  1. Can’t imagine it won’t be Dayton. Will have officially come full circle.
  2. First saw the 31 out of the corner of my eye, thought it was his age, and it didn’t even throw me.
  3. God, that is brutal.
  4. One of, if not the most, over-hyped prospects I’ve ever seen in HS. Top 15 kid and MCDAA based 100% on elite physical tools without a single playable skill. Not 1. To his credit he’s turned himself into a rotation piece for a good team by the time he’s a senior and he plays hard.
  5. Well then, according to The Sporting News of the 15 greatest players to ever play CBB only 2 played before 1965 and only 1 after 2003 while 12 played in the 38 years in between. That probably clues us in a bit on the age and time period when many of the selectors came of age. Actually don’t think it’s a terrible list with a couple of exceptions: 1) Ralph Sampson was 3-time NPOY and in real time was the best player in CBB by acclimation. It would be more legit to argue whether he was top 5 than not top 15. 2) It’s been forgotten how great Glenn Robinson was because he just sort of disappeared when his career was over. But that dude won a Big 10 and went to the Elite 8 with Cuonzo Martin and a bunch of guys who couldn’t play dead. 3) Pains me to say it, but Edey was the most dominant player of the 21st century. You can’t leave him off a like this. I’m sure I’m forgetting obvious guys but that’s who leapt to mind.
  6. Michigan’s best is best, no doubt. But if you had to bet on which team’s more likely to actually play their best game it’s got to be UConn because of Hurley. Between him and Lendeborg possibly not being right it’s gonna be really interesting. But if Lendeborg is close to 100% he’s the nastiest matchup in the country and UM would be a big hill to climb.
  7. Wonder how long Ian Eagle had been waiting to use “Waiting for Cadeau”?
  8. Hmmm… UL PF Mouhamed Camara is portalling. Came through the NBA Africa program and redshirted last year. Seem to recall reading that he was this insane athlete and specimen who was just not ready to play yet. Must have shown enough in exhibitions that their fans seem sorry about this. Now he’s been in UL’s program for a year. So, a high upside lottery ticket 4 man with 4 years of eligibility who is probably reasonably priced and the staff would know very well. Just sayin’
  9. Oh look, UNC fans moving on to their Archie Miller early. Actually I think Lucas would probably be a fine choice, but funny how every guy in the coaching universe didn’t want their job, either.
  10. From November? Yeah, missed that one entirely.
  11. This is pretty funny. In this guy’s scenario Fru plays 40 a night and DDV is lying when he says he wants to get bigger.
  12. Ok then, this is my boy. Was originally a ‘26 who classed up. Built like an offensive tackle. One of the hardest playing true 5’s you will ever see. Great feet. Has fantastic timing as a shot blocker. His post offense is still crude but his hands and his feet are so good that it’ll come. Sets giant screens. Forget 3mil centers, I want this kid right here.
  13. You’d think so, except all those Georgia kids start school at 5 and graduate at 17. He was really young when Ya offered him. I’ll bet he’s still 21.
  14. 1) open system 2) a coach who understands that the cost of his good stuff, and there’s a lot, is that there will be plays that make you want to kill him. 3) an alpha PG who understands where and when not to feed him.
  15. 100%. I’m confident that most of school budget numbers we’re hearing are probably at least in the ballpark but the player expectations are agent driven nonsense
  16. Agree. If he’s finds the right fit he’ll be a breakout player.
  17. Was a huge priority of the previous staff. They put a lot of time into him. DMV kid, so Kenny probably knows him. 39% from 3 is misleading because he has a really slow low release point, lower than Galloway’s, and can’t get a contested look off.
  18. Wouldn’t even consider it. Not even close. Way too many vagaries in CBB to throw that much jack at a single player for 1 year. IF AJ Dybantsa, who’s a legit star, can’t get you out of the 64 what exactly is Flory Bidunga guaranteeing you for a third of your budget?
  19. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2026/04/02/iu-recruit-vaughn-karvala-helps-cia-bella-vista-prep-to-chipotle-nationals-win/89443392007/ Nice little article on Karvala from the Star.
  20. Way too small a sample size, obviously, but the one Dayton game I watched was their win at SLU and L’Etang had a huge game and thoroughly outplayed Robbie Avila. He was the reason they won that game.
  21. DDV: “Reed, have a seat, I’m going with Dave. He may be, ya know, an actual senior, but we got to have some physicality.”
  22. Nope, but consensus ND Twitter seems to consider it just a matter of when.
  23. The appeal of Dilione is lost on me and he flies dead in the face of IU’s shot chart last year. So much emphasis, correctly, on 3’s and getting to the rim and Dilione doesn’t shoot it very well and basically lives and dies on contested middies. Unless DDV is putting a bunch of emphasis on guys who get their own, and he can do that, I don’t get it. But it’s not my team. If he wants him, by all means go get’em.
  24. Sold him the Dalton Knecht starter kit. Pretty easy sell. I was watching some Brett Decker stuff last night and if IU can get him on campus he would be about as susceptible to the Lamar Wilkerson starter kit as it’s possible to find. He’s basically a slightly smaller version of the same archetype.
  25. For the record I look nothing at all like that dude.
