(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati
Walking Boot of Doom replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Getting the commitment from Phinisee means we'd have a solid four year PG that also supports Archie's inside out narrative. It's a win. The bigger win, in my opinion, is that this would complete the need-based recruiting for 2018 really early on in the recruiting cycle, and allow the staff to focus only on the longshots of Moses Brown and Romeo Langford. -

We'll win if our talent level improves. I love circles. -
2017-18 Season Expectations
Walking Boot of Doom replied to Dalton26's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Cons: PG is still an uncertainty, and the team will be adjusting to Archie's offense and defense. Pros: One of the most talented teams Archie has coached, we have a handful of strong juniors and seniors, and the B1G doesn't appear to be very deep this year. I think we'll end up in that 19-21 win season range. -
(2018) G/F Damezi Anderson to Detroit Mercy
Walking Boot of Doom replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Agree with everything you said. We'll see how Archie's execution of the same philosophy Crean employed plays out. Optimism/past performance imply it will be better. It's also reasonable to assume Archie won't try to "outsmart the room" like Crean always tried to do, as you articulated with your above examples. I always enjoy the dramatic highs and lows on here, see recruiting and the excitement over positionless basketball quotes. -

How many of you shuddered when you read this, "Miller’s teams at Dayton were known to play almost position-less basketball..."? -

Who's declaring/transferring around NCAA 2017?
Walking Boot of Doom replied to reconmkd's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's like you don't actually understand how things work. 1) Anyone who's worked in PR will tell you to control the information. His dad should have known better than to speak for him as he is making "adult" decisions. 2) It does not matter what level you believe he can play. The process allows him to receive unfiltered feedback from the NBA and people in the NBA who's opinions actually hold merit and carry weight. 3) There's a difference between coddling and not judging someone when you don't have complete or accurate information. Let you go. Anyone this quick to judge a 21 year old trying to make major life decisions is lacking understanding. Don't want nor need as part of our fanbase. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I can say it's a positive statement, not a bad thing. I cannot hope to begin to understand the remaining context. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

4 is expecting too little, 9 is probably too much. It's really hard to say if we're a bowl team without knowing the QB situation. Rest of the team is a 6 win team with competent QB play. We made it last year with pretty much the same QB situation though. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Cancel the expansions and renovations. We'll never be anything anyway. No point in trying. Just keep existing as we are and ignore the progress made in the past decade. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

"Ready or not, here I come (NBA)!" - Frank Jackson Kentucky and Duke both now have forced players who wanted to be one-and-done to pursue that goal. Makes me wonder how much longer this one-and-done factory approach can last. A much safer strategy would be for a player to go somewhere they won't be recruited over, in case they aren't ready after one year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

I don't think anyone was arguing about whether he's dirty. You said his antics hurt his team. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Do we need to list out all of the games where he's been critical to a Warriors win? Cuz it will take a while. He bothers me, but he's a damn winner. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
