In a game that was over at the opening tip, Frederica (15-5) with an 82-41 rout of Bulloch Academy (0-17). The Frederica starters sat out the entire second half. In very limited action I had Jobe with 10p 3r 1s 1b. I watched a replay and had advanced the replay to the moment both teams took the floor for the opening tip. The Bulloch center made no green beans whatsoever and a couple of the Bulloch players looked better suited to the Tuesday night over 40 men's bowling league. The replay had no audio but less than 2 min. into the game Bulloch made a line change and the lightbulb went on that it was senior night and it was Bulloch's seniors that started the game. Frederica's regular season ends this Friday and tournament play begins next week.

Jamie Shaw from Day 2 of the Montverde Academy Inv. Tour. - This was a complete game for Queen as he showcased different pieces of his vast skill set. In the first half, Queen started on the block. He set up big, showed patience and footwork, and finished with both hands around the basket. Queen showed perimeter skills in the second half as he initiated offense and knocked down a three. Queen is one of the nation’s top prospects in his class. Every one of his team-high 12 points showed why tonight. Recruitment: Mentions DePaul, Indiana, and Texas, among others. He will start visiting schools his junior season.

Those of you that follow the IUWBB program do you think we'll have a game against Minny Thursday night or is the impending snowstorm likely to cause it to be postponed? The latest numbers I've seen indicate 5"-11" before it ends. -

St. Mary's doesn't get a lot of newspaper coverage and they don't report stats to MaxPreps. The following were published in The Daily Standard for Parks thru 11 games (he's played at least 14) -- 16.3 ppg on 61% FG; 7.2 rpg; 3.2 apg. -

Class of '66 Old Fart replied to Hoosierfan31's topic in Indiana Women's Basketball
Junior forward Mackenzie Holmes was named to the John R. Wooden Wooden Award presented by Wendy's Late Season Top 20 watch list, announced by the Los Angeles Athletic Club on Monday night. Chosen by a poll of national college basketball experts based on their performances during the 2021-22 season thus far, the list comprises of 20 student-athletes who are front-runners for the sport's most prestigious honor. Holmes is Indiana's leading scorer this season, averaging 17.9 points, 8.2 rebounds, 1.9 blocks and shooting 61.5 percent from the floor in 14 games. The Gorham, Maine native leads the way with three double-doubles this season and has 3-point range to her game by shooting 45.5 percent on the season. She was named a preseason All-Big Ten selection, The Athletic Preseason All-American honorable mention, Lisa Leslie Award preseason watch list and Wooden Award midseason top 25 honoree. She has been sidelined for Indiana's last two games with a knee injury. The players on the list are considered strong candidates for the 2022 John R. Wooden Award Women's Player of the Year presented by Wendy's. Players not chosen to the late season list are still eligible for the Wooden Award™ National Ballot. The National Ballot consists of 15 top players who have proven to their universities that they meet or exceed the qualifications of the Wooden Award. Nearly 1,000 voters will rank in order 10 of those 15 players when voting opens prior to the NCAA Tournament and will allow voters to take into consideration performance during early round games. The Wooden Award All American Team™ will be announced the week of the "Elite Eight" round of the NCAA Tournament. The winner of the 2022 John R. Wooden Award will be presented by Wendy's following the NCAA Tournament in April. The wonders of Google. I was searching for info on an ugly brawl that occurred tonight at a high school game in D. C. and Google brought up the 1972 brawl that took place between Minnesota and Ohio State perhaps the ugliest incident in college basketball history. https://www.dispatch.com/story/sports/2022/01/23/1972-ohio-state-basketball-brawl-minnesota-dave-winfield-luke-witte/6553737001/
