Yeah, IU can take care of this by just winning out. But that’s not really the point. The issue is how they’ve moved the selection process to this late in the season to eliminate pre-conceived opinions and yet have done nothing of the sort. The real issue is schools like Bama and Georgia have a margin for error that the IU’s and BYU’s don’t.

IUBB vs SIEU - Wednesday, 11.06.24 @ 8:00 on BTN

And Arkansas won by 16 and Creighton won by 13 and Villanova lost. Wins are good with no exception and losing is always bad. Moral victories are a myth. -

You don’t hire Crean, you hire Buckley. Shot coaching is shockingly underrated given the nature of the game. Refining shot mechanics is never ending. I don’t care if you’re putting up 500 shots a day, if it’s not happening with fastidious attention to detail it’s only so productive. My favorite example is Robert Johnson. Dude fought a lot of funk in his stroke. Had some backward lean and left drift. Under Buckley he was basically a 40% shooter over 3 years. Under a year with CAM he had 1 game, Iowa or Minny I think, where he made a million 3’s but his stroke deteriorated all year and he was probably a 35% guy without that game. I don’t care how many shots Woody says they’re getting up in the gym. I care about how they’re getting them up and it better not be just some GA rebounding for them. -

That gives Northwestern a huge ‘25 class. Like 5 or 6 kids. Feels a little strange in the portal era, though I imagine they would struggle some to get transfers into school. -
Braylon Mullins (2025) SG - to UConn

Can’t lie, don’t love that at all. Have a good run in Storrs, Braylon. -

Love that picture of the kid. He looks like some boxer who got knocked out by Jack Dempsey 100 years ago. -
Yup, the schedule thing would have some validity with me if they were winning a bunch of 13-10 games. But they have flat beaten down everybody. Anybody think if Bama or Georgia had done the exact same thing to the exact same schedule they wouldn’t be top 3? But that can work both ways a little bit. I imagine they’ll get extra credit for boat racing Michigan Saturday because of their brand when they really aren’t good.

UC-Davis runs out of gas a little late and Washington gets the home win despite a horrendous free throw shooting game. 1st time I’ve seen Great Osobor and for 2.5 mil I’m not sure Washington is gonna get a great return on investment in conference play. Big frame. Good hands. Strong rebounder. Well-schooled on the block. But he’s land locked, he doesn’t move well laterally and I don’t know who he defends. He’s gonna have some bad matchups.

Probably as good a jumping off point as we could reasonably hope for. Go beat Michigan with the bye week after and all those SEC teams beating each other up for the next couple of weeks creates a pretty nice path.

(2025)-PF Bryson Tiller to Kansas

I’ve thought Auburn for a year, but if Ga Tech has enough cash to equalize that part that might be the move. He was pretty gushy about Stoudamire after his visit. -
This election metaphor is realllly tortured.

Xavier Booker doing Xavier Booker things in Mich St’s 34pt win over Monmouth. 4 pts on 2-10 and 0-4 from 3 to go with 2 rebs and 2 to’s in 19mins against a team whose tallest starter was 6’6”. For other justifiable criticisms of Woody from a recruiting perspective, he was absolutely right not to go all in here.

Yikes. Well I guess that one ain’t gonna do the old strength of schedule much good. North Florida had the Lanier kid last year who’s at Tennessee now, but I didn’t realize they had anything else.
-
They’ve made good progress since the Oakland scrimmage with their defensive communication and they’re disciplined enough to just bludgeon these guys at the rim. But, man, Cleveland St is small and bad.

I was a big fan of Burgess before he broke his leg and not happy he’s at Purdue. Got a lot of skills.

The one I really want for some reason is LSU. Kelly is such an unapologetic D-bag and the idea that he took that job, ginned up a little southern accent, and then gets knocked out of a playoff by lowly Indiana just sounds too satisfying.

Yeah, and a good chunk of Colts twitter got completely sideways drawing an inference that Flacco would be the guy the rest of the year from a pretty vague statement Steichen made. I’d bet a mortgage payment that doesn’t happen.

If they want to move on from Ballard that’s completely defensible given his tenure. But you don’t draft a 20yo ball of clay with 11 college games unless you’re committing to something like a 3 year developmental timeline for him. Right now, on the field he’s exactly what they should have expected 10 games in and I don’t believe for a second they’re stepping away from him or even stepping back as far as that goes. I don’t know what provoked it, but they boxed his ears for something and if he handles it properly he’ll be back sooner rather than later.

True, but I believe this time he’s coming with 1 of his WR’s. -
This may not age well at all, but I think this is happening because both he and Steichen are confident they’re totally safe. I think they wanted to get AR’s attention for preparation or leadership or some other off-field thing, doubt it was the tap out, and this was how they chose to do it. Will be pretty shocked if he’s not back in the lineup within a game or 2.

I still can’t get my mind around Chris Mack at C of C.
