  1. When I saw it, I immediately thought "Back to tryout for team USA".
  2. Oh, the Hoosiers will be ready
  3. http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/ct-ptb-spt-boys-basketball-valparaiso-brandon-newman-st-0602-story.html Valparaiso's Brandon Newman weighing prep school options while getting ready to play for Indiana Junior All-Stars
  4. That's true. No reason to quit being positive.
  5. Most definitely, but it doesn't prevent new plans come September.
  6. I agree, but everyone seems to be acting like 3 of those on our list must pick us. I believe we will land a good class, but we aren't required to land a good class, because we have good targets. It's certainly better than discussing April and Priller, but doesn't mean the results will be 3-5 stars
  7. Forget the rest, this is 100% flawed, but didn't mean to ruin your day. If someone we have targeted commits, that will be awesome. We don't have a guarantee for any of our targets to come, just because we miss on another.
  8. LITERALLY, we aren't choosing between the 3... LITERALLY, my 2nd sentence went beyond the 3 on your first sentence to all of em, to any of em. It's not a big deal to have someone expand or disagree with a post you made.
  9. The bacon still has to choose us. There's no requirement that anyone on our list commits to IU. It's not an 'if not Stewart then some other 5 star big" Might be, might not.
  10. How about your top 64 (current without play-in) teams host the regional with themselves, and 3 other teams with teams from each tier? That would give value to the regular season.
  11. These new conference schedulers aren't looking for a balanced schedule, they are looking for, essentially, the top 4 teams to not play the bottom 4 teams and the top 4 teams to all play the top 4 teams. I'd be fine with an every team makes the tourney format. It used to work perfectly in Indiana, before the 'everyone gets a trophy' crowd showed up.
  12. Asked to name one player who he’s been recruiting the hardest on UK’s behalf, Maxey’s exuberance took over. He named two. “Keion Brooks and Cole Anthony,” he said. Brooks — a 6-7 small forward from Indiana — was one of the first players in the 2019 class to land a UK scholarship offer. Indiana and Michigan State have also been discussed as possible favorites in his recruitment, but UK continues to generate buzz as a potential landing spot. Maxey and Brooks have known each other since grade school — “We’re like brothers almost,” Maxey said — and the UK commitment is a big fan of his five-star classmate. He said he sat down and watched Brooks play a full game on the Nike circuit recently. “And he was killin’ it, of course,” Maxey said. “He was doing really good. He’s worked really hard, I can tell. And he’s trying to increase his stock. He thinks he’s better than what he’s ranked, and I feel like he is.” Brooks smiled when approached the next day with details of that conversation. When asked who he thought Maxey said was No. 1 on his target list, Brooks shook his head. “I know he gave you my name,” he said, correctly. “He texts me all the time. He’ll just text me randomly and say, ‘BBN’ out of nowhere. And then say nothing after that. Every time he sees me, he’ll just wink and say, ‘BBN’ or something like that. He’s been on me real hard. He’s been on me ever since he committed.” Brooks confirmed that the two players have been competing since fifth grade, often matched up against each other at various AAU events over the years. “Tyrese is like a brother to me,” he said. “We’ve been playing against each other for so long. Here at USA, getting a chance to play with each other now, it’s been great. He’s very outgoing. He’s easy to talk to. We always talked about recruiting before he committed, and ever since then, he’s been trying to get me to go to Big Blue Nation.” Is it working? “I won’t lie to you. Me and him have such a great relationship,” Brooks said. “Now that he’s committed, I’m not going to say it’s not intriguing to want to play with Tyrese in college. I have thought about it some.”
  13. Yep. His quote made it sound like he might be waiting on "someone" to offer.
  14. Certainly not, but it's a far cry from "committing a few days after Romeo", unless, by a "few" they mean "250 or so".
  15. Father/Son? I'd say it could surpass $300 in Non-basketball related value.
  16. Yes. Fit a games worth of kick-@$$ hustle plays into about 10-12 minutes.
  17. We shall see. Let's not have TJD and Keion pairing at pUKe instead of IU...
  18. Looks like we've got some work to do. https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/five-star-trayce-jackson-davis-is-wide-open-heading-into-summer “My recruitment is still wide open. A lot of rumors have been made and even about me reclassifying even though the coaches didn’t even have a scholarship open, but they are just rumors and my recruitment is wide open. I am going to wait until July and if any new schools come up and maybe I will put them into consideration going into August,” he said. “I will probably cut my list in August to five or seven schools.” A commitment could remain on the backburner. “I don’t know when I could do it,” he said. “I was probably going to sign before basketball season, but now since all of these schools have taken the time with me, there isn’t any time table now.”
  19. And the Kentucky.com website was hyping that "the Kentucky Juniors beat the Indiana Juniors without 2 of Kentucky's best players", neglected to mention any of Indiana's players, especially those better than the kentucky kids, were also missing.
  20. "Race... needs to evolve his game and improve his skills, but I think he's going to be a guy who will help us win games in his Career." Maybe I'm wrong, but doesn't sound like that means he'll be too impactful in his 1st season.
