Some will still not like him when that happens. Many like me jumped from the support ship a couple years back and would love to be won back. I don't think Crean is a great coach but if can find a way to get into the tourney every year then I think he may be able to have a few deep runs. Make the deep run this year and find some way to be a regular contender for the BT title and many of us will be good.

I agree Purdue went from a 4th seed and evened up with us overall as far as seedlings go by advancing further in the BT tourney.

All these things and Crean is due. This team has all the advantages you list and a chip on their shoulder now.

Could be that It is not as definite and Crean is giving them time to evaluate. Maybe the Blackmans feel it is more definite or even know it is but if so there is no reason to force them to announce it now. They could change their mind

I don't know. I think this team needs to get pissed like they did after the preseason.

Who said it did? Who said the season ended at the end of the regular season? We are on to the next phase of the season now. One that we have done poorly at under Crean and like Charlie Brown and the football. We may be skeptical that Lucy will pull it away again but we still have hope. Don't misunderstand the skepticism for hate.

Did we ever hear what his injury was? I always thought it might be possible if his rehab carries into the BT regular season. But then thought he would have done that mid year to get the benefit of a shorter sit out period

There are three seasons. BT regular season - great job. The BTT once again a major flop. NCAAs are next - who knows. As good as the BT regular season championship was it just raises expectations for the tournaments. Crean has not had teams do well in the tournaments. Underperform in the tournaments diminishes BT titles unless you are Purdue.

Crean's teams have performed poorly in tournaments This is factual and many of us that have been skeptics are hoping that with this team he can start to overcome that. We are hopeful and are not looking to discredit. When the results, however, match the unfortunate tournament fact and our hope is gone the pendulum swings back quickly.

This loss should refine our focus, we get key injured players back, have a veteran group and we are a strong team. I expect elite 8 at a minimum. Anything else is disappointing. You have two season. BT regular season and tournament. Regular season is great but it is to get you ready to make a tourney run.

Ok big guy how far? How far is this great team going to go? And if they don't get there I bet we see you telling us all is well.

How is that possible given our poor tournament play under Crean. Every tournament is important and here we cannot use matchup as an excuse.

BS recruited Cody when at Butler and almost got him. He may not go after all 5 stars but with very good coaching and strong retention you can win with a blend of 4 star kids with a few 3 and 5 stars. After coaching in the NBA, if he were to return to college I doubt he would have a problem working with high end players but he might be able to let assistants do the initial leg work.

I don't have much of a problem with Grant. If Crean thinks he can contribute he has a better eye than I. I would love to see us develop a development program for guys like this. Not Creans forte but he has changed some already this year why not more
