General Coach Candidate News
MikeRoberts replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Beard vs musselman has been a good one musselman’s wife not quite Mrs. Enfield but not bad either. -
You really think that he didn’t get recognized at restaurants in Columbus? I can assure you that isn’t the case
-
What is the harm in listening to Woodson if he is interested? It would be stupid not to listen. Edit: he would be great to have on the bench as an assistant
-
Why would IU put up a “smoke screen”? seems like a silly thing to do. Just go out and get your guy, period.

Agree! Look at Archie’s record during his tenure and there was no other option. We were trending down in a program that was already underperforming -

I think we will be very happy with who we get. No reason to think otherwise and there is no lateral move to 12-14 record, losing record in bigten play and never beating our rivals. The new coach will have a clean slate and will have the opportunity to do great things here. The players coaching themselves could have delivered the above results -

Glad to know that Dolson is trying to make it work, that’s negotiating. ”I’m a 44 year old Indihole, I j walk while eating Orville Redenbacher popcorn listening to colts games on my Walkman” -

Maybe. I don’t see it that way. He has a job but one that is trending down. There are questions as to whether the team is still behind him and there are definitely pitchforks swirling amongst the celts fans. on the other hand, IU has a clean slate. They’ve paid off Archie and seemingly have a lot of money to throw at the next coach. I like where we are vs where he is tbh. If the celts don’t manage to make the playoffs it is going to be be insanely toxic and tough to be BS in Boston -

I know what you mean. I waited this out for quite a bit before I reached out to friends a out it but after hearing some of the quotes you referenced, I did reach out to IU fans via text and shared that I was hearing it was done and then a long chat ensued about what to expect under his leadership. So the premise for the entire conversation stemmed from a false starting point. It’s not the end of the world or really that big of a deal but a little embarrassing -

Yeah that interview was cringeworthy at best. I lost a little respect for him. There is no way he is a dunkin fan, patriots fan and a mass hole. Why did he say he is a mass hole, because he j-walks? -

I imagine you don’t manage anyone. People get fired all the time with the replacement tbd. That’s actually the norm -

If we land the right guy and average 25 wins a season, we will look back and think we dodged a bullet. Let’s hope -

Yep, the fans want him gone. Unless he sees a massive turnaround coming, I’m not sure what he is thinking. It’s going to become ridiculously toxic if it hasn’t already -

Some people for sure did. Gambling platforms don’t shut down an option like that unless there is a lot of money on that side. some fans lost their @$$ on this... -

MikeRoberts replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Why is that? That makes no sense. If you have a lame duck coach that can’t fill a roster, has a losing record and has the worst recruiting class in the bigten coming in, you have no choice but to move on -

Fair, but think about who would bet on IUs next coach, most likely IU fans. Where are IU fans right now? Glued to Btownbanners and Twitter etc. what is being fed to IU fans right now? That Brad Steven’s is in the works. So there is no reason to bet or speculate on anyone other than Steven’s right now. I personally went to a site to sign up today with the intent on betting a ton and I assume everyone else getting this info has done or tried to do the same. No reason to bet on anyone else at all currently according to what is circulating here. I would not use vegas betting as a barometer for this happening. It’s all coming from a few local sources, people on this site being a huge part of it -

All that says is that IU fans are betting on that. They try to keep as much money on each side of the bet and if it starts piling up on one side, they can just remove it -

Maybe I missed it in the 10,000 pages here but I haven’t seen them really say anything. I know Chris has said we were going hard at him but what more is there? I see 0708 thinking our odds are better this time but what else is there? I feel like this board has created the smoke out of not really anything. It feels a lot like the smoke that was artificially created around donovan on TOS last time -

So to be clear, all of this is based on the notion that we have targeted him and he hasn’t said no. He then had some wishy washy answers at a press conference. Is there anything else of substance that makes people so loopy right now? -
