(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
Walking Boot of Doom replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Phinisee and Anderson aren’t Romeo Langford. He's that next level recruit that we’ve all seen leave the state lately. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Victor Oladipo - Memphis Grizzlies
Walking Boot of Doom replied to ccgeneral's topic in Hoosiers in the Pros
Holy ish this is fan bias at its worst. LeBron is possibly the greatest player of all time and has single handedly carried teams through the playoffs. Look at his first championship in Cleveland and what he did in the Finals. Absolute monster. To discredit him because of a perceived bias from the refs is incredibly naive. By his logic Romeo should be going to Kansas, then maybe Indiana, and certainly not Vandy. What an idiot. -

Who's Declaring/Transferring Around NCAA 2018
Walking Boot of Doom replied to HoosierCoop's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Definitely was the right move. I wasn’t saying this to her, but I didn’t think Troy had a chance at becoming a rotation player in the league. His development his first year out was incredible. Really excited to see how far he’ll make it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Who's Declaring/Transferring Around NCAA 2018
Walking Boot of Doom replied to HoosierCoop's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It was one mother versus a board of know it alls telling her her son was a POS ruining the team and that he wasn’t going to achieve his dream. No way she was going to react properly or hold a civil and open discussion where we changed her mind about her own child. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Who's Declaring/Transferring Around NCAA 2018

I liked Mama Williams. She was angry, but it seemed she had had a tough life. People ripped her son and said he’d never make it in the NBA. Well, who was the crazy one then? I’m ashamed of the way this board handled that situation. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando BtownBanners -

Who's Declaring/Transferring Around NCAA 2018

Pretty sure we saw this scenario last year where someone finalized their transfer and then entered their name in the draft. Have their backup option in play that way. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Sorry, I meant, I know we held some commitments last year. I was asking if anyone knows if he is a lean for somewhere else just waiting for an offer. Football recruiting is confusing. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
Juwan Morgan RETURNING For Senior Season
Walking Boot of Doom replied to Cheaney40's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
You don't need to be told you'll be drafted - he may be told that there's a summer league spot for him. I think that was similar to what led Troy and JBJ to leave. If a team tells Juwan we believe in you, need to work on these items with you, but want to do so within our organizaiton, he may have plenty of reason to leave. -
(2019) PF Matthew Hurt to Duke

You’re right, but I think if you play out your point here, you’re trying to mostly recruit high potential 3 stars and solid 4 stars to fill 7-9 of your scholarships over multiple years, and then fill in the gaps with the best talent you can get. Definitely not the UK approach, so I think we’re in agreement. My original point was that I don’t like the look of this recruitment. Too many rotten apples. I don’t want to play the dirty recruiting game for one year of a player. There’s a ton of risk that they get injured or struggle, and then you took on huge program risk for very little. I would love if we could redshirt someone from this class, but I don’t give that a high likelihood. Redshirting is so uncommon these days. There are way more avenues for a kid to get paid professionally than there were back when redshirting was possible, so delaying a year of marketing yourself doesn’t seem to be a popular first choice. Example: I think we all would have thought OG was a good freshman year redshirt candidate. He ended up having some real great performances on a national stage that catapulted him into discussions about his draft potential next year. Too much to gain as a player even in limited minutes to redshirt, in my opinion. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

(2019) PF Matthew Hurt to Duke
Walking Boot of Doom replied to goonaha's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
There are some players where you have to play a recruiting game I’d rather not play, and other recruits where it is not necessary. Also, I don’t want Indiana to take in the same recruiting strategy as Kentucky or Duke. Strong multi-year players with an occasional 5 star is a better strategy in my opinion. So recruit differently. I don’t like the company. All of those schools are playing dirty. Memphis had Cal, Pastner, and now Penny Hardaway at least in the top recruiting battles? I hope we stay clean. It’s just not worth it. UNC is the only one who seems to reap adequate benefits for the risks they’re taking. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando BtownBanners -

I have to go way back and find the post I made when I decided that Indiana made the most business sense. If he commits, I want to see if any of the post-commitment comments line up Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
