  1. If Our staff pushes Trey out to get this kid I’m going to be pissed. He’s has a million opportunities to be a Hoosier and hasn’t and Trey has bled Cream and Crimson through and through. seriously awful move if this happens. I will have gone from I love this staff to WTF instantly
  2. Not many are, I’m not sure what there is to like. You don’t grow up in Indiana, have the whole state pushing for you to go to IU and choose our slimy rival only to ride the pine and then say “wait, I changed my mind”. Never going to be a fan. I’ll take Galloway all day
  3. We’re going to find out very quickly if this was the grand slam most of us fans didn’t see coming. this team should no doubt be a tourney team and could make noise if these parts gel. The 22’ and 23’ recruiting should boom
  4. Follow along, it’s not that complicated. Holtmann didn’t want the IU job because it was a pressure cooker. Meanwhile he has crushed IU and still getting heat from the fans on every move he makes or doesn’t make, including picking up Joey Brunk whom just about every IU fan was ecstatic to get and sad to lose. O$U has performed better than IU for 30 years and their standards have evolved to be higher than IUs. IU just wants to make the tourney, meanwhile they win the bigten championship every 3 years. We’re not on that level, not even close
  5. Did you look that up before making that comment? They have won the bigten championship in 9/30 seasons. Decent yeah? they have more wins, more bigten wins, more BIGTEN championships, more bigten tourney wins and championships, more tournament wins... they have been better in all facets in the last 30 years!
  6. That’s the sad part. Nobody cares about O$U basketball yet they have been WAY better than us for almost 30 years and if they start to slide, the few fans they have are up in arms and the admin cuts ties
  7. They fired a coach that won the conference championship 40% of the time and was national runner up twice. That is leagues better than anything Crean or any coach at IU has done since the early 90s I guess we will have to agree to disagree that their standards are leagues higher than IU’s and continues to be under Holtmann. If Archie had his success he would still be here, signing an extension and all of us would be thrilled and the last thing we would be nit picking is picking up Joey Brunk
  8. I think you understand that Holtmann didn’t want the IU job, and those were his reasons. I’ve always said, O$U is way worse and will can their most successful coach ever where you get to live in mediocrity at IU for years before being canned
  9. That O$U job is a fishbowl, fans with unrealistic expectations and will jump on a coach for the smallest things.
  10. I would say, if Steven’s was here for 21 years, we paid him $210mm and he won 3 championships and had us ranked in the top 25 each and every year, I would say it was well worth it. That would reestablish IU as one of the best programs in all of college baskebtall and promise us another 3 generations of passionate followers. That 21 years would carry over a huge halo effect on the fanbase for decades to follow much like Knight. I wouldn’t be an IU fan 21 years later if there was never a Bobby Knight
  11. I’m a huge Galloway fan but he has to improve his stroke, it is so broken. Amazing he is a coaches son and that was never corrected.
  12. A poor mans damon Bailey perhaps
  13. If Rosemond and Fife are still a part of the IU staff when those kids are in high school, then this was all a success
  14. Not the be all end all, but do we get to know these coaches and their families? I see Rosemond posting pics of his kids in IU gear and love seeing that stuff. It doesn’t make him a good coach, but it feels like we might actually get to know these guys through them being social/human/relatable and to me that is a nice extra. I don’t think we saw much of that with the previous staff after the press conference.
  15. Does it really matter? We all know he was Miller’s #2 and for succession purposes, fair or not, Fife is the more likely guy if it were to happen in the near future, so in a way he is likely Woodsons #2 as well.
  16. We shouldn’t hire him for one recruit. However I imagine he can bring more to the table than that.
  17. Me too, but it reiterates what I’ve always said and that recruiting is now global. Gonzaga is nowhere tonight without Ayayi
  18. We have no idea if we can out-recruit those guys or out-coach or out-play lots to wait and see about
  19. Closer to $22mm and yes, it’s crazy he was paid that much to produce so little. I have nothing against him as a human but his coaching was infuriating
  20. Anything is possible but there is no harm in racing up the floor, getting to the 3 point line and then slowing it down if there isn’t an opening, but if you are walking it up you don’t even have the chance to make a quick score. TJD is a mobile big. He should be racing down the floor like Zeller for an easy bucket and Phinisee should be pushing that type of transition. There is no way the other bigs in the bigten can outrun TJD in the open court if we were willing to push the pace. I just imagine he didn’t try because our guards weren’t looking to run
  21. Fair, but unlike Lander, he’s a veteran and should know how to improv. What point guard doesn’t want to push the pace?
  22. I hated Archie’s offense but it still makes no sense why Phinisee played at a snails pace. Rarely, if ever looked to push it despite seeing Archie on the sideline swinging his arm giving the go signal
  23. They have Lander at 7 and Franklin at 8 and Carr at 1. the writer notes that Lander is all potential, not current production
  24. Where is Marcus Carr going and are we pursuing him? That kid is a bucket and we need to improve our offense
  25. Thanks for the rationale. He might be a good get but I’m concerned looking at the portal rankings and Indiana had 3 guys ahead of Xavier - Lander, Franklin and even Durham. Seems like it might be better to just get Franklin and Lander to return
