I didnt think Vandy was a shock to be in the top 3. I actually thought UNC would be in there and not Kansas. Then that made me remember that Kansas is an adidas school and UNC is not. Vandy is a Nike school, Romeo isn't going to a Nike school and he isn't going to Kansas.

Actions speak louder than words (silence). Too much circumstantial evidence for it to be any other school than IU. 
Also, I was doing some random reading a few months ago (can't remember what site) and the consensus from scouts was that there is not a 1 and done PG in this class. Doesn't mean someone can improve to that level. If there isn't a one and done PG, then that makes IU an even better choice as our roster make up over the course of 2 seasons will be higher than Vandy. Of course we are adding Romeo for one year too. 

I'd say he is smart enough not to base anything on 1 game.

Go figure that the Scout guys (Rabjohns and Evan Daniels) are the ones that have been closest to the Garlands and are very quiet.

I’m pretty sure Romeo, if he had to commit right now would choose IU. I think the biggest factor for him is wanting to see how Archie does. As long as we can improve throughout the year and look reasonably solid by the end of the year, I think we get him. Similar to how Jordan Tucker knew he was going to come to IU, but waited the whole year to see if Crean would be fired.

Actually he did. Like I said elsewhere, when DG, Cuju, and JN are all playing badly and you can't go into your walking in game one, Johnson is going to play. He has played well in practice. It's just not translating over. You need fame film to show the team. But yes let's use Johnson as the example of the bench not being used as a tool. Get over being pissed off that they lost. The team had some bright spots and are learning. This is a process and anyone who thought just changing Crean would fix a basketball cultural issue over the past 9 years, clearly doesn't realize how drastic a change Archie Miller's style is over Crean. 

Bc DG, JN, and CuJo were bad as well. Al was the only guard that didn't look disinterested. I don't think you go to walk ons in game one. You need the film of your guys looking to be in the rotation. 

I don't question those one bit. But to roast a coach who has to flip the entire culture of the program on its ear after one game is completely asinine. It goes on everyone and I'm sure CAM has addressed just that. No reason to single him out.

You have to figure that over half of the roster will be different if IU lands Romeo and Darius.

My Lord.   To read the ISU game thread, Archie Miller can't coach, Indiana may never win again, and we will lose every recruit that ever considered Indiana.
Folks, Tom Crean left a bare cupboard.  That's a simple reality.  Josh Newkirk is a transfer.  Kids transfer for reasons.  Not many are overly positive.  Freddie McSwain is a JUCO kid with hands like frying pans.  Juwon Morgan is not a starter on any good team.  Especially as a kid expected to rebound.  Davis is in his first season with any real expectations on him.  As recently as 9 months ago, Robert Johnson was considered something of a cancer along with Blackmon. Same with Green as Davis....expectations that are probably too high  (and a kid who I don't think is anywhere NEAR ready for that kind of role)   Hartman didn't play.   We don't have shooters.  We have a team of kids who need to break old, bad habits.  We don't have a ton of talent.  We don't have a ton of leadership.  We don't have kids who know their roles.   We don't have a single Miller recruit in the program (let that sink in).  
What did anyone expect this season to look like?  Especially game 1?   6 weeks ago in a thread, I said 16-18 wins would be really good for this team.   Many agreed.  If 16-18 wins is good, 10-14 might be more of a reality.
Here are some positives.   We got to the FT line 33 times.  We made 23.  They shot 18.    We forced 19 turnovers.  Okay...that's really it; but the point is the same.  This is a coach trying to play with another coach's recruits and players, playing with a completely new style, and a huge lack of depth and size.  Few teams will shoot 17-26 from the 3 point line; and yes...I know our defense was bad.  But for the love of God and all things holy, be realistic about where we are; and please stop with the incessant blaming of coaching for this loss or the way this team looks.  That game had ZERO to do with Archie Miller and his outlook at Indiana.

I seriously don’t know what you all expected. I warned early on that a coach wasn’t going to fix all of the turnover, defense, and PG issues. I’m disappointed by how bad this was, but not shocked. This is the same BAD team from last year, less a few NBA players with no immediate impact additions. Get ready to hate this season.
 
Also, Freddie needs more minutes. Like what he’s doing.

We watched different games. I was watching guys getting yanked for stupid play. Did they get back in? Yes, but then yanked again when they messed up.  I also saw Al come in and stay in bc he was willing to fight.

I hope that he is watching. He should see immediate playing time and a quality post man. He will have Romeo has his backcourt mate.

Well, my gut feeling after HH is looking correct. We have a whole team of guys that should be the 3-4 option on offense and a bunch of guys that Crean recruited that have no interest in defense. Gonna have to wait on Archie to get His guys im afraid.

I don’t see how you can say IU for sure wins this game with Crean. IU doesn’t win this game with anyone the way they played tonight
