  1. When I can't do s*** else I watch to laugh and complain. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  2. They were up 3-1 but a lot farther from winning that series than people believe. Doubt OKC would have won a title with Durant/Westbrook. There are too many better storylines. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  3. A lot more respectable, enough so IU's seed would have been a 2 or 3 at worst. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  4. This, I'll have to dig through some files to find the research I did on OOC SOS. It basically shows that our record was comparable to the most difficult P5 teams minus the guarantee wins. There is a way to game the system and we've done the exact opposite in recent years. Is there really that much of a different between an 300+ RPI and a 200ish RPI win in terms of likelihood of winning? Our biggest issue in OOC SOS is playing too many 250+ RPI games. If you reduce those to below 250 it makes a world of difference. In the last three years or so as we've gone from the B1G being the strongest conference to getting games against Rutgers and a turrrble Minny team our overall SOS has fallen. The OOC schedule should be flexible for the years our B1G schedule is weak. However, that is asking a lot of the coach and AD to make those up in the fly. I've posted many times the "ideal" OOC schedule to both challenge the team and provide for a top OOC SOS. It looks similar to this coming seasons schedule with not as many super fluffy cupcakes. I'm glad to see us dictate some of the top opponents for this upcoming season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  5. It's our quantity of 200+ RPI games that hurt us and having several in the 300+ range does is no favors. I went through the top P5 conference teams schedule with the highest SOS and with only a few exceptions their schedules aren't stacked. They play the system to have a lot of 100-150 games instead of 250+ games. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  6. MSU's schedule the past few years hasn't really been what it was in the past. There isn't a team in the country that plays that schedule that's in a P5 conference. No, playing a few elites in the OOC schedule doesn't hide the fact you play 14 of 18 games against trash conference opponents. In dreamland you can schedule like that. In reality it just doesn't work. If we keep a schedule similar to what we have this year that will provide plenty of opportunities to play in big environments to show off for recruits. Go look at the top OOC schedules. P5 teams with top OOC SOS do it one of two ways; schedule a boatload of middle of the pack teams or schedule a handful of elite games and a soft creamy exterior. IU has had some soft OOC schedules in the years past but nothing like that of Marylands this upcoming season. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

  9. Illinois had a few of those years as well before Brucie was fired. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  10. This is simply not the truth. At the beginning of the season, Nicky Z was a big part of the problem on defense. However, on a team full of improved defenders Z3 stood out. Unless your sister is playing in the WNBA I like Z3s chances to stop her. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  11. Thank you for your contributions here Hutch. All the best to you moving forward! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  12. I'm hoping Pritchard-esque! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  13. I'm with you both but have a few concerns. Can he play within the (little) structure of the offense while maintaining good team chemistry? I feel if he and JBJ were playing together things could quickly go south. Also, there would be little to no time for McSwain and Green. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  14. Weird, it wouldn't surprise me one bit. IU doesn't have the scholarship nor the playing time. If he could play within a system he could be a good addition to a good team. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  15. In two years at Indiana, Nick Zeisloft made 128 of his 147 field goals from 3-point range. I dislike very much when columnist attempt this crap. Just scanning over the article it makes it seem like Z3 was the best shooter to have ever lived, minus FT on here. I guess it looks turrrble when you say Z3 only made 19 two-point shots in two years. Anywho, hopefully Gelon can find a role with this program over the next few years. I'm skeptical but hopeful. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  16. Glad to see Vic out of Orlando and in a winning program. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  17. Not real good at this. Asking for prayers that I'll be in better health soon. An HoosierAloha back in the Hoosier state isn't as happy as an Hoosier in the Aloha state. Thanks in advance. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  18. Fran's take... although everything the scout said about Troy has been posted on this board numerous times over the last several years. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  19. LeBron has Jordan, and almost everyone else, in pure physique and athletic ability at his size. Where Jordan has LeBron and almost everyone else is mental makeup. There are other differences but I don't think you or anyone else wants to get into those. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  20. Haha, thanks Purdue Person! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  21. Just going by the schedules released it looks like Wiscy has road games at pu, MSU, and IU. I could see the top tier if the conference being.. Wiscy MSU IU With the B1G title on the line the final week of the season. I would have.. pu Michigan Maryland In the chase group just behind the top tier. As always conference scheduled could determine the winner as IUs scheduled helped last season. If we have a few more losses but have a better SOS/RPI and don't win the B1G I'll be perfectly fine with that. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  22. What's the general rule for things like that? It's probably 20% more than what's been exposed. That would be scary... I'm not going full conspiracy theory here but it's not far from it. If GSW would have won in 5 the storylines would have been too messed up. If the GSW set a record for wins and then won the title there couldn't be debate for greatest team ever. I still think in a straight up series that Cavs team is probably closer to the 4th best team in the NBA than the best... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners
  23. Thanks for the article! I love reading about young adults venturing out into the world to different cultures to expand their knowledge and experience life. I believe these athletes represent IU well too. I was in Vietnam on a mission about 10 years ago. The kids over there absolutely love trying to learn any little bit of English or just playing universal games. If you're a college student there are programs out there to take you across the globe to experience different cultures. You'll change people's lives while having your life change as well.
