Fun, I'm guessing it might be a little more difficult to get out of that ticket now. It's quite easy to speed but quite another to get up to a speed that results in reckless driving (i.e. you know you're going that fast). I'm guessing the speed limit through there is 35-40, 65+ would be reckless driving. I can't really throw rocks from my glass house when it comes to speeding. I've been pulled over for some stupid ish through that same area. What happened after the lights came on was quite different. You just have to be smarter regardless of how fast you were going.

Right, there are areas on Old 37 north of Cascades that 90 would be really dumb but quite different than 90 just north of 17th. That's where I believe he was pulled over. South of that would be even more idiotic. Doing 90 on the interstate isn't exactly smart but it's most likely not going to get a reckless driving charge and hauled off to be processed. Speeding is one thing. Trying to evade and/or switching seats is another level of dumb. That hints at him knowing he was wrong and trying to get out of it. Was he on super secret double probation and knew he couldn't get in trouble again?

What is the maximum speed limit down Walnut? What is the maximum speed limit on the interstate? To be fair, it's actually quite easy to see the difference if you want to.
-
Where does it end? - "Just out past curfew, possibly smoking weed, no big deal" - "Just driving 90 and evading police, the charge will be reduced, no big deal" When do we stop making excuses for the program? I get that people make mistakes and need to learn from it. When individuals continue to make those decisions it becomes a trend. If anyone believes the only times he's stepped out of line are the times he has been caught I have a bridge to sell you. There needs to be a standard on/off the court. I don't think we're close to meeting that. I know many on here would disagree with anything Old Friend posts. I do believe the respect aspect of this is dead on. If respect is optional from the highest level it won't be met. I'm sure we'll get some social media posts about doing better blah blah blah. Remember actions speak louder than words for most.

You can absolutely reach 90 on N Walnut and they probably ducked into the apartments up near the Hampton (?). This would be a perfect excuse to have X shadow Woody for the next 5 months or so. It would be an absolute pain for both Woody and X but it could be fruitful for both. X being under a lot of supervision to mature and for Woody to possibly regain trust in X. People do stoooopid things, especially at that age. You try mature out of it without killing or injuring anyone. It takes some longer than others. X is struggling with this transition and some strict guidance is much needed. The bigger question is why does this keep happening? That’s what needs to be addressed yesterday. Not a big deal as he wasn't really helping our program, unless he was that week but probably not but could have been maybe not. Good luck but not against IU!

The hits keep coming, we just can't get out of our own way for whatever reason(s). As I've previously stated, I highly doubt the NW incident was the first for that group. I get that kids will be kids but when will enough be enough. Repeatedly doing dumb things is a big middle finger to those you're responsible to, that includes yourself.

Has to be April Fools joke because it would be his 16th season not his 6th. Try harder Wisco

Receiving, no fears @ALASKA HOOSIER has a better gif game. He'll be available to post again upon the great thaw comes in a few months. -

I'd like to take this time to announce that BTB has finalized a deal to send me to HSN (is this still a thing?) and cash for a poster to be named later. -
Paywall? Agreed, doesn't appear to be a good fit from either side with what he needs and who we'll have.
-
Link? I don't think it would be an issue to run a three guard lineup with one of the guards being on the shorter end from an IU perspective. It does make sense from his perspective to go somewhere he can showcase his skills to reach his dreams.

Where is this coming from? I like that players can get quick feedback to make more informed decisions these days. I believe it was just a little over a week (?) he declared for the draft.

2022-2023 IUBB Roster Projection

No sarcasm or assholery but... Shooting in practice without making in games translates little to creating a more dynamic offense that impacts winning. I guess it's cool for the staff and players to watch him light it up in practice. This is an interesting phenomenon in sports and life. I've played with some excellent golfers who struggled in competition (practice superstars). Conversely, I've watched average golfers light it up in events. -

That might be what he needs. Running him with a second unit of JHS, Bates, Geronimo, etc. might suit his stand in the corner catch and shoot role perfectly. -

What makes you believe Kopp is a better shooter than what we saw? I believe he had one of three seasons at NW where he shot well. Last season, he shot okay on low volume. As a senior, his shot selection was questionable. We pegged him as a shooter because that's what we needed and he doesn't really do anything else well. He's probably a bench player getting 15-20 mpg on a good team. If we're relying on him as a starter getting 25+ mpg and being one of our better shooters we most likely didn't become that much better than this season. He might shoot a better percentage when he realizes he's a catch and shoot player and doesn't use game time to 'expand his game.' -

Referencing Geronimo's rebounding rank by removing a few end of bench players. This could be done through every stat by removing the non-rotational players which would increase both Kopp and Geronimo's rank. Agreed, Kopp is not the answer on the wing. As a backup with some experience and as a good teammate is the role he should have should he return. -

I'm in complete agreement that Geronimo should have been getting more minutes than Kopp but let's be fair. If you're representing that Geronimo should be higher in a specific category over players with minimal minutes it should be done with Kopp too. We don't need to manipulate numbers to show that Geronimo was statistically better than Kopp. I didn't think Kopp would be a difference maker for the team. However, I had no idea that he would put up more scoring goose eggs than double digit games. I believe he was pretty inconsistent while at NW too (?). -
2022-2023 IUBB Roster Projection
HoosierAloha replied to Five Prime's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
If we're creating a roster I'd like to keep our 1 and 5 while upgrading our wings. A proven versatile stretch 4 that can defend on the perimeter while hitting ~40% from deep. A couple of wing players that can defend multiple positions, attack the paint, shoot 40+% from deep, and create their own shots. Even if we don't upgrade our talent, I'm sure we'll dominate the off-season. We'll slot more than a few of our players onto preseason All-Big 1.o teams. We'll get upset when the media doesn't agree, the season plays out and they don't prove themselves, and then get mad at the media for not seeing it our way. Ignore the evidence of the last few decades and get angry at the "haters." Regardless... -

Memphis, Indiana and Arkansas are also thought to be possible landing places for the 6-foot-9 forward. From that statement? -

Wow, interesting. How did you jump from us pursuing to us being front runners? Where did you get the "sounds like we made up lots of ground with him" -
Thank you for replying, it's crazy how that happens and continues to happen. It's almost like we over hype, only include, or make statements of fact when they're opinions and run with it. When the mood changes the story of what was said changes quickly to align. I guess we can find others to blame than the true source of this though...
