He doesn't get why everyone is so excited about a guy who has great football recommendations, but no evident recommendations from basketball players. Final NLI signing date for 2017-2018 season is May 17th. Final day to withdrawal your name from the NBA Draft is May 24th. Therefore, oversigning is a necessary part of college basketball recruiting. Really not much discussion needed. Hope CAM can avoid it as much as possible, but it's not going anywhere, in my opinion. As for stockpiling scholarships, it makes sense to withhold one or two instead of signing a class of 5+ kids, but I'd rather invest a scholarship in a four year player who is comfortable learning and playing major minutes as an upperclassmen than withhold it to avoid oversigning. Lemme see if I understand your points from your last couple posts: 1) You don't want Crean's players on the floor, but; 2) Gelon and Priller should play more (let's ignore they were Crean's players), in place of; 3) Two players with the potential to be All B1G next year, Thomas Bryant and Rob Johnson, who you think should; 4) Leave the team for a year to readjust their attitudes while sitting on the bench somewhere fulfilling their transfer obligation, and then; 5) Return to Indiana to sit on the bench for another year to fulfill their transfer obligation, at which point Bryant and Johnson will have surpassed their alotted 5 years to play 4 seasons, meaning both will be ineligible to continue playing college basketball.
