  1. I don’t think our next coach needs to ever win it all. That sounds crazy but I don’t think they do to be successful no matter how long they are here. I would love to see us win more championships but more importantly, I just want to enjoy being a fan again. I want to want to put my IU gear back on and know by heart when our next game is and who it is against and think we have a good shot of winning and tune in and lean forward and watch every minute of it
  2. True. I also think Geronimo could be really good eventually. Lander, Leal and Galloway could all be good but they need to develop confidence and a shot
  3. It is a huge plus in making a change this year. What players are going to want to transfer in when the coach is on his way out? On the flip side, more would find it appealing to transfer into a program where you are on equal level with everyone else, meaning the current players don’t have 1-4 years of love/loyalty established already
  4. I think that is all pretty accurate. It’s not the big deal some are making it out to be. Dolson should call Glass and ask for a donation to help
  5. Money matters but I don’t think they needed to pay him that much to come, they might have overpaid. I would also say that Archie’s top 12 pay probably goes further in Bloomington than Cronin’s top 3 Pay in LA
  6. Also depends on how much of the roster you’d want to retain. any good coach is going to keep the roster in tact. Any good coach is going to bring in immediate transfers and fill holes and use all of our scholarships
  7. Worse that 12-12 and a losing record in conference? I don’t think so
  8. There is no sure fire home run, zero. was Holtmann, Howard, Underwood looked at as homerun hires when they were made? Maybe a few people felt that way but it wasn’t a “woah! Amazing hire by most, just solid”, not all that different than when we hired Archie. All 3 are now at the top of the conference and fighting for a 1 seed in the tourney. there are probably 20 coaches out there that could get us on the right track quickly, back in the tourney every year and it’s just a matter of what seed vs “will we make it?” we just need our administration to figure out who those are and who is not a good fit. There are a lot of options, some will work, some will not
  9. If people can’t stand listening to him call a game, that says a lot to me about his inability to be relatable, likeable so I don’t see that translating well to recruiting
  10. Hard yes on Pearl for me, he’s top 5
  11. Beard is a very good coach that wins. Winning is fun but his style is also very very slow and kinda boring. He and Bennet are the two snooziest winners
  12. For me, he seems like the best and most reasonably realistic choice. no idea if he would come but it seems very attainable and a very good hire. I think he is the best college coach out there that would make sense for him and IU
  13. Does IU have any ties ti Scott Drew? With he and his family growing up in Indiana I can’t imagine there aren’t some relationships there that can be leveraged to gather interest from him without making anything public. I would give him a shot without hesitation. He restored Baylor much like Crean did IU but he has sustained it and actually still getting better every year
  14. In a pandemic? Wha?
  15. I was going to say 87-62 but to be different, 87-63 wolverines
  16. I would like to see these 6 play 28 minutes a game TJD Geronimo hunter durham franklin Leal i can’t stand seeing lineups where we have 2-4 players out there at a time that couldn’t hit broad side of a barn. TJD can’t shoot but does so much more so he has to be out there. There is nobody else that is otherwise good enough to get away with being a bad shooter and the rest can all at least shoot it a bit phinisee, Lander, Galloway and Thompson are little to no threat to shoot and playing any combo of those along with TJD is a recipe for disaster
  17. Archie recruited an entire team, well minus open scholarships, and none are capable of leading? That’s crazy
  18. That’s a huge plus and if he plays it right, he could be the one to turn this program around for his tenure and beyond. The thing that is hard for the everyday person to grasp, but it really could be 1 call he makes. 1 individual could get us out of this pickle
  19. I would be geeked to see Cheaney on the staff and even as the head coach but he would have to want it and pour his heart into it and from what I’ve read his heart isn’t into all the things that come with it
  20. I don’t think an argument needs to be made at this point, the horse is dead and rotting the sooner the better, likely should be the day after we lose our first game of the bigten tourney
  21. You can plan around having 13 scholarships and using them all VS going into the season using only 11. That alone is roster mismanagement
  22. That’s right, he has almost always had a scholarship or even two open. If you go that angle you don’t get a pass if there is an injury and you have to play a lineup that doesn’t make sense.
  23. Roster mismanagement
  24. I’ve always wondered why, if we have major problems at guard, why we keep playing 3 guard lineups. Start TJD, Geronimo and Hunter
  25. I think the net would be ringing endorsements from Cody and a slew of other influential alums and basketball minds
