  1. Don't know why, but Troy simply has brain farts during most games and too many brain farts in some games.  I cringe when I see him bring the ball across mid-court, drops his head and shoulders and look out, it's gonna be a wild Troy drive to the bucket.  Some are spectacular in their finish; some are spectacularly bad.  Please Troy, load up on the Beano until April 5.
  2. Wayne, your powers of prediction are quite astounding, now about next week's Powerball numbers......
  3. I've raised this issue in other threads, but I'm concerned what JBJ's overall skill level is going to be after rehabbing a third knee surgery.  Is he going to have explosiveness off the dribble, lateral quickness on defense, etc.?  At least 2 of his 3 have to be considered major surgeries because of the length of the rehabilitation period.  Won't be easy.
  4.   More of a chess match.  CTC came up with a good game plan to deal with PUke's bigs.  Now has to come up with another to counter Painter's changes to his offense.  Our guards have to simply beat the crap out of their guards in every conceivable way.  Oh, and we also need to be sure Good Troy is in the bldg.
  5. Here's a sound clip of the Green Bay announcer's temporary ejection from last night's Horizon League game.   http://awfulannouncing.com/2016/green-bay-announcer-temporarily-ejected-from-horizon-league-semifinal.html
  6.   And should we land Robert Phinisee, his demeanor is just like JBJ.  No emotion, no excitability on the court; just plays a helluva game.
  7.   Terri Moren didn't exactly inherit an all-star squad and look what she's done in 2 years.  Certainly, what CTC inherited was worse, but Moren lost veteran players and recruits who de-committed and still she's done an outstanding job in just her second year.
  8. Maybe Gelon can become a Z type contributor in his junior and senior seasons.  Limited minutes but the ability to score from outside and pull the defense out of the paint.  Lot depends on just how much time he'll commit to the gym and weight room.  The new mantra, "does he want to play at IU or for IU?"
  9. The Seymour Regional could be the best of the bunch. Top-ranked New Albany (23-1) and super sophomore Romeo Langford (29.3 ppg) meet No. 10 Bloomington South (21-4), followed by Franklin Central (18-6) and last year’s state runner-up, Evansville Reitz (21-4).   Indpls. Star:  How good has New Albany’s Langford been so far in high school?  He’s already set a new single-season scoring record at New Albany (700 points so far) and will likely set a new career record at the school early next year (the record is 1,463 points). Langford, who has offers from Indiana, Louisville, Purdue, UCLA and Vanderbilt, also set the single-game New Albany scoring record with a pair of 44-point games this season.  Is it too early to wonder if Langford could make a run at Damon Bailey’s all-time record of 3,134 points? Probably. He’s still nearly 2,000 points away. But it’s something to keep an eye on at his current progression.
  10. In next Saturday's regional action at Logansport, defending state champion Homestead (20-5) plays Carroll (22-6), followed by Carmel vs. McCutcheon (25-3).  McCutcheon may be the class of the regional, however, with dynamic sophomore Robert Phinisee (19.3 ppg, 6.4 assists) running the show.
  11. The 16 teams still playing in 4A are all in the top 32 in the Sagarin Ratings.   South Bend Riley meets Warsaw (23-1) in the Michigan City Regional on Saturday, followed by East Chicago Central (18-5) vs. Crown Point (18-8).  East Chicago Central is coming off its first sectional title since 2008 and has a senior in Damien Jefferson who should receive some support for IndyStar Mr. Basketball presented by the Indiana Pacers. Crown Point is led by senior and Indiana recruit Grant Gelon and junior Sasha Stefanovic.   NOTE:  Riley is led by Damezi Anderson so we could have an Anderson / Gelon showdown in the regional final.
  12. Murder, Inc. (that's us)  83   Either Victim    68
  13.   Extremely well deserved honor.  Max may have only worn candystripes for 1 year, but what a year it's been.  We will remember Max and his contributions (and his calves) a very long time!
  14. 247Sports still listing him at 5' 11":   Garland, a 5-11 point guard from Brentwood (Tenn.) Academy, unofficially visited Indiana today. He is ranked No. 15 in the 247Sports Composite. Louisville, Tennessee and Vanderbilt watched him during the state tournament.
  15. Zach Osterman ‏@ZachOsterman 49m49 minutes ago FINAL: No. 12 IU defeats No. 14 Maryland 80-62, finishes regular season 25-6, 15-3 in conference. Best Big Ten record since 1993. #iubb
  16. From manager to player.  What a story for your grandkids.
  17. Your willingness to be a walk-on and help the team in practice is most appreciated.
  18. MD has slowed the pace and we're not pushing it back up.
  19. When Z catches it with his feet set, he's darn near automatic.
  20. Can't let up.  Lot of minutes yet to be played.
