  3. Let's hope this game isn't nearly as heart pounding as the earlier game at West Laffy. In-state rivals meet for the second time this season as No. 5/6 Indiana hosts Purdue on Sunday inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Tipoff is set for 1 p.m. ET. #5/6 INDIANA (15-3, 7-1 B1G) VS. Averaging 70.8 points per game, Purdue is also looking to correct a three-game skid coming into Sunday's matchup. SERIES HISTORY Purdue leads 53-37 LAST MEETING 1/16/22 – W, 73-68 (OT) (West Lafayette, Ind.) NOTES A 14-0 run in the final 4:42 of play helped lift the Hoosier to victory over Minnesota on Thursday night, 80-70. 4. Frederica beaten by Hope Christian Academy 53-48. I had Jobe with 16p 5r 2a 1s 2b 2t
  5. Z-Man, Nick Zeisloft in the house today.
  6. Officials: Bo Boroski, Courtney Green, Donnie Eppley
  7. Mt. St. Joseph 73-57 win over St. Vincent Pallotti. Tucker 25p 11r 6a 1b
  8. Peterson with 26 pts. in a 52-47 win over Manchester. From his coach: "We are led offensively by Darryn Peterson," Futch said. "I've had some phenomenal freshmen, and this kid is special. ... He is going to play at the next level. Darryn is, in my opinion and I am sure other coaches who have seen him would agree, he is a true candidate for Mr. Basketball." CVCA (12-6, 8-2) is tied with Northwest (10-7, 8-2) atop the PAC standings.
  9. St. Mary's (10-6) with a 70-51 win over Elida (3-14). Parks 20 pts. This was St. Mary's 5th win in a row.
  10. Senior night for Banks as Fayette County's (17-8) regular season ends with a 73-65 win over Riverdale (7-15). Banks finished with 24p 16r 3a 3stl 2blk. Game was butt ugly as neither team played particularly well. Fast paced and helter skelter with lots of sloppy turnovers by both teams.
  11. Supposedly Centerville vs. Fairmont will be available on YouTube at 5:00. Centerville #1 and Fairmont #5 in the state rankings. A later tweet from Centerville indicates varsity game at 7:30.
  12. Richmond (19-1) with an 84-59 win over Lee County (3-15). McNeil with 29 pts. and 13 reb. His 29 pts. included 6-3s.
  13. St. Stephen's and St Agnes spoiled senior night for Georgetown Prep with a 66-60 win. Rooths with 19 was the leading scorer for GPrep.
  14. Interesting McCullough development. https://footballscoop.com/news/nfl-new-york-giants-notre-dame-deland-mccullough-marcus-freeman
  15. Geez! I'm sorry I ever posted the original story. Nothing's going to happen. It's going to disappear into Neverland.
  16. Watched 2 more games. First was an 83-78 loss at Triway where those officials made the Kohl Center crew look amateurish. They called a ticky-tack foul on Peterson less than a minute into the game and then on his next 2 drives to the bucket, he got mugged so badly the Corleone family would have been proud and he got no call. He fouled out in the 4th with 3:30 left on a foul that was actually on a teammate but he was gone. Finished with 31 pts. on 8-19 FG; 5-8 on 3s; 10-11 FT; 15 reb; 6 assts; 4 stl; 0 blk; 1 TO. Next game was a 60-41 win over Akron East. Scored 25 pts on 9-15 FG; 1-3 on 3s; 6-6 FT; 9 reb; 3 asst; 6 stl; 3 blk; 2 TO. So for 3 games I watched -- yes, a small sample -- he averaged 27 pts on 57% FG; 57% on 3s; 91% FT; 11 reb; 4 asst; 5 stl; 2 blk; 1 TO. I think Peterson is the real deal. He's very smooth, good ball handler, can finish with either hand and has a high motor. He's going to be in high demand.
  17. His full stat line for the above game. Scored his 34 pts in 36 min. of play. 12-19 FG; 3-7 on 3s; 7-8 FT; 7 reb; 7 asst; 4 stl; 1 blk; 2 TO. For 13 games he's averaging 21.6 ppg on 50% FG; 38% on 3s; 68% FT; 9.2 reb; 7.1 asst; 2.1 stl; .6 blk; 4.6 TO.
  18. No great surprise. Keyarah Berry (5-9 FR guard, Rockmart, GA) has entered her name into the portal, out of Indiana WBB; she had parted ways with the team about three weeks ago
  19. I would agree that the pandemic was a major factor but also what if it had been someone like the king of STD's Isaac Haas?
