  1. There’s no need for a top recruit to commit in the fall.
  2. I hate Doyel, but if anything that article should bring Indiana fans comfort that our university president is personally invested in our program’s continued compliance with the law and NCAA rules. Someone can generally irk you, but still do things well occasionally. This was a great piece, in my opinion.
  3. That's also after the update after we signed him I believe... pretty sure he was unranked or something I see mentions of "two star" in this thread. That'd imply something really way out of the top 200
  4. During working hours, it's the only sanctuary for someone to find peace, quiet, and a sliver of happiness.
  5. Economy seats only though. None of the lie flat extra business. He'll sit in back with the rest of the poor college kids!
  6. Yeah I got that, no worries! We're gonna see more and more of this though.
  7. Word is they just had extra cash lying around and figured they could at least help the kid out with travel from Europe and such.
  8. 1) Givony is very well respected and good at his job. Draft Express does a great job evaluating players. 2) The NBA drafts of potential in many situations 3) Givony probably has WAY more information about Moore and NBA interest in him than we do at this point I agree though, face value, this is absolutely absurd, but Moore fits the bill for what the NBA wants to take a chance on during the draft. We'll see how he plays!
  9. If Clifton is projected by anyone as a first rounder in 2019, he'll have options to go pro in 2018, even without an overly impressive freshman year. Look no further than OG for an example of an off the radar guy exhibiting elite athleticism and potential without really demonstrating high level performance in college who was drafted. No bashing OG's time at IU, he just didn't really have a chance to demonstrate his full potential due to injury, in my opinion.
  10. As you've pointed out, need the evidence, but this is definitely a load the cannons article.
  11. This is a huge relief, and significantly improves my expectations for the season.
  12. I don't like it either. Come out and say, "We have no reason to believe we are involved, and we are very disappointed that the NCAA has allowed this to happen." That's the fireball I want some coach to throw haha
  13. I'm worried about Romeo. Dad in charge of an AAU team, Romeo only considering Adidas schools, and Louisville's involvement in his recruitment. All reports indicate his family is holding everything close to the chest on his recruitment. I read that as a good family wanting privacy and protecting their son from parasites, but there's the other side to this as well; a family paid by Adidas through the AAU program who wisely don't open their mouths or their inner circle to anyone to protect their secret. I also have trouble believing that Archie knew nothing about how recruiting worked as an assistant for his brother at Arizona. It doesn't appear that he's played the game while at Dayton or since arriving Indiana. There are too many red flags in light of this FBI investigation for me to feel comfortable with the recruitment of Romeo Langford, but I hope that he and his family are part of that "20% of the top recruits" that Izzo cited as clean.
  14. Lavar just doing exactly what the shoe companies are doing right out in the open; making his athletes rich and directing them to the accommodating programs. He's an interesting character openly challenging the NCAA like he has. I respect it.
  15. Head coaches know everything that goes on with their program, AD's know everything that goes on within their department, and university presidents know everything to happens at their university. Tone at the top either allows or prevents cheating and misconduct of this complexity at all levels. Everyone in the chain of command is complicit in this, in my opinion.
  16. Almost no reason to change right, since both AAU and EYBL are about to be rocked it seems, but these "clean" schools will definitely have ALL of the leverage.
  17. Another interesting angle to this, Adidas and presumably the other shoe companies effectively damaged programs they have contracts with to promote ones that were willing to "play the game" with them. If I'm the innocent programs under the Adidas umbrella, I'm hitting them hard about contracts.
  18. I'm truly dumbfounded by your stance. The point that has been made is, "Holy crap, you mean Crean brought Indiana back from the Sampson era, brought in some top recruiting classes, sent five or so players to the NBA, made it to three Sweet Sixteens, and won the B1G outright twice, while remaining clean even though he was losing games and recruits to guys paying players and cheating by any means necessary?!" No one has said, "Wow, in light of all this, Crean is probably the best coach we've ever had, and he fulfilled all of our goals as a fanbase."
  19. You're right. I should have said basketball program. They have been ranked the most valuable program the past few years.
  20. Why so sad? Sounds like there's a job opening at Playboy Mansion. I hear the benefits are great!
  21. Dude is just playing the game. If we're predicting where a 5 star will go, and our option is Indiana or Kansas, I'm picking Kansas everytime. That is exactly how a vast majority of our recruiting battles with Kansas have turned out. Have you seen the facilities they provide to their players?! http://www.kansascity.com/sports/college/big-12/university-of-kansas/article104426576.html We all realize that Kansas is 1) a blue blood 2) has an equally insane fanbase 3) has a basketball arena whose history and prestige rivals Assembly Hall 4) has a proven Hall of Fame coach 5) sends players to the NBA regularly and 6) has had significant recent success,, right?? I love Indiana, and the home school ties are probably strong given the reports from our board members, but damn, Kansas is not who I want to be fighting against for Romeo.
  22. If he's not clean, he may not get a chance to go anywhere with this investigation going on.
