I think the NCAA fears that the power schools will withdraw and form a new organization if they sanction them to severely. The result is the embarrassing shame we saw tonight.

I was a teacher right out of college in the early '70's and clearly understood that a line existed between me and my students. That said I heard plenty of inappropriate comments from male teachers about female students as young as junior high age. Also some of those students seemed accessible. For me this is really problematic. I could never see myself in a relationship with someone who once sat in my classroom. At the same time, I think that one bad decision, such as discussed, shouldn't be held against someone forever providing it doesn't become a pattern. I also fully understand that others may feel differently on this subject.

I think you pretty much nailed it. No one knows for sure, but Coach Miller looks and sounds like the real deal. I think we may have just hired the next big thing!

I'm tempering my expectations even with most of the team back. I've heard Coach Miller say multiple times that it takes 2 to 3 years to fully implement his defense and get the players doing what he expects. I think we'll see improvement as the year goes by, but there are a lot of bad habits to unlearn.

I think the more time passes the more likely most of them are to stay. They have a lot to think about and it is their lives so I want them to make the best decision possible. Coach Miller has to earn their trust and I believe he is working hard to do that. But we have to understand that they signed up for one thing and now they are dealing with something different and it has to be hard.

Look, cover-up or not, if it is that hard to find, I don't care. I went through the entire tenure of Bob Knight!

I am always grateful for what our former did while here. I don't think, however, that they should be determining the direction of the program. If a highly qualified coaching former player existed, then great, hire him. But none of them are close to Coach Miller.

Think about how many more games we could have won this year if we would have had 3 or 4 less turnovers and 3 or 4 more stops on defense. That's the minimum I think we're getting with Coach Miller. Better times next year, great times ahead.

From all that I've read, it looks like the days of the inmates running the asylum are over.

Every big name coach was a nobody at one time. Just maybe we just hired the next big name. To be the man you have to beat the man. Go get'em Coach Miller.

If it is A. Miller, he will have everything he needs to prove his worth.

You can take a promising young coach from a lesser program for a lot less money and in a few years look pretty smart....or pretty dumb.

No better source than "pillow talk"! This is exactly what we need. I'm sure there are girls out there who know more about the situation than all of the "insiders" combined. They just don't care enough to say anything.

I have no doubt that recruiting is very dirty business these days. Locking down the state seems unrealistic to me, even playing in the gray area. Still, from a business perspective, CTC's job performance over time was not good enough.

Regardless of how likely a particular coach may be, I don't think a smart A.D. quits looking at possibilities until the ink is dry on the contract.

He's not stupid but he does love to needle the listeners. Alford might be the most polarizing name on the list. He throws stuff out to get a reaction and we play along.

If taken literally, Mr Class's criteria for our next coach excludes many of the lower tier guys we have discussed. I believe he has a short list and will go hard after option 1 or 2. He also knows that this is his signature hire. His ego will not allow him to fail and I believe we will be pretty happy with the result.

Next year may be rough, but it was likely going to be anyway. If we get at least a fundamentally sound type of basketball, there will be hope going forward.

This is really the only way it could have gone. Now waiting on Izzo to explode!

I'll be back pulling for the Hoosiers next year just like I have been the past 60+ years. But, if Coach Crean is back, my expectations will be much, much lower!

I have no problem jumping on CTC, but hate to see us turn on the players.

The IU administration is setting these guys up to fail by giving up the home game. That is inexcusable in my opinion. I want our guys to win really badly just because of that.
