The student athlete is only mildly inconvenienced now. -Leave a situation that you didn't like, but that still paid for a year or two of your college. -Join a situation that you believe will be better (your 1st choice was believed to be an awesome one, so who knows) that will continue to pay for your classes. -Get another year of free college, that might even set you up to be a graduate transfer in year 5. -Get the chance to work on some of your player shortcomings so by the time your final year rolls around, you are a lot better of a player. -Get an extra year to mature as a person, into an adult.(I believe this lack of maturity, self-awareness, and lack of desire to work to get better, is the catalyst for a lot of transfers) Their lives are not destroyed because they have to sit a year, while practicing with the team, while taking classes, while getting closer to their degree, while having the chance to get a lot better, and while having all the other tangible and intangible benefits of playing college basketball.

(2019) SG Armaan Franklin to IU

There's nothing good at the moment to sell guards. Last season our senior guards played like garbage and Al and Devonte were bad/nonexistent as often as good. Romeo hasn't played 1 second of college basketball so "his great year" isn't a current influence to guards who want to follow his path. -

Lawrence Funderburke scored 26 points in his 6th game, then was kicked out of practice a couple days later (probably for doing something that he had already been told to "knock it off") and quit the team, even though he had to sit a year. With no transfer penalty and the seemingly less current coping skills, 4 or 5 people could transfer every season. Coaches would be in the after game handshake line; "You sure you still want to play for that a-hole? We have a starting spot in your position open next season. We would love to have you" It would be a mess.

Indiana would probably be sitting on 2 or less championships if this were the case, kids would transfer rather than learning, growing, adopting and becoming a vital member of a Bad A$$ team.

You're right. No more scholarships!

Old school head fake! -
In this sense, I don't think a game is ever decided by fouls, it's determined by basketball players ability or inability to knock down free throws; and on the opposing teams ability to take advantage of the misses and other players poor skill in executing a fundamental basketball play. I was enamored with the Elam ending, but became bored rather quickly. Almost every team who is winning can score 7 points faster than the other team can score 7 points plus their deficit.

What are the positives other than not much late game fouling?

Indiana (historically) doesn't have to cheat to compete, but, as with those cheating schools, we've still gotta have a great coach! I'm hoping we have that solved now, for the next 3 decades.

I agree. It's not like it would be a bad bird to have! -

It's def a balancing act. Do we hold out and let Franklin commit elsewhere and then hunt for a Priller-type if Bouknight and Harris also go elsewhere or do we push for an AF commitment? Once can certainly do worse than a 4 star from Indiana. -

A 4-star Hoosier is usually a pretty good choice. -

If you go to Purdue, there's no saving face. -

Kofi Cockburn? Sounds like a McDonald's drive-thru incident. -

His comments about IU were as positive as anyone's and were actually more specific, like he's visualized it. Cody and Noah didn't need pUKE, pUKe, UNCheat, or any of the others to be lottery picks. -
Running start max vert is for lobs leading to highlight dunks.

Ayton is standing on the 3 point line, same as Al and Smith were. Not sure about our other players.

I'm accepting this as accurate: Wilt Chamberlain – 48″ Wilt 'the Stilt' Chamberlain was one of the most dominant forces in NBA history. ... Darrell Griffith – 48″ Michael Jordan – 46″ ... Zach LaVine – 46″ ... Jason Richardson – 46″ James White – 46″ Spud Webb – 46″ ... Shannon Brown – 44.5″
