Yep, we need at least 1 if not 2 wins against PU, MSU, OSU plus beating all the teams we are favored against to have a shot. Beating the bottom of the bigten will get us a respectable amount of wins in conference but will need some bigger rpis to get us in contention for the conference tourney Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

SS is a hack. Why would Kansas or any school for that matter back off of a top 5 player when they are in the final 3? You don't and that is why they are continuing to send coaches to see him. Edit, heard calhouns health may be impacting this one Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

My argument might be a little different than those who initiated the opposed viewpoint but as I mentioned above, if our football program was good, don't you think that would make for more passion and excitement for IU athletics which will also help with donations now and the decades to come? The donations that are coming in are in a lot of ways coming in from work that precious administrations laid. It's a very delayed process. Future administrations are going to have to deal with the mess that has taken place over the last 20 years more than the current regime. The current regime is reaping the rewards from others work. Having a shitty football and basketball program for 20 years is going to come back to haunt the school later Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I guess I see both sides of the argument is all. I think what you are saying is probably pretty accurate but there are a lot of other things to think about as well is all. The donations that are coming in to the athletic department today are 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years delayed in a sense. The big donors are older and were at IU when we were a powerhouse in the 70s and 80s and that is the IU they know and fell in love with and 30 years later are sending checks to support it. With basketball and football both being down the last 20 years, that is several decades worth of folks filtering through IU that are not as in love or fanatical with IU sports and we will see the impact of that down the road if we don't turn the corner quickly with basketball first and football second. While I think we can improve the product on the field and court without massive investment in facilities, those things do matter and we need to keep up with the arms race in every sense Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I think that is kinda the point some have made. If our sports teams, mainly football, make more money and are wildly profitable without outside donations, the revenue is more valuable because it is controlled and can be done with as the school pleases without outside influence. Under that scenario they have way more power to do as they see Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

If he knew of the bribe, which he had to have, he is guilty. They should at least make the family give the money back before thinking about admitting him Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Yep! One game, but I think that is our best lineup. Combines skill with effort. When that lineup was on the floor together they looked good. Al and McBob didn't do much offensively but they played hard on D and it made the difference Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Final : Indiana 75 - Minnesota 71 | RoJo Career High

Can't believe we pulled this one out. Great job by 3 guys:) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
The only player that is doing well under Archie is Morgan. How is it that almost no one else is finding success? That's concerning that we can't look at anyone else and think they will see a bright future here Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Sad part is he is just one of many many undersized guys we have played at the 4 and 5 over the last 20 years Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

If race plays center for us next year I sure hope he can grow a few more inches. Not many players can play the 5 in the bigten as a skinny 6'7". He is hartman light in terms of size Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Davis, for a starting bigten player, he is without a doubt unathletic comparatively Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

What is he though? He looks to be a skinny 6'7" when standing next to Davis. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Yep! Wouldn't mind seeing him start over Al, newkirk or johnson Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

IUBB at Wisconsin - 1/2/18 @ 7:00 E.T.
MikeRoberts replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
This isn't the typical Wisconsin team, we have to kick them while they are down. I know we are down too, but this is as good of an opportunity as ever to grab a win at the Kohl center Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Yep, I was bored and went back in my DVR to watch the IU vs Kansas game from last year, one of his first games as a Hoosier and it was like watching a totally different player. He was flat out awesome and then he continually got worse under Crean and then Miller. Not sure how that happened but I think a better Cujo is still in him and he might just find it again Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I understand your point but cannot believe this. We have a good amount of talent and experience on this team, they just haven't put in maximum effort each game and they haven't excelled in Archie's new system yet. Can he get them to play with effort on every play in every game and play within themselves and the system? If he can we should be a tourney team, just unlikely based on what we have seen and the 6 early losses. Point being, I don't think it is a lack of talent or lack of guards or bigs etc, we have the team to win 18 games Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Yep, he showed during the Duke game what he is capable of but that sucks because he rarely plays like that. He could be an Ethan Happ for us, smart, solid footwork and a workhorse near the basket but will always be lacking in the athleticism department and often effort and determination Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
