Arkansas Little Rock lost earlier today and we're down to 5 unbeaten teams: Sparty, Oklahoma, Xavier, SMU and South Carolina.

Big blow for UConn, as C Amida Brimah will be out 6-8 weeks after surgery to repair a broken finger. Major defensive presence for Huskies.

#1 - what many of us believe is true; but an equal number still don't think is a problem. #2 - what us armchair coaches have been tearing our hair over. #3 thru #6 - Sterling must closely monitor btb and our threads. #7 - hadn't really noticed this one in particular, but yeah, doesn't seem like Lyonel's position is one that should be barking at the players during gametime or timeouts.

When you go to Florida in December, it’s supposed to be for fun. Unfortunately, that was not the case for the Lady Hoosiers as they lose both games in the Florida Sunshine Classic. Tonight was a 75 – 64 loss to WVU. Ladies were outrebounded 35 – 28 and WVU hit 10-3’s. Buss 21 pts., but only 5 of 11 from the floor; she did hit 11 of 12 free throws. Cahill 12 pts., on 5 of 6 from the floor. Gassion 11 pts., but only 3 of 10 from the floor. McBride 10 pts., on 4 of 8 from the floor. -

End of the 3rd and our ladies just can't cut the deficit and trail 57 - 45. Fortunately WVU has cooled on hitting 3's, but they've gotten off 12 more shots than we have. We've hit 13 of 16 free throws or the WVU would be quite a bit bigger. Buss with 12; Cahill with 11. -

Halftime and the Lady Hoosiers trailing WVU 37 - 30. WVU putting on a 3-point clinic hitting on 8 of 13 and overall shooting 45% from the floor compared to our 36%. Cahill our leading scorer with 9, Buss with 8. WVU had a 14-pt. lead at one time but our girls put on a mini-run to narrow the lead at the half. -

End of the 1st Q and the Lady Hoosiers trail 12 - 10. Neither team shooting well; IU only 22% but they are outrebounding WVU which is a positive. -

In all likelihood, it is a IU football player, but why be so vague and cloak it in secrecy? It either is a football player or it's a mid-season transfer who would be immediately eligible. If it is Fuchs, it's not that big of a deal since Fuchs was on the team last year after football season and we know what his contribution will be. And honestly, if Fuchs already has a football scholly, why give him the open basketball scholly? Give it to Burton!

IU vs ND post-game thread

Not if there's not a lot of big losses or upset losses among the ranked teams to cause their stock to fall. I don't think simply beating subpar opponents will drive our stock up significantly. And I'm not so sure I wouldn't prefer to remain unranked or lowly ranked if this team would just string together some consistently solid winning performances. I'm afraid if they jumped into the top 15, they'd just do a 'dukie' and immediately fall back out. -

The pollsters are probably of that "fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me" school and with our early season stumbles in Maui and at Duke, it's going to take more than a victory over a Notre Dame team that isn't nearly that tough this year, to get their attention. -

Nice soft shot, good timing on his blocks and appears to run the court really well. -
B1G is certainly not as strong as in prior years, but I believe the die has already been cast that CTC is gone barring an absolute miracle and IMO that ain't gonna happen. As Wayne noted, he's good at losing to bad teams and then there's our typical late season el foldo. And if he can't pull the miracle this year he certainly won't next year because I believe we're looking at a complete roster makeover - Yogi, Max, Z graduate; JBJ and Troy NBA or more likely overseas; an inevitable transfer out. John Calipari and maybe Coach K. could win with a boatload of freshmen and sophomores; CTC can't. He's simply not good enough.
