  1. Right. Everyone talks about only going an 8 or 9 man rotation, but it sure helps a team when 10-13 can contribute if called upon, and of course makes for higher quality practices.
  2. It was definitely 3 miserable years, but as precarious as the roster was, the loss of Maurice Creek can't be overlooked.
  3. It's best when you know, you know, and you adjust accordingly, and you don't string a coach along. Per Journal & Curior: Earlier this week, Center Grove center Trayce Jackson-Davis announced he would not take a scheduled visit to Purdue in November, trimming his list of finalists from six to five
  4. A ready for prime time DeVonte Green could really be a huge plus for this season.
  5. Detroit got Eli Holman who did pretty well there and also Ray Jr. was considered a big IU lean. And of course he never made it, but Bud Mackey was going to fit perfectly with the culture Sampson was creating.
  6. Crean did retain 3/5 of the recruiting class Elston, Roth, Pritchard. Gordon and DJ White went to the draft Dakich kicked off Thomas and Ellis, Crean upheld it, for good reason. Holman and Crawford both transferred (Holman followed an asst that got a head coaching gig). Edit: forgot about Bassett. McGee Transferred and appeared not suited for the B1G anyway, based on his subsequent stops. And ALL but Gordon and White seemed to prefer Mary Jane to classwork and probably shouldn't have been retained. Remember the 19 f's on Sampson's roster?
  7. Devin Ebanks and Terrell (Tu) Holloway. We were still waiting on Kevin Jones, Nolan Dennis and Lance Stephenson to commit. I think Jones was an IU lean once Ebanks committed.
  8. i'm still on a wait and see , none of the "good" coaches had the balls to come try, and there will still be zero roster comparison to 2008 Indiana and 2018 Louisville.
  9. It's fairly narrow to think of the status quo in 2 year bursts. Generally it's considering "normal" as opposed to a potential outlier of 1 moment. You clearly don't understand one of those 2 phrases. (condescending) Thanks (ribbing sarcasm)
  10. Anyway, I just realized we're on the Matthew Hurt page, so if you want to continue, we should prob move elsewhere.
  11. He didn't maintain the status quo, Tubby won 76% of his games, BG less than 60%. The "so they thought" part again is what I am saying. Kentucky hire BG, period. That's all that needs said. Kentucky DOES try to replace 1 coach with an equally awesome coach and fails. That was the point. Throwing money towards the next coach doesn't mean sUcK will have a winning program going forward. I get your points, but they aren't about the original thought, and BG proves that UK isn't some magical wand-waving basketball program. Also, don't be condescending in your posts, be an adult.
  12. That would bear my point out even further, if Tubby was also a mediocre hire. won only with slick rick's players, and the stepping back began with him, then continued to fall with their next poor hire BG. Thanks
  13. Billy not winning and taking his non-sober tour around Lexington was Tubby's fault? I'm sure pUKe will have their short list and some of those coaches might get pay raises. I don't think Archie, is the "type" of guy who would want to coach at UK
  14. Correct, but the original post was that UK wouldn't take a step back because they will spend big to hire a top coach. I just pointed out the Billy gillispie hire didn't pan out for them.
  15. But, was he "the best coach available" and if he was, it didn't matter at all, that they paid top dollar. Kentucky has a huge chance to step way back following Cal.
  16. I was with you til you got to MJ, we don't need no stinking turdheels.
  17. I'm going with Woodson on this one, Ray Tolbert. TJD has a lot of "old-school" in his game.
  18. I agree with Jefferies not quite fitting. Jaren Jackson seemed to be pretty darn good from 3, I don't remember that being much of TJD's game
  19. Yep. Hard to tell the behind the scenes stuff. we get caught up in message board or "expert" beliefs that we create a false hierarchy of needs/wants for the coaching staff. Like, we've all but moved on, in our discussions, from Trendon Watford, but the coaching staff may be after him as hard as ever.
  20. It was shown earlier in this thread, but recently TJD tweeted, posted, instagrammed, snapchatted, whatever it's called, for IU to show Armaan some love.
  21. No. It's like Damon. People weren't coming from all over to watch Pat Graham, Chandler Thompson, Shawn Kemp or Jay Edwards, nor Brandon Dawson, Caleb Swanigan, Kris Wilkes or Gary Harris.
