Game Thread: Indiana Vs Idaho 8PM BTN
HoosierAloha replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
The officials are doing everything in their power to give us this game. He tackled him mid-punt and we get the 5 yard variety. That was one of the better tackles by IU on the night. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

I get having to dirty it up against more talented P5 teams but we’re sucking against a FCS team. Blame it on the rain? Moral victory that we are gaining some yards? Celebrate the losses of better programs? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
Some fans just find the negative in everything… because they care about the program and remember a time when it was elite/blue blood. Can’t believe fans could be negative when we’ve had so much success in the last few decades.. errr we were clean… errr we’re rebuilding… errr we protect our turf unless we don’t want those players!! Just win, after you’ve won keep winning. When you’re established start talking. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

But IU has attempted to play that game for years, unsuccessfully for the most part. Romeo didn’t pick IU because we were his favorite. There were others too. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
There it is, was waiting for someone to point that out. Weird how that works.. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

*'s are nice for fan engagement but mean little when the ball is tipped to begin the season. Trayce, Race, and Jordan will be getting the majority of the minutes at the 4-5. If Ren is getting enough minutes that he's making an impact to that Big Ten championship, that we've already won in the off-season, that would indicate that something happened to one of those other players.......... Opportunity to make an impact is an important factor in determining who could potentially make this list. I know many on here see "Indiana" and "high stars!" and automatically think we're being disrespected because he doesn't make some list. It's goofiness. The 5 points and 4 rebounds could easily be tallied in mop up minutes and he might not deserve to be on a top 10 list "full of 3* freshmen."
-
Haha, if Ren is making that big of an impact something went sideways. Ren will contribute. However, a large portion of games will be dependent on Race and Trayce winning their matchups not what Ren does in the handful of meaningful minutes he gets. We’re back to the “why isn’t IU ranked the highest with everything!!!?” We’re quite predictable. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

(2025)-PF Bryson Tiller to Kansas
HoosierAloha replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
The great thing about the NIL model is the university will still be able to exploit those big time programs with the athletes being able to make money for their NIL. Great concept for all parties. Your coxswain on your second 8 crew will have their degree paid for because the uni is pulling in nine figure/year TV deals for basketball and football. Crazy! Those bagels without cream cheese was absolutely worth the millions schools make off of them. [emoji23] I guess if each player gets ~0.0001% of the pie for being THE reason universities are making bank… Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I’m sure everyone drives the speed limit, never rolls through that stop sign in the middle of nowhere, and always abides by every law no matter what others around them do. We didn’t even follow all the rules. Some of our best over the past decade got some spending money or other extras. It’s just we tried to play the holier than thou game and sucked. Not sure what point you’re trying to make? Branch McCracken court is honoring a previous coach. Simon Skodjt Assembly Hall is honoring a contract. Not sure where you interpreted I was inferring otherwise? I guess we could go zero ****s mode and remove Simon Skodjt and rename it Robert Knight Assembly Hall but I’d doubt the university would want to give back millions to do that. In what world is giving something and then taking it back not disrespectful? In this case, a tremendous honor for both the previous coach and the university. Keep the building Simon Skodjt Assembly Hall (or whatever the official name is). Keep the court as Branch McCracken Court. Name something else after Coach Knight. We’ve removed the name “Jordan” from several different buildings and such to show the university no longer respects him. Why would we do the same to a coach who brought the university so much. Don’t step out of line or have a perspective that varies too far from the company line either. Many will overlook the totality of last season because we won a few games late. Happy we made the tourney but much of it before and after that was bad basketball. We need some more makers in the coming recruiting classes. If not Kaiser we need others. The on court results are far more important than the number next to a recruit or the recruiting class. There will always be those pumpers and dumpers, many of whom will claim to be realist. I’m guessing a lot of this is on the backend. I know there are workarounds but on a web browser it takes me straight to the last post. Probably hasn’t been updated and there is quite a vulnerability on a browser. Good stuff Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

(2021) C Logan Duncomb to IU, to Winthrop
HoosierAloha replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
You nailed it Add in better lighting with a little zoom and they look huge! In actuality, they’re posture changed because they’re shoulders are pulled back. I have no doubt they got a lot stronger but 20 pounds on a 6-5 or 6-9 frame over a year starting from scrawny kids isn’t some groundbreaking transformation. Happy they put in the work to gain strength and hope it helps them on the court. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -
*B10 Expansion Poll: Your Top Pick (Round 1.1)
HoosierAloha replied to Southside's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I wonder what impact the Big 1.o + USC/UCLA would have on those weaker fan bases. I know quite a few IU grads in the Bay Area that would attend an IU away game at Stanford. Would being in the Big 1.o raise fan support? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -
^This is fantastic Get fitted for irons at Purdue Person's. Focus on shots from 100 yards and in on the driving range before your rounds or whenever you go to the range. Pick a target 100 yards out and hit 1000 golf balls at it until you're getting somewhere close. Add a little distance each week/round/practice. The swing from 100 yards should be similar as you move out but it's easier to start. Take extra time at the chipping/putting green before each round too. That's where you'll really drop strokes.
