(2025)- Trent Sisley to INDIANA
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Really appreciate the responses from @ArchieNoMo and @Lebowski. Great when we can get first hand reports and sounds a lot like just growing pains of a freshman playing varsity ball. Thanks again. -
Why does every freakin' game we play have to be a must win game? Why can't we ever have a game that's just a who gives a rat's patootie? Penn State just (8-8) (3-5) but they've beaten us once. If we don't play with some real green beans tomorrow night, they'll be (9-8) and (4-5) and I don't want to think about it. Radio Live Stats

Mt. St. Joseph (11-5) defeated Loyola Blakefield (4-6) 70-57. I had Tucker with 26 pts. on 11-16 FG; 2-3 on 3s; 2-3 FT; 3 reb; 2 asst; 0 stl; 0 blk; 0 TO. All but one of his 2-point FG attempts was a jump shot in the 10-15' range with most coming off his dribble. He made only one drive to the basket but it was a nice move and he finished with his left hand. I've not found any consistent reporting of his game stats. For 15 games, he's averaging 19 ppg and thru 11 games he's averaging 6 rpg and 3 apg.

On Coach Moren's radio show tonight she said everyone's through COVID protocol and available. They're hopeful to get Mackenzie back in February. -

(2023) - SF Kwame Evans
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
From Rob Cassidy - The No. 4 prospect in the 2023 class, KJ Evans is as in-demand as almost any junior in the county. The Montverde Academy star holds a number of offers and an even longer list of schools interested in his services. Not all involved schools stand on level footing, however. Last week, Rivals.com caught up with the 6-foot-9 forward to get the latest on where things stand as they relate to his recruitment. ON VISITS HE HOPES TO TAKE “Definitely Indiana and Oregon. With my man Jalen [Hood-Schifino] going to Indiana, I definitely want to check that out.” ON INDIANA “I know Coach [Mike] Woodson is there and he teaches, like, an NBA system. That could help me understand that faster, so that’s good. It helps you. It helps know what the NBA needs and wants.” ON WHAT HOOD-SCHIFINO SAYS ABOUT IU “He says it’s really nice. We just went to Indiana recently to go play and it was nice, but it was a little cold. I’m from Baltimore. It’s cold there, but it’s not too cold. Not cold like Indiana was.” ON OTHER SCHOOLS IN THE MIX “Oregon definitely. I’ve always liked them. It helps that Nike is right there and I like their stuff. Also, they’ve been talking to me a lot. They’re really prioritizing me. Also, Texas.” ON OREGON HEAD COACH DANA ALTMAN “I talked to him recently actually. He’s a good guy. I haven’t had the chance to watch him really coach, but I like him. I just want to get to know him more.” ON TEXAS “They came and saw me at practice, and Dillon [Mitchell] tells me a lot about them. I like what I know about Texas but I want to go see it and know more.” ON WHAT KIND OF SYSTEM BEST SUITS HIM “I play positionless. I can play anywhere. I can bring the ball up or play underneath. I shoot the ball well and play defense. I can handle the ball well, too, so I think I fit in a positionless system. I’m working on getting even better at ball handling because I’m tall, so guys come in under me, so I’m working on guarding against that.” RIVALS REACTION – Evans’ desire to visit both Texas and Indiana stems at least partly from his relationships with teammates Dillon Mitchell and Jalen Hood-Schifino, who are signed with the Longhorns and Hoosiers respectively. The interest in both programs seems real, but Oregon should still be seen as the early favorite to land the five-star wing. Serious threats to the Ducks will become clearer as Evans’ visit itinerary takes shape in the year ahead. -
(2025)- Trent Sisley to INDIANA
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Quite the contrast in games. Friday night HH defeated Southridge 64-50. Sisley with 31 pts. on 13-15 FG; 1-2 on 3s; 4-4 FT; 7 reb; 2 asst; 0 stl; 1 blk; 3 TO. @ArchieNoMo have you actually watched any of his games? In the Castle game and a couple of others his TO numbers were pretty ugly and I'm curious if there's a particular cause, i.,e, bad passes, traveling, poor dribbling? -

Great Lakes Region -
Holy Innocents (6-7) beaten by Greater Atlanta Christian (13-3) 69-57. Wilson had 32 pts on 14-23 FG; 2-4 on 3s; 2-2 FT; 7 reb; 2 asst; 1 stl; 0 blk; 3 TO. Almost all of his baskets were jump shots with several of the turnaround step back variety. He rarely attacked the basket off the dribble. IMO he played passive defense and really didn't challenge shots at the rim. He's listed as 6'7" and 190 lbs and looked skinny against the opposing team. His MaxPreps stats have not been updated since the end of December. At that time through 8 games he was averaging 16.1 ppg; 10.4 rpg; 3.9 apg.

(2023) F/C Austin Parks to Ohio State
Class of '66 Old Fart replied to Gnet550's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Last night St. Mary's Memorial (7-6) knocked off previously unbeaten Upper Scioto Valley (13-1) 53-35. It was like seeing a completely different SMM team on the floor. They didn't make careless TOs, they defended and they shot the ball reasonably well. Parks probably played no more than 25 min. due to foul trouble. SMM led throughout but iced the game with a 14-4 run over the last 3:30 of the game. Parks finished with 12 pts. on 4-6 FG; 4-5 FT; 7 reb; 4 asst; 1 stl; 0 blk; 2 TO. He actually attempted 2 jump shots making one of them and showed a nice little left handed jump hook. He didn't try to force his way to the basket and made some very nice passes to cutters for easy layups. -

I don't actively follow football recruiting but saw this. Breaking: Indiana lands commitment of 2022 quarterback Brendan Sorsby (@BrendanSorsby). He breaks down his commitment, impression of Indiana and what he’ll bring to the IU program. #iufb "Having a staff believe in you is the greatest feeling.” Sorsby is from Lake Dallas, TX.
