  1. There’s more than one way to win. DD can be a key to winning in one system and unnecessary in another. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  2. ... it’s an algorithm. It does so to balance class size and talent so that a class of 6 3 stars isn’t better than a class of 2 5 stars. If you want to know the ranking of a player, just look at the ranking. It’s honestly ridiculous how everyone on here thinks they are some kind of genius and considers the individuals who evaluate high school and college basketball for a living are morons. 5. If you’re in 247, I think there’s a diminishing factor as you add recruits. If you add the recruits in a different order I think you’ll observe different values for each. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  6. Alright, everyone state your name and address or be labeled a snowflake. We’ll meet in the old Waffle House parking lot. Battle Royale. May the best poster win. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando BtownBanners

  12. You can do quite well positioning yourself as a backup option. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. If the NCAA tells them they can’t risk their amateurism, but does nothing to prevent individuals and schools from essentially trying to sabotage their amateurism, that’s a pretty brutal environment to be pushed into. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. Kinda cool move by him not playing in an all star game for his team. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  16. Based on the copacetic nature of 99% of your post, and the general argument being exactly what I was trying to convey, I think you either misread my post or meant to say “I agree” or my original post is very poorly written. Either way, I agree :) Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  17. Garland is not overhyped. People are overestimating what two stud freshman can do on a team of literal mannequins. Vandy has a horrid team with a questionable coach. DG and Shittu are going to see double teams and intense defense all year next year, and there won't be much help their team can provide.
  18. In my mind, those schools and coaches are cheaters and I want no part of that. The kids and their families - honestly they're just victims of a system that incentives corrupt practices. They're complicit too, but the only reason they have to play by these rules is because the NCAA/NBA created the system essentially right in the way of their path forward. And when agents of this system offer them something, who are they to cry wolf?
  19. I don't like anyone receiving a job for reasons other than that they are the most qualified individual. That typically has a much more direct negative impact on others. I'm about an even playing field as well! The kids and families aren't responsible for enforcing that though.
  20. I think if everyone stops associating the implied willingness of a family to accept money and benefits being offered to them by almost every party they encounter with a lack of morality, we'll all be better for it. Is it against the NCAA rules? Yes. Is the NCAA clean and good? Meh. Does that make it acceptable? Well, no. Is it really hurting anyone? No. Personally, if these families are being offered loads of cash or benefits in return for their sons making a school or shoe company a ton of money, I have no problem with the families accepting. I don't think it makes them better or worse people at all either. AAU coaches and others in positions to manipulate others, not their child, accepting money... that feels much, much more deplorable. A school, who receives protections and support in their "business" from the NCAA, should respect the rules of the NCAA. I hope that Indiana chooses to follow these rules, regardless of others' choices.

  22. Wow. Not only are we going to land Romeo, but we might have him for two years because TJD and Brooks are both coming to Indiana! THings are looking up!
  23. Not trying to say Crean was a good coach - he did bring good levels of success though. I think the point you just made is the exact reason he stuck around so long. In CBB, there seem to be far, far more “bad” hires than “great” hires. Patience is key until your coach lets the floor fall out from under the team as happened last year. 25. I don’t believe Louisville is about to repent and commit to a life of piety. They’ll be back to normal in no time - not because of Coach X’s perceived skill above Coach Y, but because they’ll be employing more discrete means of their previous route to glory.
