Game Thread: Indiana Hoosiers vs. Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Leal is no answer, but I'm shocked Lander didn't get any time for another ball handler with them pressing like they were and forcing Al into a PG role. I understand that Lander is no savior, but he doesn't make me incredibly nervous dribbling like Al does -

Game 27 of the season and the Al Durham PG experiment is still continuing....why oh why? -

He hurt? I see his non-sleeved arm wrapped up a bit, but doesn't look like enough wrap to prevent him from playing -

Would explain a whole lot from this season, wouldn't it? Had that thought cross my mind and quickly brushed past it after some of the awful basketball I've watched all year -

It wouldn't be an IU game if the deficit wasn't under 5 one way or the other -

I see Lander has some bandage on his arm that's not sleeved. Is he even available? Struggling to defend so probably not the time to bring him in, just generally curious if he's hurt -

Wonder if we'll get the Phinisee and Lander lineup today with Franklin in the rotation. It's worked at times and Rutgers seems to want to guard us the full length of the floor -

Race is the one guy I really hope we don't lose if there's a coaching change and subsequent roster turnover. Tough as nails on a team severely lacking it -
Setting the expectations early at least. Can't be too upset when we struggle to reach 60 when he said already we'd struggle to shoot the ball 4 days before the game. Joking, but please don't lose 3 in one season to Rutgers
-
While I'd love to have those guys, is Phinisee unable to play at a faster pace or is he not allowed to by Archie and the system? Serious question, as I am appalled at the statements made at that introductory press conference compared to what I've watched all year. Those 3 guys you listed certainly would help shoulder the load, especially with Franklin going down, but I'm not convinced those guys would be allowed any more freedom if Archie is indeed dictating the pace. It just leaves me so lost, as I can't understand why there's no attempt to run with how much we struggle to shoot the ball.

It's not a skill I'd be good at, but raising the money would appear to be the easy part. Hiring the right guy is a bigger mystery and challenge. I was dead wrong on Glass hiring Allen and Archie, but Dolson needs to knock this one out of the park. Best of luck to him and all of us
-
Before we erect the Dolson statue shouldn’t we wait to see who he hires? If I recall correctly a lot of the criticism of Dolson was that he was a Fred Glass clone except with a stop as a basketball manager. He’s got a chance here to prove those doubters wrong as Glass’s hirings haven’t all worked out obviously, but Fred had no trouble raising money himself I wasn’t one of those critical, just going off memory for those who were. Consider me impressed when the basketball program is turned around - until then I’m cautiously optimistic.

All the Crean guys moved on from the program and we somehow got worse. Sad days in Bloomington, IN -

The technical is one thing, but the reffing in conference play is just a prime example of why this conference has failed to win a national title since 2000. Hard to adjust in a one and done tournament when you've been allowed to maul each other for 3 straight months in conference play. I just watch the games, but even I don't know what's going to get called during some of these games. -

I know Hummel isn't in the building, but TJD can't get his shot off in traffic, so why does he insist on him getting the ball down there. Suppose it's the best option, as everyone else is so bad, but it's a bit tiring to listen to -

IUs defense isn't that great to max out at 50 point in a game. Not many Big10 teams you're going to be able to hold under 60. -

I have serious doubts, as I have had all season, about the weight training program at IU. I see all those offseason before and after pictures of body transformations, which is great, but is that continuing into the season? I've never seen so many airballs and attempts to shatter a backboard. -

It was called out last game, but something tells me Archie's already been informed he's not back next season. Hands on hips, arms folded and hands in pockets through the first 15 minutes. Looks like a deadman walking, feel for him
