  1. Those types of charges are the least athletic plays in basketball and they need to do something about it. It is also the #butlerway
  2. I hate sharing to people what I dream about, but I had a dream last night that Keion Brooks committed. I was kind of depressed when I woke up. Not because it was a dream, but because I am dreaming of a 17 year old kid committing to IU.
  3. The IU Twitter retweeted this.
  4. I am hoping that Butler struggles to adjust (they shoot way more 3s than we do) and they have to try to play our game which is attacking the rim.
  5. How old are your relatives? I have a cousin who graduated Butler in 2011, so she was there during the Stevens years. She and her friends are die hard Butler basketball fans and we always go out for the game and if they win it is miserable rest of the day for me. I don't want my hatred for Butler to overshadow my hatred for Purdue. I hate Purdue far worse (also have family members who went to Purdue who I love). Also hoping for a Kieon commitment this weekend!
  6. Getting players like TJD, AF, and KB are what will let us have consistent years as opposed to flashes in the pan like under the previous administration. Could be another great weekend for our beloved Hoosiers. Lock up Kieon and beat Butler! Side note: I don't know why, but I really hate Butler. It is basically a private college full of prep school kids that like to pretend that they are a state school. I hate that they basically stole IU's earlier identity and I hate that stupid dog. I have friends and family that went to Butler, so this is of course all tongue in cheek. I also love dogs. GO IU!
  7. In today's world common sense makes you smarter than most.
  8. Correction made. Thanks!
  9. We are 7-2 and a tip in away from 8-1? We got blown out by Duke but so did Kentucky. We have held every team we have played to under 1 point per possession, aside from Duke who we held to the second lowest PPP they have had all season. We held Stevens from PSU, who averages more than 20 ppg, to 12 freaking points. Marquette's only other loss this year is to Kansas and we blew them out of the water. We have had some struggles, but we have also been hurt. We have things to work on, but this team has a chance to fight for the top of the B1G. We finally have a hard nosed coach and not a car salesman. When he talks in the huddle, he gets mad and actually coaches and doesn't just clap and say, "we are still in it guys." I have no doubt in my mind that some of the sloppy play will be ironed out in the next few weeks. We look to be getting back to back Indiana Mr. Basketballs (and probably a third in Leal but that remains to be seen.) We are getting players that we actually want and beating out other blue bloods to get them. The role player guys we have in the incoming classes are quality 4* kids and not Tim Priller. I don't think we are world beaters just yet and I have some concerns about this team, but the season isn't even a month old yet. Let it play out and look forward to Saturday and the future of the program.
  10. Team is 7-2 with two Tier 2 wins and you would think we lost to Indiana State and Fort Wayne
  11. A few things: The offense was stagnant at times, but I think that was because of the operators more so than the sets. I really like how CAM overcrowded one side of the floor to open up curlers on the corners and top of the key. Lots of movement on the sides. Good way to confuse aggressive defenses. A few times, Romeo would get the ball at the top of the key and then immediately pass the ball back (he was also lazy a couple of times on his curls). I agree with hoosierpap when he says Romeo is missing a killer instinct and I have thought that the whole season. His tentativeness the second half was the difference, not the offense. That being said, he is projecting the right way and I think he slowly figuring it out. If he can be as aggressive as he was the first half for the rest of the season, he could do some special things. Juwan has got to become more consistent. He gets touches but doesn't convert and then commits stupid, reach in fouls and has to play soft rest of the game. He didn't really turn the corner last year until after the crossroads classic. I am hoping he does something similar this year. RP is going to be a special player (broken record). His play and body type reminds me so much of Yogi (dude's biceps are no joke). Not saying he is going to be the same player, but get some talent around him the next few years and watch out. He does get lost some times on defense, but he definitely corrects himself during the game which is a hard thing to do. Smith is approaching freshman/sophomore year Troy with me. He does some things very well (rebounding, defense), but his offense lapses are hurting us more than his other qualities (especially since Romeo and RP are such good rebounding guards). If I see him catch the ball on one side of the basket and he dribble to the other side of the basket to put up a bad shot one more time, I am going to have to start buying higher ABV beers for the games. Greene really helped hemorrhage the bleeding in the first half, but then he went off the wall. He needs to understand his role on this team and (apparently) needs to respond better to coaching. Al is doing the opposite of Greene. He understands his role on the team and has been a positive piece all season. Has had some mistakes, but overall has been a key asset and a positive on the offensive side. When I saw Moore go in, I said "oh no." Was glad with some of the things he did, but then he got completely lost on defense. Looked like Bambi on roller blades out there. Overall: Good win and saw lots of positives and negatives, which helps lead to better coaching. We played and beat a top 10 defense (which also explains lulls in offense on our end) and a top 40 team overall at home. We beat them on an off night by us. They didn't shoot free throws well, but we also shot 10% for the first 5-10 minutes. I think after the game on Saturday (and hopefully a commitment by Brooks), the week off will be a nice break for the team to come together and work on its issues. ALSO: That guy totally goal tended Phinese right?
  12. Are you talking about the guy in the middle of photo? If so, I believe it is Vijay Blackmon
  13. Not saying you are wrong, but we haven't even offered yet. I assume we are finalizing the 2019 class before moving on, but it speaks to the talent gap between Leal and the 2019 class if Miller hasn't even offered yet. Also, I like Leal and think he would be a great Hoosier, but if Leal comes to IU, I would assume Brooks would still start above him. Not the same level of player.
  14. A really important point is that we will likely have TJD and Keion for two years (or more). With a relatively weak 2020 class (at least in Indiana) it will be nice to have them returning for their sophomore years.
  15. Google Chrome's incognito mode. Right click the link and there should be an option.
  16. ...and then there is this story. https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/high-school/2018/12/03/keion-brooks-nears-college-decision-after-trayce-jackson-davis-picks-iu/2123787002/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  17. Rabjohns is saying that TJD and Brooks are having "interesting" conversations since TJD committed. I don't have Peegs so I don't know what that means, but logic leads me to believe that it is good news for IU.
  18. posted this on reddit but, assuming he wins Mr. Basketball (especially with Kieon transferring to LL) this will be the first time IU has gotten back to back Indiana Mr. Basketballs since 1997-1998
  19. https://spartanavenue.com/2018/10/29/michigan-state-basketball-derrick-nix-major-issue-athletics/ First thing I thought of when he talked about the family atmosphere at MSU. Take Nix's claim with a grain of salt.
  20. He averaged 4 ppg and 2.7 rpg in junior college...This list just reiterates some of the ill advised recruiting decisions Crean made during his time.
  21. Or Tom Crean is still our coach
  22. I can only imagine how rowdy my friends and I would be if this type of thing was around when I was in school.
  23. https://collegebasketball.ap.org/poll IU just outside
  24. I would agree
