sky is the limit for him in college and beyond. Finally, Evans is ranked among the top five in 2023 and can be inconsistent. At Montverde he's toughened up, found a balance of playing inside and hunting deep jumpers but what is most impressive is his defensive versatility. It is hard to put into writing the things he's capable of but each time out he makes a few wow plays. 6. Montverde participating in the City of Palms Classic and today beat Berkmar (GA) 74 -48. Hood-Schifino had 16 pts. and Kwame Evans 10 pts. That's the only stats I've seen thus far.

They are led by a quartet of sophomores with guard Lauren Ross averaging 20.8 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. Forward Taylor Williams leads on the glass with 8.5 boards per game and chipping in 13.3 points per outing. SERIES HISTORY Indiana leads 9-4 LAST MEETING 12/4/93 – W, 95-68 (Bloomington, Ind.) NOTES Junior forward Mackenzie Holmes was named the Big Ten Player of the Week on Monday thanks to her back-to-back scoring efforts against Fairfield and at No. 20 Ohio State. The leading scorer in both wins, Holmes averaged 26.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 blocked shots and shot 75.9 percent from the floor to claim her second Big Ten Player of the Week award this season and the third of her career. The Hoosiers will play three games in five days to wrap up non-conference play beginning on Sunday. The Hoosiers hold a 6-2 record against non-league opponents, playing three ranked opponents in that span. In its last three games, Indiana has posted 20+ point victories in all three outings and held opponents to just 54.7 points per game on 36.0 percent shooting. During that stretch, it has averaged 82.3 points per game while shooting 56.9 percent from the floor and 40 percent from 3-point range. Holmes also joined the 1,000-point club against Ohio State and became the third active player to reach the milestone, joining graduate senior guard Ali Patberg and senior guard Grace Berger. It's the second time in school history that the roster has featured a trio of 1,000-point scorers – last time in 2016 when Tyra Buss, Amanda Cahill and Alexis Gassion all added their names to the list. UP NEXT Indiana continues its non-conference homestand with Wright State on Tuesday night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
  11. Peoria Notre Dame over Normal West 66 - 51. Fortunately I was able to watch a stream of the game because you'd never know what happened from the Peoria Journal Star. But I digress. First time I've seen Koch play and I thought he runs the court very well. He's active on the offensive end and I thought there were times he could have easily made a move to the bucket but opted to pass it out to an open teammate. I had him with 18 pts. on 6-10 FG; 2-4 on 3s; 4-4 FT; 5 reb; 3 asst; 2 stl; 1 blk; 1 TO.
  12. More on Meister's game over Faribault. Her 27 pts. were on 10-12 FG; 1-2 on 3s; 6-12 FT; 9 reb; 2 asst; 6 stl; 3 blk; 1 TO. She's just 4 games into her current season but here's how she's doing: 23.5 ppg; 12 rpg; 2 asst; 3 stl; 2 blk; 3 TO. She's shooting 62% FG; 38% on 3s; 71% FT.
  13. Still think he's more likely to play college football but Tae Johnson of Fort Wayne North Side playing some pretty good bball. 30 points, 21 boards, 7 assists, 3 blocks in an 81-60 victory over FW Snider.
  14. Game stats for his game against Northmont. 8 pts. on 3-9 FG; 1-2 on 3s; 3-3 FT; 2 reb; 6 asst; 4 stl; 3 TO.
  15. Heritage Hills 60 -51 over Crawford County. The trend continues for Trent Sisley 1st Game 11 points 2nd Game 12 points 3rd Game 18 points 4th Game 26 points 5th Game 27 points
  16. John Marshall wins 70-44 over Faribault. Meister led the way with 27 pts and 9 rebs.
  17. Centerville with a 66 -25 win over Northmont; running clock commenced in the 4th Q. It was 25-18 at the half and Centerville blew the game open in the 3rd and led 52-24 after 3 Qs. Cupps picked up 2 1st Q fouls and his 3rd foul early in the 2nd Q. Don't think he played but 8 or 9 minutes in that half and probably only about 12 or13 in the 2nd half. Both teams played a full court man-to-man defense and I think Cupps only had 2 TOs. Seems to have a pass first mentality and sees the court very well. His team is patient and keeps the ball constantly moving. Cupps' passes are sharp and crisp. He's a righthanded shooter but he threw several cross court lefthanded passes that were right on target. I'll post his complete stats tomorrow morning.
  18. Carmel 45 North Central 41. This is what @Coach _Ya saw tonight. Sam Orme 20pts, 9rebs Joey Brown 14pts, 5rebs
  19. Raby: Indiana assistant @Coach_Ya is here at Carmel tonight. Among the players on Indiana’s radar are Carmel 2023 forward Sam Orme and North Central 2023 guard Joey Brown.
  20. Comments from On The Radar Hoops following the Hawks-Naismith Holiday Classic played last weekend and tie back to the above post and his near triple double. Also my first extended look at Wilson and the superlatives are many for a player this young, what immediately jumps out is his unselfishness and willingness to make the pass over forcing a bad or contested shot, his head is constantly on a swivel looking for the right play and while he’s likely still growing and surely will fill out a wiry frame it’s still a lot to handle even for a freshman, when he does go on the offensive the foot speed and lateral movement are still on the come but the creativity and ability to use his height and length near the basket make him tough to stop in close, had 11 rebounds and 5 blocks against Mt Pisgah and those are areas where his natural gifts allow him to clearly already excel, every bit the top 5 player in the class he was advertised to be.

  22. Indiana women's basketball head coach Teri Moren has announced the addition of Yarden Garzon to this year's signing class. Garzon joins Lilly Meister, Lexus Bargesser and Henna Sandvick in the class of 2026. Garzon, a Ra'anana, Israel native, is rated as a 4-star recruit by Premier Basketball Report who averaged 14.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game for Maccabi Ironi Ramat Gan. She's shooting 45.1 percent from the field, 43.8 percent from 3-point and 94.1 percent at the free throw line. She also has extensive experience with the Israel National Team. At the 2021 U20 European Challengers, she averaged 19.2 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 1.8 steals and 2.0 blocks per game. Most recently, she joined the Israel Senior National Team at the EuroBasket 2023 qualifiers in November 2021 where she was in the starting lineup against Latvia and scored 16 points and four rebounds. Teri Moren on Yarden Garzon "We have been recruiting Yarden for a couple of years. Yarden has competed at a high level in Israel, playing with and against multiple WNBA players. She is one of the top players in Europe, and she has proven that against elite competition. Yarden's versatility as a 6-2 guard is impressive. She is an excellent shooter and rebounds at a high level, all while running the point guard position. We are excited about her future as a Hoosier."
