Wilkerson was my favorite guy in the portal before IU was even on him. Love him. Would be willing to bet that he and Devries will be the highest scoring duo in the B1G this year.

Smith’s an interesting case. I watched a fair amount of him as a freshman and didn’t love him as much as most because I had him pegged as an early maturer because he looked 3 years ahead of his class physically. Turns out he wasn’t, he’s just a straight physical freak. Kid’s 17 and got the body and athleticism of a grown man.

Feels like a very late offer for a kid who’s been near the top of his class for a couple of cycles. But Kenny Johnson is a Team Takeover guy and obviously thinks he can get a visit.

Looks like he’s been in the portal for several weeks. Gonna guess that they did some exploratory due diligence and then signed higher priorities. But I guess we’ll see.

Saw Brewster play Link Academy at the Quincy Shootout in January and that night in a game with 3 MCDAA’s and nothing but HM kids playing Wilkins was the best player on the floor, flat took over late and hit a 20 footer at the horn to win it for Brewster. That kid is a grown man.

Probably, but it works both ways. If a top 10ish type kid has, ya know, 5 offers going into his Senior year, unless it’s a Flagg-type situation where there’s no question where they’re going that should provoke a whole different set of questions.

May be forced to check that out this year. Watching it last year that looked like fun.

Was at Montverde as a Soph sitting behind McNeely, Queen and that bunch and then transferred to Columbus and played last year with the Boozer twins. Looks some like Jayson Tatum in HS. Great frame. 3 level scoring potential. Will be interesting to see how he reacts next year to being a #1 option because up to now he hasn’t been.

“Who’s the greatest modern American singer” sounds like a subjective question, except it’s not. The answer’s Aretha Franklin. What a freaking Titan. I’d never seen this before. Aretha doing “Natural Woman” as a tribute to the great Carole King, who co-wrote this with her and is losing her mind throughout. She was 73 here. Staggering. And if you’re not familiar with the symbolism of it, the dropping of the coat at the end is an old time gospel symbol of someone retiring. So unbelievably cool.

Cal WR Jonathan Brady transferring to IU. Caught 74 for 1010 yds and 7 td’s from Mendoza over the past 2 seasons. Based on size(5’10” and 180) and yards per catch I assume he’s a slot guy. 1 year left.

100%. And he’d find some minutes, but, honest to God, I’d take even if he barely plays. Whatever one thinks of this roster, and I’m pretty intrigued, the one thing it absolutely lacks is anyone at all whose experienced anything close to an IUBB-type environment and the accompanying expectations. Every one of these kids is moving up in weight class. The scrutiny. The fishbowl. The road atmospheres.The whole deal. Having a voice in the locker room who gets it and can convey it would have great, great value.
