  1. Well it was "all star break." Probably went to the beach or Vegas for a few days. :)
  2. No. I think then most people would assume he'd stick with Michigan. The only thing that could make him leave is "going home." Otherwise, what's the point.
  3. So like once every few days? :)
  4. Anyone see Brad at Dunkin decked in his IU gear? :)
  5. Multiple incidents I have heard. Multiple domestic violence incidents I have not. Is there published evidence of that? Not saying he’d be a good hire (don’t need the baggage) but let’s at least be fair about what he’s accused of.
  6. “He’s been at three programs.” Dude obviously can’t keep a job. :)
  7. Gentlemen. If it's on the interweb is has to be true. It's like a law or something.
  8. Woodson’s “retirement” was forced by Woodson himself seeking assurances for a 5th year. Simple as that.
  9. The Brad Stevens conversation with Dolson is really short, simple and sweet. "Hey Brad, if you haven't heard, we have a spot opening up. Any interest?" At this point, Scott knows if Stevens is in or out. We know his possible timeline is before the NCAA tourney heats up. Interestingly, while it is quite early, we have had no substantiated reports of agent contact with any other coach -- just a bunch of this is who they may target. Might be a little early for that though. We are just in a recruiting dead period.
  10. Yeah. That is the problem with only look at the “record.” Results matter, butt the real question is what foundation produced those results? Was it just luck? Crean’s foundation was crumbling. Woodson never bothered to build a foundation. You look at candidates who have success at multiple locations because they can build that foundation — May, Cronin, Pitino. Archie only had success at one location.
  11. President of the Chris fan club joins the chat. :) Give it a rest dude.
  12. Oh come on. That was funny. :) Cruel, but funny.
  13. The way the brackets played out, It was essentially for the gold medal. Was simply spectacular.
  14. From what the players say, it’s actually a spot on re-creation.
  15. Simple. Coach Cig clone. :) My own preferences: Understands building a program and a culture is a process. Executes that process to perfection. Winning is a result of that process Never satisfied. Enjoy the "win" for 24 hours max, then back to business. Self-evaluation and isn't afraid to adjust. Doesn't get locked into his scheme, but will adjust based on the talent available. Can assemble a group of misfit toys and get them to play well -- multiplication instead of addition. Can motivate his players, because 18-21 year olds need motivation. Is no nonsense, but isn't an a-hole.
  16. This is the ultimate "Team" Speach. :)
  17. If it's on the internet, It's true. Don't you know that. :)
  18. Unlike the professional leagues, I don't think there are any NCAA or Conference rules about seeking out coaches or coaches seeking out opportunities. However, I suspect most preliminary work is done on a clandestine basis via agents. Any agent worth anything, is on the phone to Scott trying to get his guy on "the list," if only to get an increase from his current school. If you're a guy like May, you really want to find out if you're 1 or 2, or 3-5 -- so you know how serious to approach you extension at Michigan. If you're a lesser know guy out of left field, you let him know there is interest and sell your guy. Scott is doing the reverse. Looking down his list and calling agents saying "what if?"
  19. In our situation (with no NCAA tournament in our future), I think they would at the end of the regular season, before the conference tournament, if the new guy doesn't have his own tournament obligations (that's your Brad Stevens story). Get a jump on the staff, portal and roster. Otherwise, nothing get's announce before the new guy is available to actually start the job -- which is most likely. So earliest would be Monday or Tuesday after the First Round of NCAA, unless the guy make a deep run (Dusty May, et. al.).
  20. Not to sound like Cathy but some of you don’t understand how organizations work. Scott isn’t the king. The overall direction of the athletic department is provide by Pam and the Board. He has to work within those parameters. They can dictate criteria to Scott like no dudes with off court issues (Fitzgerald, Beard, etc.). If Quinn wants Woodson, guess what, it’s Woodson. It’s an abuse of power by Quinn, but Scott’s only choice is to comply or resign. Basically, Scott makes recommendations, the Board makes decisions. When you have meddlers at the Board and President level, you get what we have got the past 20+ years.
  21. If you believe Cathy, Woodson asked for assurances about year 5 which forced Dolson’s hand. Otherwise everything was supposed to take place at the end of the season.
  22. That’s just too big of a skeleton in today’s world. Kind of same issue with Beard. Anything having to do with abuse of women is a hard no for most people.
  23. Like I said, no disrespect to Creighton. I just think IU with the right coach (even sometimes with the wrong coach) can attract a few studs. We have in the past.
  24. Saw the last part of that game. No disrespect to Creighton, but he looks like he could improve at a place like IU that can attract big time players. Get over the hump, so to speak.
