  1. He said IU didn't contact HIM. IU was in contact with his agent multiple times to gauge his interest.
  2. He'd have to make the tourney first...something he's only done 8 out of 18 times.
  3. When has Crean ever "poached" any recruits? Usually he's the one getting his lunch money taken away.
  4. Just can't get anything to drop.
  5. Maybe not a popular opinion, but I don't want him anywhere near this program. Let him go be someone else's headache. A nice gesture on his part to be at this game today, but his time here is finished.
  6. No wonder we're giving up so many 3's.
  7. Totally believable. It doesn't help that there are countless pictures/GIF's of Crean making weird faces and acting like a lunatic.
  8. Miller is not awkward. He is a basketball coach who is confident in himself and his ability to teach what he knows. Crean was awkward, and once you got past his "vision," it was usually just a bunch of baseless drivel and confusing platitudes.
  9. Sampson and Davis both won 21 games with their first teams. I think Miller is definitely capable of that.
  10. We should send him a card telling him we've been thinking of him a lot. A whole lot.
  11. These teams accomplished what they did because their coaches are winners. Crean is a loser. Winners embrace challenges. Losers make excuses. Winners keep winning because they can adjust; losers fail because they can't or don't want to.
  12. All the whining from Purdue fans about how it was practically a home game for Kansas...didn't seem to bother Oregon.
  13. For their sake, I hope they set the bar a little higher than that.
  14. I wasn't trying to say that. A blueblood doesn't keep Mike Davis after back to back years of no postseason (and probably doesn't hire him to start with). A blueblood doesn't let that coach intimidate the university into feeling like they have to hire a minority. A blueblood doesn't bring in a coach under investigation and let his impending punishment handicap them, then self-report him for something as silly as phone calls and let it nuke the program. A blueblood doesn't give Tom Crean a 10-year contract and then extend him after a Sweet 16 run, then let him coach 2-3 years past his expiration date. I like Archie Miller and I think he can be great here. I just hate the narrative that we had to settle because we weren't good enough for our top targets. But when you look back over the last 15 years, we've kind of brought it on ourselves.
  15. We can't blame Glass for what Sampson left us in, but if we go a full decade without a Final Four, we deserve it. We kept Mike Davis for too long, hired a known cheater, then kept Tom Crean for too long. We aren't in the conversation with the bluebloods anymore because we don't act like a blueblood.
  16. Good thing we kept Tom Crean for so long. If timing was the reason we didn't get Donovan, then Glass blew it two years ago when he chose to keep a proven failure that's not wanted by any high major program now. I'm intrigued by Miller, but not overly excited. I want to be big-time. It pisses me off how the national media repeatedly scoffed at us for even thinking we could get an NBA coach. Miller may make us elite, but it's far less of a sure thing.
  17. They're dragging it out until Roy retires so they can claim the new staff had nothing to do with it.
  18. Didn't look at it that closely. Yeah, I'd say it's him.
  19. The account isn't verified, but then again, I'm not sure how popular you have to be to get an account verified.
  20. "State champs." LOL. That's the most Purdue thing ever.
  21. I think this NIT run has been better for the team than losing in the first or second round of the NCAA's would have been.
  22. Arizona's postseason history is littered with heartbreaking collapses, but usually it doesn't happen until they're in the Elite 8. I remember watching them lose to Illinois in overtime after being up 15 with about 4 minutes left. I would never get over that.
  23. 3 intense games tonight....and an epic beatdown. lol
  24. Last weekend against MSU, Kansas was only up by 1 with 12 minutes to go. They ended the game with a 36-17 run. Tonight against Purdue, it was 58-54. They outscored them 40-12 after that. I wish we could do that to teams.
