    Digital Size Measuring Contest

That would be a fun list to see
  4. How long ago was that?  The cars didn't rattle my house this year, seems like maybe last year too?
  5. It already started, here in St Pete.  I live about 4 miles from where they race.  The new cars are quiet....relatively speaking of course.
  6. Thanks for swaying him back to IU.  Take us to the promised land Yogi!

    2015 NFL Draft Thread

I thought Polian hated defensive players, turns out Irsay is the common denominator.  Why???  Maybe we can score 40 each game next year, but if the other team scores  50 we'll lose every time.  It's the old Cam Cameron theory

IU and the Maui Classic 2015

Of course they will, every season they are highly ranked and then fail against teams outside the Big 12.  I ain't scared

IU and the Maui Classic 2015

Kansas loses outside of the Big 12.  They're lucky they play in that conference.  I'd like to think we'll be the favorites

    2012-2013 team or 2015-2016 team?

Yep.  He was a great free throw shooter except for crunch time too.  Great guy, but he was the weak link on that team.  This team seams much deeper.   Also, a senior point guard is a million times better than a freshman point guard.  I have great expectations for this season

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

Kids from the midwest are great.  To limit recruiting is faulty.  The reason why is because of stereotypes.   To say that a kid from the midwest is more fundamentally sound is a stereotype.  To say that kid A from the midwest will be a better than kid B from elsewhere simply because he's from the midwest will get you into a lot of trouble.  Stereotypes get you into trouble.   For every Max Hoetzel you give me, I can give you a Victor Oladipo.  For every Jordan Hulls you give me, I can give you a Derrick Elston.  Judging a kid's ability based upon where he's from is faulty.   Your heels are planted firmly in your midwest dirt.  Mine are planted firmly in my sand.  This is going nowhere.  Have a great day.

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

Interesting, I hadn't seen that map before.  Looks like a lot of east coast kids for the best team too.  Do you have the maps from previous years?  Obviously this year was skewed by two midwest teams, an abberation.   I agree there's great talent in the midwest.  I disagree that we should only recruit the midwest.  As the map shows, there's talent outside the midwest too.  I don't understand why anybody would want to limit recruiting.

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

I never said I don't want these kids gocolts, read my posts again.  I just think it's foolish to restrict recruiting to one area.

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

How have I shifted?  Why insist that I have zero clue?  Why do some people attack instead of read and respond?  Jeez....and gocolts hasn't even joined in yet to bash and attack....this is only going to get ugly for some reason.  I hate that.   I'm out.

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

The last ten NCAA tournament Most Outstanding Players   Tyus Jones (Minnesota) Shabazz Napier (Massachusetts) Luke Hancock  (Virginia) Anthony Davis  (Chicago) Kemba Walker  (New York) Kyle Singler  (Oregon) Wayne Ellington  (Pennsylvania) Mario Chalmers  (Alaska) Corey Brewer  (Tennessee) Joakim Noah  (New York) Dominated by Midwest kids?

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

I have the same position.   Haven't you been reading?   I proved that the best players in the world aren't dominated by midwest kids.  Then you said you don't care about pros.  Then, yes, I "shifted" my argument to show that the most dominant players in college aren't dominated by midwest kids either.  I believe I have proof on both.  There's been no change of position.  You aren't even listening.  I prove all your biased arguments wrong.   Did you look at the list of the main players on championship teams?  Your "midwest" assertion that was proven wrong?  Any comment on that one?

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

Care to test that theory?   The last 5 champions....   2015 Duke, the Indiana kid was limited in the title game, Quinn Cook (Washington DC) and Tyus Jones (Minnesota) led the win   2014 Connecticut, Shabazz Napier (Massachusetts)   2013 Louisville, led by Peyton Siva (Washington) and Luke Hancock (Virginia)   2012 Kentucky, led by Anthony Davis (Chicago)   2011 Connecticut, Kemba Walker (New York)   Typically the main players on championship teams?  There seems to be no typical area that they're from.  Davis is midwest, the west are from all over.  Why only focus on the midwest?  Why limit our recruiting?

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

Again, no.  The best players play in the best leagues.  Sometimes they peak later in life, but for the most part, the best players are payed big money because they're the best players.  These players are not dominated by Indiana players.   The best players in the college game are not dominated by Indiana kids either.  Duke had one Indiana kid of note (Plumlee wasn't good) and he played a limited role in their title game.  Last year's title team had none.   Derrick Elston and Jeremy Hollowell were recent 4 star Indiana kids who became nothing in college.  3 star Victor Oladipo and Will Sheehey from out of state played on the same team with those two and outshined them big time.   I'm not trying to say that Indiana kids are no good, I'm just saying that judging a kid because they're "from Indiana" as better than others is a very faulty recruiting theory.

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

It appears both sides are set in their opinion here.  I don't understand yours at all, but I understand that your heels are planted as firmly as mine.    We've seen plenty of highly ranked Indiana kids become nothing at IU, and we've seen plenty of underranked out of state kids become great players.  I'm glad we recruit nationally and hope we continue that trend.   Thanks for returning Yogi, let's get this season started!

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

Weren't we talking about players instead of coaches?  If the best players come from Indiana, they'd be dominating the best basketball in the world.  Fact is, they're not.   I really wish some of our fans would be able to see beyond their bias.  The best basketball players are scattered around the country (and into Canada).  They are not simply located within Indiana and surroundings.   As far as this season, Duke won the title.  One player of note was from the midwest.  One.

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

Aren't the best basketball players playing in the NBA?   Ok, if not, wouldn't the national championship teams be littered with mostly midwest kids?  Wouldn't the All American teams be only midwest kids?   In fact, there is talent spread throughout the country.  It's not always centered in the midwest.  I'm not sure why people insist that it is.
  23. Josh

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

If kids from the Midwest were better at basketball than everybody else, wouldn't the majority of NBA players be from the midwest?  I'm sorry, but your assertion is full of bias instead of fact.

    Crean Recruitment in the Midwest?

Then be prepared to be let down.  We seem to be recruiting more nationally than ever.   It doesn't matter if we're recruiting Indiana or Uranus imo.  Not sure why people keep saying it needs to be a limited recruiting footprint.     *edit*...this was off topic, sorry mods.  Welcome back Yogi!
  25. On the chair throwing incident:   "I heard this little voice yelling, 'Bob, Bob', and the only one I saw was this sweet little old lady.  Finally, she said "If you're not going to sit down, would you throw your chair over here?"
