  1. JMor won "Warrior of the Summer"
  2. That's an absolute joke and a disservice to individuals who actually earned a degree at UNC. I'm afraid this is only the beginning and until the power 5 come up with something better this joke of an association will continue to "govern."
  3. I've called it for quite some time that UNC will not receive penalties for their infractions. They have too much say in the matter and things will only get worse. The ACC is becoming a laughing stock with Syracuse, UL, and UNC. They'll soon be in basketball what the $EC is in football. The NCAA and ESPN will drool all over it too.
  4. At some point, maybe tomorrow, I'm going to go through and update all the players who've we made the cut for so far. Hopefully we could keep it updated. I'm interested to see just who we've made the cut for and who we will make the cut for. Off the top of my head Scruggs (final 8) Wilkes (final 11) Gak (final 5) Smith (final 7) Barcello (final 5)) Waters (final 7)
  5. Back to back tourney appearances would be a good start and foundation to build upon.
  6. Vic is going to be used as a defender and then will have to get out of the way on offense.
  7. I don't like "Am", mornings the last few months have really blown!
  8. He could and did finish before. What he needs to develop is a solid floater though. He has shown the ability to throw down in traffic or make a few high bank shots. I'm not sure he'll have the sneaky athleticism he had before. This is where a floater or getting more crafty as opposed to relying on athleticism will help him. I don't disagree with his defense. I would have JN starting if JBJ decides he doesn't want to play defense. I would give some of his minutes to CuJo to prove a point. I just don't think it'll happen.
  9. That would be one hell of a run with wing players...
  10. I don't see it impacting his shooting or defense... If he's on the floor with RoJo, OG, JMor, TB I'm okay with it as the other 4 are neutral or plus defenders. It could effect his ability to get to the rim though. If he's not healthy enough to get back to where he was he could be that Z3 or Roth type bomber from deep.
  11. I have a feeling he is Crean's to lose. It would be nice to go from Troy to OG to Wilkes to Louis King (?) to Trendon Watford!
  12. Well because it's pu...? It would be like me hurdling my little brother.
  13. CB agrees with that. He would be a great addition!
  14. This should interesting how it plays out to start the season. If JBJ is health: RoJo, JBJ, OG, Hartman, TB Key Reserves: JN, CuJo, JMor, Davis Could play: Green, McSwain HVC: Gelon, MSB I still don't know how Newkirk figures into the starting lineup. In the Crean era, Pritchard is the only starter who came off the bench the following season (I believe). Will RoJo or JBJ come off the bench after starting for a few years? Will we see that dreaded three guard lineup that stunk it up in Maui? Guards: We have a lot of versatility at the guard spot. RoJo and JBJ have shown the ability to bring the ball up in previous years. If RoJo is capable of the PG duties he would be my starter there. JN could replace either JBJ or RoJo as the first guard off the bench. I look for CuJo to play that OG/JMor role from last season, developing and learning then having an impact later in the season. Green will get run in spot minutes probably similar to Niego last season. If there is an injury in the backcourt he might see more minutes. Gelon will probably get mop up minutes or a few minutes here and there to launch from distance. Wings: We should have a lot of versatility on the wing with both JMor and OG being able to play on the outside or inside with mismatches. If we get high level defense from this group that will go a long way of keeping opponents from scoring in the lane. I see Hartman starting along with either JMor or OG. OG projects as All B1G type players but JMor had a solid frosh campaign while playing injured. McSwain appears to be a freak athlete but still needs to learn the system. He might be in a similar position as OG/JMor last season. I can't see him taking minutes away from any of the players in front of him. Bigs: Thomas Bryant with a strong summer should be one of the top bigs in the B1G with Ethan Happ. It will be interesting to see if he's worked on his handles to take other bigs off the dribble. The few times he did it last season he beat his man. Davis will probably come off the bench most of the time to replace TB but hopefully will get some minutes on the floor together. Davis will also be learning the system as he arrives in Btown late in the summer. This could be one of the better 1-2 bigs in the B1G. Sorry for the long post, really stoked about the season and really bored while recovering!
  15. I agree, he's close to what the new age PF looks like in the NBA. He should be able to hold enough muscle to defend bulkier 4s in the post and being quick and athletic enough to guard smaller players on the perimeter.
  16. Interesting that Wilkes and Smith have IU, Ill, X, and UM. Can the B1G land both of these recruits?
  17. MSB's younger brother?
  18. Rutgers (think they're in the B1G right...?) landed 6-2 combo guard Geo Baker from New Hampshire.
  19. OG is built a little different from Green but in the evolving NBA he'll be able to defend some 4s while creating a mismatch on the other end. If he continues to defend like he did last season while increasing his offensive output it'll be hard not to enter the draft after this coming season.
  20. Swan doesn't like going in the post much and I would expect OG and/or JMor to use their smarts and athletic ability to defend him and make him pay on the other end. Swan trying to guard OG is a matchup nightmare for them. OG can hit from outside and showed last year he was able to take much smaller and quicker guards off the dribble, let alone a plodding Swan.
  21. I'm still holding out hope that both OG returns for his junior year and IU lands Wilkes. Having OG and Wilkes on the wing could potentially be dominant and the best in the B1G/CBB.
  22. I need to get back on my feet so I can get to Hawaii to catch KU vs. IU in a hanger!!
  23. (There's a Twitter link in there to video of OG draining a three in slow mo)
  24. OG getting some love at Adidas Nations.
  25. Closing the south end zone might not add many seats but I think it'll make MS look a lot nicer. If we can put several good years together in-state recruiting will pickup too. Putting RBs in the NFL in back to back years is impressive too. We'll probably have OL in back to back years as well. One brick at a time!
