  1. May I suggest an alternative hobby then?
  2. Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that.
  3. These pre-game threads always get me. THE GAME ISN'T UNTIL FRIGGIN SUNDAY. Love you all anyway.   On to the next one.
  4. The same reason Duke has 17 offensive rebounds.
  5. I hope when Dukie V retires, they raise his cold, lifeless body into the Cameron Indoor Stadium rafters next to Grant Hill's jersey. One of the all time Duke greats. (Is that too morbid?)
  6. What an embarrassment. This is the worst garbage basketball I have ever seen.
  7. Not Tim Tebow. Or so I've been told.
  8.   Who said anything about Paul Bunyan?    I'll take him in 2016 too by the way. A Davis-Bunyan one-two punch down low. Get Bunyan on campus and watch his vertical go up 9 inches during the summer.
  9. I heard he can chop down 300 tress in a morning, eats 20 lbs of pancakes for breakfast, and his companion is a big blue ox.
  10.   The verdict will be announced on Thursday. Until then, I suggest a cold shower.
  11.   I think that is the line of article, but really nothing we didn't know already.   He feels the heat as much as any other coach where expectations are high and results have not risen to meet them.
  12. “We use the word Oskee not just because of the word Oskee or that it’s a battle cry of the University of Illinois. But it also stands for something. That stance that we use that word for is our success equals the knowledge of being — the K, the knowledge, of being a great student-athlete on and off the football field. Understanding how to be supportive. How to understand to be successful in the classroom. The E stands for effort, giving all-out effort in everything you do each and every day. And then the last E stands for energy. Energy, being a positive influence on the people around you. Having that belief and that system as being a teammate, being a brother, the band of brothers."   -Tim Beckman   Edit: Here's video of the wingnut at the podium delivering this ridiculous speech.   http://www.elevenwarriors.com/college-football/2015/07/56758/video-tim-beckman-gives-rambling-explanation-of-illinis-use-of-oskee
  13. The other day, I received a very large Amazon package. My wife usually orders things for the house so I had no idea what was in it. Big packages can be fun so I opened it up as soon as I got it inside. It was filled with diapers and baby wipes. That was a bit underwhelming even though I knew we needed them. I had the same feeling after hearing about this IU commitment and then coming here .
  14. Vacating all wins (football and basketball) from the period of fraudulent academics would be a nice start.
  15. I'm not going to count on any freshman to contribute much besides Bryant. We may have to wait another year to see what OG is able to provide.
  16. Any video out yet for those of us who didn't watch the Derby game live?
  17. One and done is difficult for a player on the lower end of the top 25 of their class (ask JBJ) but it is certainly possible. You have to out-play all those other kids, plus sophomores/juniors/seniors and international prospects.
  18. I don't think we will ever see two bigs on the court for more than a few minutes at a time. Need to spread the floor with our shooting/driving ability and can't have two guys dragging their defender into the lane.
  19.   Doesn't Buckley write all/most of the letters? Either way, I hope they didn't cheap out on the envelopes like George Costanza.
  20.   It may be a football school but SEC money goes a long way. Of course, Big Ten money goes a long way too...
  21.   This is a good idea. We should form a sample letter so everyone can copy/paste their message to the trustees. Something like this:   "Honorable Trustees,   Please boot this Crean joker. What is his deal? Honestly.   Signed,   [insert name here]"
  22.   My wife just called me at work to tell me about Dakich getting all over Purdue. Someone needs to write down the direct quotes and start a new thread.
  23.   What kind of student is taking money out of their beer / pizza express budget to buy club head covers?
  24.   I see where you're coming from but I don't think my answer would change if we end up hiring one of those three. It's time to start rolling the dice on coaches until we find one that consistently succeeds here. We know Crean isn't that guy, so why wait? If it ends up being one of Cuonzo Martin / Frank Haith / Scott Drew then I probably wouldn't be thrilled but sometimes a guy looks mediocre until he's in the right situation. And if it isn't the right situation, time to move on again.   I'd rather ride the coaching carousel for a while than stick with someone who isn't getting the job done.
  25.   I would fire Crean and take whoever Glass hired. I'm not sure why the candidate pool has to be limited to the three you mentioned. Presumably, Glass would not hire a mediocre basketball coach. But, then again, who knows.   If the next coach fails, I would fire Glass as well.
