  1. I would guess more than one game. Maybe two?* *hopefully it is clear that I am kidding
  2. Holding young men accountable for their actions is a good way to make sure they aren't jackasses when they are older. I figured in today's world where coaches are constantly criticized (for good reason) for letting their players get away with lots of things that this would be looked at positively. This clearly doesn't rise to the level of other things happening right now, but that doesn't mean that it should go without punishment. For whatever reason you are adverse to it but I think a game suspension for behaving like they did is an appropriate response and sends a message.
  3. I think a game suspension for acting like jackasses at Disney World, not only at the detriment to people just trying to their job but in front of other families and people there to have a good time, is the appropriate punishment.
  4. My friend and I will be there tonight! We usually get a six pack of upland and a small pizza from mother bears and eat from the parking lot to reenact a tailgate, but my friend is concerned about the cold and we may have to sit that tradition out this time. I am hoping I can convince him that some things, like traditions, are more important than feeling your fingers. Go Hoosiers!
  5. Sometimes I feel like I am taking crazy pills. My understanding is that in the past three years, we have gotten our top priority (Romeo, TJD, Leal). We miss out on a player to their home state and I come here and posters act like we haven't had what I perceive as good success in the recruiting trail since Archie joined. We will likely have TJD next year, which probably factored into Garcias decision plus he is from Milwaukee. IF he chooses to play for his hometown, bully for him and I hope he does well when not playing IU. We criticize kids from Indiana who leave their home state to play for other programs, but can't understand why a kid is staying home, something people supposedly want more kids from Indiana to do? There are lot of prospects next year that we are in a comfortable position with and that are from the state. Archie has shown he is able to recruit the state at a high level and I think we are in fine shape, even if we don't get all of them (we won't).
  6. I think "journalistic integrity" is just a veil for something else. What that is I have no idea. I have speculations, but I don't think that is very fair for me to conjure up scenarios that are probably wrong. The reason for this tin-foil hat theory is that I don't think he has done much in the past year (granted I don't listen to him often) that would warrant a week suspension. Most of the stuff you guys are citing are from months ago, so why would he be suspended now?
  7. You are correct. The source I used only listed the regular season results. My mistake.
  8. In football, IU has beaten Rutgers for the past three years. In IUBB, Rutgers did beat IU once last year and again in Crean's final season the year before.* However, IU won the last match up last year by 16 and are 6-2** against them since Rutgers joined the B1G. *And as @Uspshoosier pointed out again in 2018 in the B1G Tournament **6-3 including B1G Tournament games
  9. Update on my throwback Rose Bowl sweater. It arrived today. I believe this bodes well for our beloved Hoosiers come Saturday.
  10. While it certainly helps, I truly believe that where you go to school doesn't really indicate how intelligent you are or what opportunities you will have moving forward. Speaking strictly from the legal profession, I have worked with people that went to schools that were ranked lower than where I went that were fantastic attorneys and great legal minds. I have also worked with people that went to ivy leagues that had the same or similar job that I had and who didn't separate themselves from their peers like one might think. I do understand the optics of it though, but I am not really sure what any administration can do about it. Not saying something can't be done. I just don't know what can be done as it looks like IU is certainly spending money.
  11. Am I wrong to think it will be difficult to get a PG Like Curbelo to commit to IU while RP is still here? Especially with the possibility of Lander committing the following season? Whoever commits is likely to be back up next year and if Lander commits will likely be pushed further down the depth chart. He certainly would be a welcomed addition, but I just don't see someone like him, who is clearly skilled enough to play and possibly start somewhere, wanting to commit to a situation where he will be down the depth chart for a few years.
  12. I couldn't hear anybody over the sound of me opening up all these beer cans.* * - I realize this is a visual medium but it doesn't work as well that way.
  13. Just impulse bought a 68 Rose Bowl throwback. Wife may get mad, but assuming that we make it this year it will all be worth it.
  14. Hey, but at least we saved the tax payers a dollar a paycheck!
  15. I know he does a lot of stuff like this and is actively involved with amazing philanthropic organizations (my wife is on the Little Wish committee and he did a lot for them), and he should be commended for those efforts and his generosity in those areas. That doesn't ignore that fact that he is still extremely rude to people that he disagrees with and is confrontational just for the sake of it. He also has a great habit to lump large groups of people into a single narrative that fits his way of thinking (which is also common in the political world). You can do all the nice things in the world for a very sympathetic population (which again, should be commended), but you can't expect people to like you or think you are a good person if you are rude to them and act that way. For the record, I listened to DD everyday from college through most of law school. For me, within the past three or four years he has went from a guy that reminded me of sitting with my dad at a bar talking about sports (dad's also from Gary) to a typical shock jock radio guy. If that is your style, cool I guess, but you can't be surprised when it may turn some people off.
  16. If you were a student at the time of the extension (I was too), it should be apparent why he got the extension. He was the most beloved man on campus. He got a team that stunk the three years prior and took IU to the first sweet sixteen in a decade and had the number one team in the country going into 2013. If you saw the clear and apparent issues at that time, especially if as a student, then you were one of the few.
  17. I think getting Romeo sets the precedent of 5* Indiana kids coming here. If Romeo came in a couple years as opposed to last year, I bet his story would have been a lot different.
  18. Ken Nunn loves IU Basketball!
  19. I get overly optimistic and excited about IUFB every year and have done so basically my entire life. It is a sickness and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy, but I love IU and IUFB. I am waiting for the year where we shock the world and do something amazing. It probably will never happen, but when it does I will be the happiest guy in the world. If you are in the student section, it will be a fun experience and enjoy it while you can!
  20. Bit of a baby face on him, so you can assume that he is going to keep growing too.
  21. I don't follow as closely or know the summer timelines, but why is he playing at a court in Ohio? Are they off until the semester starts?
  22. As someone who was in the same IU class as Jordy and also turns 30 next year, I resent your last sentence.
