  1. I like that a lot. Nothing is a guarantee but the guy has a lot to like and a lot of upside. Why not I guess is my response Most important thing for me is to find someone that is self aware and knows what his/her strengths and weaknesses and hire a staff to compliment those.
  2. TJD is above average athletically in college but not in the NBA. He isn’t going to outsize, outrun, outjump many players in the NBA i hope for his sake that he has been working on the jump shot and 3 point shot and ready to take it for a test drive soon.
  3. Those two weren’t there long and had very little to do with the sustained success he had throughout his career
  4. Why? He was one of the beat coaches and most successful coaches in the bigten while he was there and not only made noise in the regular season but also in the tourney
  5. And that is important but should be table stakes. Top 12 pay should result in top 12 performance and I don’t mean top 12 in the conference even though that’s never a guarantee
  6. Honest question, who is our administration these days? Glass is gone right? When is McRobbies last day? Who else has a say?
  7. Interesting, would never have guessed the offense was 6th. We have such a hard time scoring and it is so painful to watch
  8. Of course they did! OSU is ranked 4th in the country and a real shot to win a national championship. Archie will likely be in the NIT
  9. @ people that defended Archie over the years, even through much of this year, what was it that finally broke the camels back? this isn’t meant as a gotcha at all, I’m just curious how the half that had faith in him all of a sudden lost it. His support from this crowd seems to have vanished in the last 3 weeks or so and I’m just curious why?
  10. It would take some unification from IU fans, multiple boards and social media posters and beyond bonding together for some action. it could be as easy, little as a million online signatures that addressed the love and passion of those signing and the displeasure for the product we have. An option that is a bit more to bite off is the same but backing it with a million dollars to help aid, support and force action. Crowd sourced million dollars to be paid out if used before April of next year to replace Archie. If the school didn’t use it before then for said action, dollars would be returned to the donor - a go fund me type if you will. the fans are hungry, tired and I don’t think it is at all crazy to think we could get 50,000 people to pay $20 each. Of course donate more/less but that would be a message of support that goes beyond individuals bitching on message boards. while a million doesn’t cover the buyout all in number, that all in number isn’t a real number and a million up front would go a long long way
  11. Yeah, that’s kinda the scenario I drew up - IU being just good enough next year to make the tourney and he gets extended. That’s worst case scenario IMO and it is also fairly likely. I don’t want to root for them to lose but doing the bare minimum has become the norm around here and people are rightfully upset
  12. He needs to stop shooting with his off hand. That’s what he’s doing right?
  13. Prediction: IU misses the tournament - completely loses the remainder of the fanbase, recruiting stalls further, yet he lives on to coach next year. We go into year 5 unranked with no excitement for the new season. next year we see a ton of the same, but are an 11 seed and make the tourney, lose first game, fanbase screams for a change and he is extended more years as you can’t fire a coach that made the tourney and we all die a little inside and turn into nebraskaball
  14. I agree, they likely won’t do it and $ will be a reason but I have no doubt that the lifetime value at risk is waaayyy more than $6.5m.
  15. Likely won’t happen, but it wouldn’t be impossible to take on the Reddit approach and work together as IU fans to enforce our will. Right now, the admins and the handful of big donors hold all the cards. The rest of the IU fanbase is ignored because individually we don’t matter but collectively we hold a lot of weight.
  16. We could go on all day with this but it really wasn’t the horribly constructed roster that you state it to be, no worse than the rosters Archie has put together. It was constructed to play faster and none of them had played a pack like defense. The fact that Archie tried to implement a new offense and new defense, one that takes 3 years to learn was why we got our **** pushed in. That roster was more than capable of making the tourney. he pushed his style and pace on a roster that he shouldn’t have. No way in hell does that team lose game one by 21 to Indiana state without him messing up their flow
  17. I would like to see a team that is multi-dimensional. One that can win pretty run and gun but can adapt and win ugly too. be able to push the pace when the opposition allows for it. Get out of the pack line against teams that can shoot from 3. be able to adapt/coach/train for all types of teams
  18. Indiana got blown out by Indiana State, IPFW, Nebraska and Rutgers by a total of 57 points in his first season. Those losses are inexcusable and had he won those, which we weren’t really close in doing, that’s 20 wins and we are a shoe in for the NIT and likely in the tourney. He had plenty of head scratching blow out losses in year two as well. Those both should have been 20 win seasons. You can’t ditch work on Monday and then show up on Tuesday and when your getting fired say “hey, I at least showed up today, so that’s progress”. When your starting at a baseline of squat, progress argument is moot. and at least for me, had he made the tourney in each of his first 3 seasons then being a bubble team in year 4 wouldn’t have me in the “fire him” camp. If your worst year is “bubble” I can deal with that
  19. It’s the progression part that I am replying to. The “progression” in my opinion isn’t valid. When you suck for the first two seasons, progression is the only real direction you can go. If he did what I though he should have in seasons 1 and 2, there is no real progression at all, just consistently being very average across the board all 4 years. Consistently average isnt ammo to keep a coach there is no excuse for not making the NIT in his first season, none. No reason we shouldn’t have won 20 games both his first two seasons. Look at our losses and tell me all of those were ok.
  20. I cannot for the life of me understand the rationale for having the shorts not match the jersey? If you put thin stripes on top, make them thin on the bottom. If you go chunky, go chunky. having thin on jersey, medium on the waistband and then chunky on the legs looks sloppy and stupid
  21. This is correct - Vonleh and Bryant were both very suspect recruitments. We aren’t as brazen as some others out there. It to think we’ve landed everyone of our players without plying in the grey is not true
  22. That’s one way of looking at it but couldn’t disagree more. One, we won’t make the sweet 16, will be lucky to make the tourney but that was in response to chicken, I get it. More importantly, I don’t give Miller a pass on the first two seasons. He stunk it up and massively under-achieved. When you set the bar as low as he did getting the breaks beaten off him by IPFW and others there is nowhere to go but up
  23. Oh the good ol days, when we had a glimmer of hope left
  24. That’s right. You should never wait until the fanbase has completely become apathetic and recruiting has dried up, it’s too late then a mild rebuild is in the cards at a minimum. We’re toeing that line. One more season of getting the pants beaten off us by our rivals is going to lead to the administration telling us to be patient and a significant rebuild is needed
