#1 IUFB vs. North Texas - Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026 on TBD
Stuhoo replied to Magnanimous's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
Section 108-about the ten yard line and 15 rows from the field. $150/per and an easy train ride from Penn Station. Cheaper and way better hotels, way better eats (sorry Ma Bears) and an overwhelmingly IU crowd. Kinda excellent!! -
As Cig has said many times, “It’s a business decision.”

Collateral benefit: Dramatically raises the staff hair game.

I’ve already got four choice tickets purchased for the quasi-home game at Rutger. Gonna be a big ol epic stadium takeover -
For sure. This isn’t like a defensive player seeing Haines go. Cig is clear that him and Shanny are very involved with the offense, but the defense is all Haines’.

Having suggested an album that maybe y’all haven’t heard, and maybe you need to, in a while. Bill Fay went from 1971 until 2012 without releasing new material. He was pretty sure no one wanted to hear what he had to say. By then he had a lot to say, and he released Life Is People:

I guess what I’m saying is that Tino seems like such a natural, obvious choice.
-
Damn, I thought I was hitting some of your lane by going with a 30-year-old album. They don’t call you old fart for nothing!
-
If he doesn’t, that doesn’t speak especially well for Tino.
-
Does that mean that for my current state of running stride I should be listening to Springsteen‘s Nebraska album?

I know of zero basis to state that Alberto Mendoza should be a higher ranked QB than Sorsby. Did TTech overpay for Sorsby? Yes -I agree with you. But Alberto ranked higher? Alberto Mendoza has not played during ANY meaningful game time (except for one handoff against OSU). Cignetti could have retained Alberto at a much lower price than we chose to spend for Hoover. Finally, if his name was "Alberto Jones" and he had the exact same resume as Alberto Mendoza; the seldom used backup on another team with fantastic quarterback development would you think the same? There's a ready-made comparable: Ohio State qb Lincoln Kienholz made a push for the starting job this past season before losing out Sayin. He threw for 139 yards and a touchdown and ran for 66 yards and two scores as the backup. The Buckeyes used Kienholz as a runner in short-yardage situations.

Top half/third of the conference for high school recruits has to be a program best ever, right?

A very interesting summary of other options. BuckyBall going really well! Scott Drew? No bueno. Not good at all. Chris BeardtheBobKnightDisciple? Hoo buddy - bad bad bad. Brad "the IU fanbase HATES that idea" Brownell? Incredibly excellent year, again. Another interesting summary of notable 'other options' is that Bruce Pearl, Jay Wright, and Brad Stevens are currently un-de-freakin-feated this season.

Pretty straightforward: We all have a boss who at some point gets to decide. If you don't like the boss' decision you can say no, at the risk of being fired yourself. Pat took that route, and so did his bosses.

Skinny Shaq! reeeeally skinny Shaq. Kidding aside, Bailey is now playing great ball and doing things that it didn't appear he was capable of - adding edge and physicality halfway through his senior season is pretty excellent. But he will never be a player whose best attributes are size and physicality. WIsh we had a less skilled, beat em up guy on the roster, but we tried and struck out on a few of that type.

My post stating that we need to pump the breaks before stating that we are as good as we've looked during the winning streak, and adding that the staff should have (but didn't) get a defensive, rebounding big ... even that makes me a Devries defender? Aye caramba... Guilty! (I guess... lol) ps: Devries is 50; he's not that young - a year older than Dusty and a decade older than Todd Creepy-Golden.
