  2. If you please, I think that kind of analysis would be appreciated for a few of the other coaches! Good read! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  3. Wrong. Fred will do anything it takes to keep Crean. This was a fake firing to cool down the seat. Crean will be back next year. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  4. Have you ever watched an NBA game? It's highly watchable.
  5. So you're saying we've hired Donovan, and Pap has confirmed? Great!
  6. Great article. Incredibly brave of the writer to share her story and perspective. A couple key quotes: 1) Alford has not learned In 2003, Alford lamented to Boers & Bernstein that “two lives have been affected” but was still loathe to admit Pierce’s role. Though Pierce had at the time of the interview already pleaded guilty to assault causing injury to the victim, Alford continued to back his player: “He’s done a tremendous job of handling things and he’s working awfully hard,” Alford said then. “Pierre is a great kid. He’s from a great home and this is a very unfortunate situation for him and the victim.” 2) Glass isn't going to hire him In firing football coach Kevin Wilson this past fall for allegedly mistreating student-athletes, Indiana athletic director Fred Glass had some notable comments. “What might be OK at other places, what might be OK in an industry, isn’t necessarily OK here,” Glass said, according to the Indy Star. “That doesn’t make me right or wrong, but I can tell you that I came at this earnestly and with the best interests of Indiana University at heart. I’ll tell you that I’m proud to be part of an institution that puts doing what it thinks is the right thing ahead of competitive success.”
  7. What does sending a priest to counsel the girl on whether or not to press charges imply?
  8. Let's assume for a second Alford innocently supported Pierre Pierce, believing he truly was innocent. And now let's assume for a second that he truly thought the victim needed the counsel of a priest and God's wisdom to aid her. 1) Why did the priest need to go talk to her if Pierre was innocent as Steve emphatically claimed? 2) Assuming he's an innocent do-gooder just trying to help, then he's a complete and total moron for taking such a hardline stance on the innocence of Pierce without knowing all the facts and for sending a priest to go talk to her. What professional doesn't understand the importance of perception? Assuming Alford is actually a great guy, I don't want a complete imbecile leading our program.
  9. Honestly believe no one would have ever developed a significant issue with him as the head coach of Indiana if he had taken the Zeller/Oladipo team to the Final Four. Even an Elite Eight loss with that team would have triggered feelings of significant disappointment.
  10. Quote from Crean on locking down in-state recruits: "Here’s the thing about recruiting, in Indiana or anywhere else: You better know what you’re navigating," he said. “It’s easy to paint with a broad brush, which is something fans do… It’s a business, so I know when a shoe company gets involved, know when a side deal gets cut with the family or a significant person in the family, I know those things. Every recruit is a case study onto itself. I don’t play in a naïve world. I made sure people who need to know know what we were dealing with. You have to have people, and this part moving forward is something I’ll pay attention to, is who’s lived a little bit what we’re dealing with. You’ve got to have somebody who gets it. Walls (around the state) are really hard to put up because it’s a two-way street." Shocking to many I'm sure, but I'm sure Indiana kids play the games that ruled them out of Crean's recruiting strategies. Maybe locking down the state and doing things the right way don't align like they used to...

  12. HI FRED! DON'T **** THIS UP!
  13. The more you repeat that you have a source, the less I believe you. Just saying.
  14. Yeah, after you questioned what I said about Alford's history, I told you to check out the report from the Preside of University of Iowa on the matter... http://news-releases.uiowa.edu/2003/april/040903skorton.html
  15. Damn, didn't know MSB was actually a BTB poster. You should let BTB livestream your draft decision. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. Sounds like the perfect thing for he and his family to say when asked as he is currently employed. But could also be the truth. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. Damn, wish he saw her at Kelley. That'd be somethin Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  18. I agree, but the Alford thing just... isn't that funny? I'm honestly confused how he even has a job, let alone one that pays him millions of dollars. It's sort of messed up. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. There isn't a best case. We'd have to cheer for someone who did some pretty despicable things when his player was accused of rape. I don't want to cheer for that man. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. Meeeeeehhh if Dakich had the university's best interests in mind, he wouldn't be lobbying for a guy with such a questionable moral past. Dakich cares about one thing and one thing only... Dakich. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. Makes you feel bad a bit. (I know, he made $3 million a year blah blah blah)
  22. Or Crean's demands are too high... I think that's more likely
  23. I think it was in jest. Guy tweeted at him saying we're going to throw everything we've got at Donovan to which Fran replied, "You won't." It's a challenge thrown around by the kids these days. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. If OKC is smart, they are going to trade Westbrook before his contract is up with the knowledge that he wants out. I doubt he finishes 2019 in OKC... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  25. Assembly Call did this poll which is quite funny... https://twitter.com/assemblycall/status/843811824013336576 Coach A = Crean (less first two seasons at IU, and only mentioned E8 instead of F4) Coach B = Alford Still going, but Coach A is winning with 56% of the vote.
