  1. If he was bringing something to the team Crean would find a way to get him some minutes. He is literally the last guy to go in.
  2. Man if only he could play tough D he would be a really good asset.
  3. A few hurdles but he would ultimately have to pay his own way if he did. Why would he want to do that.
  4. What makes Priller all Hoosier? Is it his fandom? All Hoosier, to me, is the kid who works his tail off in practice to get better. Is that Priller? I don't have a clue other than to gauge it on his inability to get in games before walk ons. I don't mind Priller but just don't how to feel on this one.
  5. I don't remember much negativity towards Max at all. With regards to Nick we needed a few more bigs when we signed him. There was certainly some negativity with him but that was because we had just signed two "bigs" that did not show much promise in April and Priller. I would like to see our recruiting kick it up a notch. We had a veteran laden team this year which led us to a BT title but the talent seemed to be lacking in several big games. We have a team full of 3/4 stars like OG, Morgan and RoJo etc which can be great for team play when upperclassmen but we also need some high end guys. TB looks like he could develop into a big time player, JBj if he can come back from another knee injury(3rd?) and can play better D are close but we need more. All of our current recruits fall into that RoJo, OG mold I think we still will need some 4/5 star impact level players to advance further.
  6. JUCO F Freddie McSwain (@Mcswain_swain), who picked up an IU offer this week, says he plans to visit Bloomington April 18-20. #iubb
  7. If Troy could improve defensively as much as Yogi did then his offensive inconsistencies would not matter. He has great length and athleticism but is a poor defender. Change that defensive weakness to a strength and he could be so valuable.
  8. Well our weakness next year would seem to be having a veteran ball handler. RoJo and the rookies may handle things well but if not it would be great to have a veteran we could call off the bench. This year we needed a big in case TB had foul trouble and it was great to have Max, especially late in the year. If we can get a better veteran ball handler then great but if not I would take a long look.
  9. What do I need to do so that threads I have read don't show up until something new is posted?
  10. I think this is key. Last year we had times when Blackman was certainly a poor defender but others had not bought in either. By the end of the year we sometimes had 1 guy out there who was a D liability but only 1 at a time. Next year we may have 2 at times with him and Troy but that can be managed if he at least gives a little more effort there.
  11. Second half he seemed to look for better shots and certainly seems to be selfless.
  12. Crean did seem to find a way to change a few things this year (getting his team to play D and giving their legs a break). As for a coach that made changes late in their career consider Jim Boeheim who did not switch to his zone D until late in his career. "Finally it dawned on me,” said Boeheim in a candid moment after his team’s 61-50 win over Indiana in last year’s Sweet 16, “after about 27 or 28 years that if we played zone all the time and didn’t waste time playing man-to-man and put some wrinkles in the zone, that our defense would be better.” http://dailyorange.com/2014/01/the-buildup/
  13. I am glad it is not my job to evaluate and recruit HS kids. I am sure Romeo is great but he takes some deep threes. And seems to prefer a jumper vs anything else.
  14. Not really. The administration did not give an effort worthy of our potential in the Davis and Sampson hires. When you hire poorly you get the results we have had.
  15. We lose some key prices that will make winning the BT difficult but we have enough talent back to repeat in the sweet sixteen and possibly get hot late and make a run. We need to build from what we did this year to have a nice 4-5 year run. We have enough key pieces on the roster now an if we add well and don't lose any key pieces we should be looking good for a few years.
  16. Exactly. Keep it going Coach and I am sure you will break through the sweet sixteen again. Consistency is such the key though. I really believe that if we get in the tournament 9 out of 10 years Crean can build teams to make runs IF he continues to get his teams to the tourney wiling to play D and without being dead legs.
  17. My daughter was the only one in the family to pick Kentucky. When she lost that game her punishment was we changed her name to Karl the rest of the weekend. Made her cry at one point. Kids have to learn.
  18. Last year I think it was at least plausible. There were a few articles that talked about how people were treating his family poorly and it was clear they got the info from him. No reason to redebate those articles except to point out he had some concerns staying. Then suddenly we sign Bryant and everyone comes back (yogi mainly) and there are a lot of reasons to stay. Unless that experience soured him and he wants out still (not likely in my mind) then I think that ship has sailed whether it was really an option last year - no idea
  19. Last summer many speculated that Crean would not be back this year and that he may proactively leave if a job opened up that he liked. Some though maybe that was Alabama but some folks that have been pretty neutral and somewhat connected suggested the Pitt job would have appeal to him. Dixon was a candidate for some job last year too and the rumor said that if Pitt were open, Crean and Glass would reach an agreement where he left for that job.
  20. Ruh Roh - will last Summer's rumors revisit
  21. On the radio post game Crean mentioned that OG is such a coachable kid that one of the first things he said to Crean after the game was "I know coach, I have to run tomorrow". He had apparently done something "bad" in the game and it showed his humility that he did not come in celebrating but understanding that he could do better. Would love to know what it was that he felt warranted the need to run - Crean laughed and said he told him he could wait till Monday or just skip it this time (can't remember which).
  22. Miller has definitely underperformed but has still achieved quite a lot. He has had teams in the top 20 for nearly a decade and has had 4 elite 8's only missing the tourney once. Crean's one FF was great but he has not done enough since then to rival Miller. Consistency will be the key. Keep competing for the BT title every year and I think the postseason success will follow
  23. Had to watch the taped IU game so I may have missed it but did Crean and Chattanooga's coach have some issues? Their coach gave Crean the blow by during handshakes and even Crean seemed ready to stop and talk
  24. Wright State has parted ways with head coach Billy Donlon, sources confirmed to ESPN.
  25. A lot of us said we would know more about TC and his abilities after this year. This tournament is set up well for him to help overcome some doubts. No more excuses. Let's go win some games
