  1. You must not have watched the rest of the series or noticed that he helped the Warriors remain one of the best teams in the league even with Curry out during the regular season. Who cares what path he took, he’s a champion. How can you say he doesn’t want to compete? What an asinine assumption about one of the top 20 players in his sport. It’s unreal listening to keyboard warriors call a guy who has worked his entire career to reach the pinnacle of his respective career “soft” for making a great decision for his career.
  2. Holy crap people actually trying to shame KD for wanting to play on the Warriors? Dude wants to win. No shame there. The guy took a pay cut to be there. The entire purpose of their job is to win championships. Looks like he made a pretty smart move. Plus, who the hell wants to spend their careers in cities like OKC and Cleveland?
  3. The headline says exactly that - Romeo chose Indiana, but Adidas made sure he stayed within Adidas.
  4. It was Tim’s team. Absolutely asinine to think he didn’t know the value of the sponsorship, especially when the Adidas sources told WaPo that it was made known to the three shoes companies that Tim Langford wanted a grassroots team sponsored by the highest bidder. WaPo also says the quotes between Pitino and Adidas about Langford are supported by text messages he provided them. WaPo ends the article expressing that no one associated with the team is speaking nor validating the sponsorship nor the claimed donation to a non-profit, but there doesn’t appear to be any signs of significant cash windfalls for the parties involved based on publicly available information. The article ends with, not surprising, the news that Twenty Two Vision is no longer running a team. Overall, it’s story that uses a high profile recruit to draw attention to a complex underground system that helps shape college basketball, and further establishes the depth and complexity in solving the corruption associated with it. None of this fits your nor our fan base’s narrative, because it’s a negative story about our recruit. Doesn’t mean it isn’t both factual and relevant. 6. 1) The best sources are the ones involved. Ricky P is arguably the best source on the planet. Not the smartest for putting this out there though. Very easy for a good attorney to pull this out and tear about his credibility when discussing what he does and does not recall. 2) I thought the article read dry and and factual. Professed ignorance is pretty plain commentary if they asked Tim directly about this. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  7. Meanwhile, we’re ripping Washington Post for poor journalism in the Romeo thread. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando BtownBanners
  8. He doesn’t have the handles of a point forward, the shot of a stretch 4, nor the post moves and strength of a dominant NBA interior players. He’s has all the tools to be a dominant and versatile college player, but he has to develop into the 3 and D mold for the NBA. Absolutely rooting for him, but just don’t see the NBA potential yet. Hope Archie and Schilling can get him there. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  9. Your sarcasm was not lost. “Locking down the borders” is an endless task. Nothing will seal or stamp it, and there will always be outliers. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  10. Except, it was good journalism. Sources willing to go on record, sound research, relevant, and not inflammatory. Our fans just don’t like it. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

  12. You quoted me, but it’s like you didn’t read it. I think we should recruit all those players listed. I also think it’s funny that our fanbase is so quick to dismiss any possibility of wrong doing in this situation with Adidas and Romeo’s father. Wouldn’t be the same reaction if he committed to Kansas. And based on all the information coming out, I’m very doubtful these AAU coach/recruit situations are all above ground. Feels naive to believe there isn’t a high likelihood of under the table extras. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. Sean Miller = Archie Miller’s brother. FBI Investigation = Jim Gatto, Adidas, and Rick Pitino all involved in recruiting Romeo. Adidas = the shoe company currently under investigation who had executives arrested. Once again, I get why everyone wants to just brush this under the rug, and very likely it never turns into anything. As for other schools involved, it’s just an indicator that a recruitment is dirty. Not saying we shouldn’t recruit players, just saying this concept that there’s no chance that the Langford’s played the game is ignorant, in my opinion. And I don’t like that when Indiana finally lands a top 5 recruit again, it happens during these current events, and then a hit piece like this comes out. It’s disconcerting. 14. No problem with KD going to the Warriors. He’s a winner who wants to win. Screw the concept of having to carry your own team. No sport works that way. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando BtownBanners
  15. I get everyone wants to just blow this off and pretend it’s nothing, but it’s not great with the backdrop of Sean Miller, FBI Investigation, and Adidas. I get that it’s “legal”, but it can very quickly cross the line. Also, it’s never just one thing, in my opinion. Let’s just get to the start of the season and enjoy Romeo before the NCAA decides to get tough on these kinds of things. Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando BtownBanners
  16. I think both Bryant and Troy made the right moves. You'll see them as mainstays on NBA rosters in the next couple years, in my opinion, and I don't think college was going to improve their stock further.
  17. Once again - I did not like anything surrounding Romeo Langford's recruitment. I hope this doesn't turn into anything serious, but Lousiville, UK, UCLA, and Vandy all being involved should give everyone reason for concern...
  18. To this point you’ve spoken in riddles and roundabout manners. You’ve added no value, and only been a prick. On Rabjohns, I too think he’s not worth the money. But only a fool gives away valuable information for free. If you act like this in your job, I can’t imagine you have many people willing to help you out either. 19. Same with every single player we have in the NBA Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. We're not going to get anywhere with that. Why do you want to change the dunk contest? What about it don't you like? This year you had DSJ, Vic, and Mitchell, all young stars with awesome dunking ability, participate.
  21. The money season ticket holders pay and fans pay to watch an entire season of a healthy player is way more than an All-Star weekend ticket. No point in even risking it - there’s no value. Plus, the dunk contest has had a revitalization in recent years. It’s been extremely entertaining. I think you’re forgiving/glorifying the past while being overly pessimistic about the present. Availability bias. This game has never been about the game of basketball - it’s always been a business to make money. That said, the NBA is in a golden era currently. That certainly doesn’t mean there aren’t minor flaws, flopping, that need to be addressed. We’re watching an era of the NBA where you have the Warriors and Rockets changing the way the game is played, dominating the West, any team LeBron is on becomes a Title contender in the East, young exciting teams like Philly, Boston, blossoming Minnesota, a large number of prolific players all playing at once and many competing in the playoffs, and young wizard coaches like Brad Stevens developing. The NBA also seems to have one of the best community oriented relationships between the commissioner, owners, players, and fans of any of the professional sports leagues. My choice is to look at the overwhelming tide of positives - it’s more fun that way! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. I don't know how to explain this clearly, but reading all of your LeBron posts and statements like these just make it sound like you really dislike the NBA and the players. There are very logical reasons for superstars to avoid the gimmicky All-Star weekend events like injury risk. Also, it's an opportunity for some of the "specialists" to showcase their unique talents. The NBA versus professional dunkers is interesting, but I have a feeling the NBA will lose everytime since they aren't practicing trick dunks year round.
  23. You were... How is the dunk contest not about the best dunkers in the NBA demonstrating their dunking skills?
  24. This feels like some weird new reason to complain about LeBron Enviado desde mi iPhone utilizando BtownBanners
