  1. It's interesting that even with a long of 82 vs. Kaelon's long of 40, Kaelon had a higher ypc, even though Hemby clearly had more breakaway speed. And as the season progressed Kaelon was more often the featured or even split of carries back. He led us in rushing for the OSU game and all three CFP games.
  2. All true about Hemby! (though Kaelon was also great in pass pro) But Kaelon is bigger, stronger, has quicker initial burst, and is shiftier. It could be either, but if I had to guess which one will be getting some NFL carries a few years down the road, it would be Kaelon.
  3. Every time I see the heart and soul of this team, Sam, Conor, and Lamar, hanging out, I see Jason Drake in the picture. Get healthy Jason Drake.
  4. DT should absolutely be better. We return our two best and get a big-time portal addition. Landino is still a relatively inexperienced player; he is excellent and still destined to improve. Tucker is back and is already 'all that'. We lose Ratcliffe, who was a very good get, and Wheeler, who good-ish but was a relative disappointment. They are replaced by Joe Hjelle, who has been largely undiscussed, but may be one of the best additions to the team, and by the one best from a talented group of young tackles; Garcia, Hall, and four star freshmen McHaney and Hill. That is a position group that is absolutely stacked for the future, and that's without Jalen Brewster (!).
  5. Yikes. As genuine and fully transparent as Tang seems to be here, this ultimately and completely falls on him: Jerome Tang is the one that assembled this roster, and with above-average resources. Jerome Tang is the one that assembled the staff that is tasked with delivering the message of the head coach. Jerome Tang is the one that sets the culture and is the ultimate voice to communicate to these 18-23 year olds. Jerome Tang is the one that game plans and schemes each of these blowouts. Jerome Tang is the one that has produced successive conference records of 11-7, 8-10, 9-11, and 1-9. So who is the one person in this program that above all others should not be at K State next year? Jerome Tang.
  6. In sports they coined the phrase "Moneyball." The concept applies throughout sports, in building a business, hiring new employees, when you go to buy a car or a house, invest in equities; everywhere. In college sports, now that it's far more a free market economy, it's more applicable than ever.
  7. Oregon is missing lol
  8. Their guards are good enough but not elite and more importantly, their guard depth is very thin. Elite front line. Haugh and Chinyelu? Yessir.
  9. There's a monumental difference between the 2025 DE 1-4 when all healthy (Daley, Kamara, Wyatt, Ndukwe) and 2025 DE 1-4 in the CFP (Kamara, Ndukwe, move a DT over, move a different DT over). My contention is that the current 2026 1-4 is comparable, but probably not as good as 2025 at it's best (until and unless proven otherwise), but the 2026 1-4 is already better than 2025 DE 1-4 post-Wyatt injury and definitely better than the 2025 CFP DE 1-4.
  10. Ah, what the hell: 247jordan-smith-46136952/ On3 jordan-smith-jr Here's to a puncher's chance!
  11. My point is that Tobi is more similar to Daley than Tobi is to Kamara or Wyatt. Chiddi and Burnham are similar to Kamara and Wyatt. And during the CFP we did not have Daley or Wyatt. So we are starting next year with a DE rotation similar to the really dominant Daley and Wyatt included version; not just the 'slightly less dominant' post-Daley/Wyatt version. Also, Ndukwe is destined to continue improving (I would hope). Cig mentioned Ndukwe by name in the extended Wonkman interview, and when Cig mentions a young player by name that's a pretty sure sign that player is a really good one about to happen.
  12. I am very grateful for the talent, mindset, and production that Kamara brought to the D line, but Chiddi, Tobi (especially), and Burnham are a talent upgrade that collectively align more with Stephen Daley potential.
  13. Would be odd if he wasn't in the mix and the likely candidate for primary backup to Hoover. Without Cherry we'd only have Wilson and Bell, and I wouldn't think either is a projected high-end backup.
  14. And appears to be mature, and plays with excellent balance and body control.
  15. Chalk it up to 'group think' or 'similar conclusions' based on the current state of the program, but: The many posters in this thread, absent one or two, are not arguing much and are very satisfied with how things are going. Having that outlier opinion that things are bad is 100% fine to express (and for others to push back on), but there's not a lot of differing opinions currently; this corner of the fan base is really happy with the state of IU Basketball.
  16. It likely won't be instant success, but I would be very surprised if Prince Alexander-Moody isn't at least a 20-ish minutes per game player as a freshman.
  17. Oh good lord. Now that annoying @HoosierHoopster is going to start quizzing you about the brewing method and bean freshness. For crying out loud; it's about the perfect Natty Champy mug! I wish he would chillaxicate.
  18. Well, yes; at least seven or eight years ahead of the statue for Cig.
  19. PurDon’t blow it! Heeheeheehee
  20. Gonna need Dorn, Sisley (a given to me) and to a real extent, Miles to return to impart staff processes and culture into the new additions. Drake, Harris, Ristic, and Acimiovic would also be valued as returnees for the same reasons, as long as the staff thinks they will contribute someday on the court too. Drake gives me some good vibes - hoping he's gonna be okay for the long haul.
  21. Apropos of nothing and with full understanding that there is absolutely zero chance that the actual bracket will reflect this, but if this Delphi bracket came true @Uspshoosier, Indiana as the lowest ranked 9 seed, would play the highest 8 seed, which would mean a matchup against... Wilhamena Wigglesworm Wade.
  22. It's interesting; the mindset can be described by the great philosopher Curt Cignetti: When reminded by a pre-game sideline reporter that Indiana had never won at Penn State, Cig responded "This team has never played here." And that wasn't just true for that season; he wouldn't have said that if his staff and some of the same players had lost at PSU the previous season. So CDD has the same dichotomy; the fans understandably have a connection to the team and their performance that goes back decades, but this staff and group of players have literally zero connection to the failures of the past. So how this staff and group of players reacts and adjusts to adversity has been completely speculative. And now we are seeing some really good signs for the future.
  23. Can you imagine having an antiseptic, pre-fabricated beer at Downtown Disney in Lake Buena Vista on their karaoke night, and "El Jefe" takes the mike? Of note, starting the number by pretending to look at the video lyrics monitor is pretty funny. BTW, I tried to clue you in about Bill Fay. He did a pretty transcendent, fragile version of "El Jefe's" song, that Jeff Tweedy helped to produce. Enjoy:
  24. Enright's assist to turnover rate has been truly extraordinary for the past month. He's up to an outstanding 4:1 (4.8/1.2 per game) for the season. But during this winning streak? Rutger: 2/1 Purdoo: 8/3 UCLA: 7/2 USC: 8/1 Wisconsin: 6/0 Oregon: 8/1 Total during this win streak? 39/8 for an average of 6.5 assists to 1.3 turnovers per game. And the past four games? 29/4. That's 7.25:1. Lamar is playing insanely well? Yes, but so is Conor Enright.
