Off topic, Texas A&M down 30-3 at half, at home, to 3-6 South Carolina. Not a typo. -
We look very average. Not sure if injuries are catching up with us or the pressure of being ranked so high is just starting to take a psychological toll. Any OSU fan watching us right now is probably salivating.

Does it seem like we're suddenly having a lot of trouble converting 3rd and 1's/3rd and 2's the last few weeks?

It's a more accurate way of ranking teams, because it uses actual data and strength of opponents. The AP is full of voters who don't even watch basketball and others who let their personal biases get in the way.

We were actually above Alabama in Kenpom coming into this game. Defense will be a problem all year for them because they give up so many second chance points.

Fouling Smith in the backcourt when they're in the bonus and going under screens that leave him wide open is a really good way to get beat.

Oakland sure bit off a mouthful the first week of the season with games against Michigan, Purdue and now Houston. After scoring 77 against Purdue, they have 17 at the half against Houston tonight.

191 in Kenpom, preseason favorite to win the Horizon league. Kind of a low-fat cupcake.

Aguilar likes to kick his feet out in front of him every time he shoots. At some point he's going to connect with one of our guys defending him and it will be a foul on us.

Didn't realize Milwaukee was the preseason favorite to win the Horizon League. Since everyone loves Kenpom comparisons, they're about 20 spots lower than Oakland.

Here's the rest of the month: at FSU Butler at home at Florida Gulf Coast Gonzaga (neutral) Iowa State or Marquette (neutral) This could get ugly if we don't figure something out soon.

Also, we won't have NET rankings for another month, but a 23 point neutral site win is going to look real nice on our team sheet, even if Marquette doesn't turn out to be anything special.
