  1. Hopefully the Hall will have a little more energy and the team will feed off of it. The place was an absolute morgue tonight.
  2. DeVries was pissed after the game Sunday. My guess is the last few days of practice were rough and we're seeing the effects of it now.
  3. In November, that can mean one of two things: 1) Last few days of practice featured a lot of running, or 2) The team is under-conditioned. Based on how our first three games went, I'm leaning toward #1.
  4. First year in D-1, and located two states away? Does this team have a coach, or someone on its staff, who is a distant relative of someone on our staff? Did they grow up near Bloomington and dream of getting to walk into Assembly Hall on gameday? Was Longwood unavailable, and we looked at this and said "close enough"? Or, (more likely) is this another example of someone in our athletic department scouting out the dregs of D-1 in search of easy wins?
  5. We need to schedule all games with their impact on metrics in mind, not because of some obscure connection with an assistant coach. I think this regime has done a better job of it than the last three, but still some work to be done.
  6. Nice to get the win, but the turnovers have to stop.
  7. Well, I think we're going to score more than 46 points this time.
  8. It's November. I know we're still getting used to being good at football, but it's far more likely to be rainy/snowy/windy or some combo at this time of year than early in the season.
  9. Really nice to get a win on the road against a Power 5 team. Hope we can drill Butler later this week and get some payback for that horrible game a year ago.
  10. Kenpom didn't seem to like them giving up 79 at home to a MAC team. Defensive rank dropped 8 spots.
  11. Can't help but feel like this was karma for laughing at Purdue's 10 point win over Oakland.
  12. They've made 8 straight shots...they have to miss one eventually, right?
  13. Not overly concerned, but getting irritated.
  14. Finally reached 50 points, about 10 minutes later than we've become accustomed to reaching it.
  15. This timeout probably should have come about 2 possessions earlier.
  16. Every team has buy games, but I'm always curious how we find a team like this. I always thought Crean and Miller scoured the Kenpom rankings on safari for teams that consistently ranked below 300 because they needed those easy wins for job security. I doubt Woodson cared enough to put his own schedule together, and probably couldn't have found Kenpom if you gave him the web address. For this one, I'm convinced somebody in our athletic department reads this board and got a laugh out of our Tim Priller discussions. Would be quite a coincidence otherwise.
  17. At Minnesota will be a good litmus test for this staff. Will we take care of business against a bad team on the road, or will we be subjected to the usual excuse-making about how it's so hard to win on the road in the Big Ten, with heaping praise for Minnesota's roster full of nobodies, and how it was only a matter of time before everything came together for them? (Apologies for the rant. My IU basketball PTSD kicks in at weird moments.)
  18. Nobody plays down to its competition quite like Michigan.
  19. A&M is going to win. That game is turning into an SEC wet dream: huge comeback for A&M, and a chance to prop up 1-6 in the SEC South Carolina.
  20. Let little Mendoza take it from here. We don't need big bro getting knocked around any more today.
  21. Mendoza keeping the ball and taking all these sacks has me convinced he's got the Heisman on his mind and doesn't want incomplete throws.
  22. Three possessions nuked today by Mendoza taking sacks.
