As crazy as it seems, if Shay is back we will be favored in our next three games. Both men's and women's B1G hoops have a severe case of have's and have nots this season.

Also to Woody's advantage; the year we were comfortably in with him we were a five seed and the year we were comfortably in with Archie we would have been about a nine seed. And because it was the Covid year, Archie quite literally never coached in an NCAA game at IU. Woody had four, going 2-2. (suck it, Wyoming and Kent State!) Finally, Woody actually had an above .500 conference record at IU, whereas Archie was 33-44 and got worse every single year. Take that, those that think TJD should have helped Archie succeed. Btw, while not in the Big Ten, all bad P5 coaches pale in comparison to the GOAT of bad big program coaches, Kenny Payne!

IMO Archie had a better hire resume than Woody, but Woody, as soul sucking as he was, had a ‘better’ tenure as IU coach over Archie. Archie was incomparably bad.

Bailey is a world’s better defender than Trent. He did a nice job defensively in the first half—better than Sam.

To say that Tucky is having a subpar defensive day would be an insult to merely bad defenders. It’s not his strength to begin with, but geez.

Dorn needs to see the ball go in. Some dumbass Orgegon player bailed him out when he was sucking and the free throws really got him going. Need something like that.

Underwood didn’t look all that mad to me. More putting on a little show and then asking the ref about how his family is doing.

Let’s see if we can have a great first five minutes of the second half. If we do we’ve got a puncher’s chance in probably our toughest matchup on the schedule. If not? Not a big deal because it looks like this IU team has found its identity.

The Illini weakness is against lateral and driving quickness. But when they shoot well and rebound against a small team it’s a tough matchup. I’m pretty damn happy with how we’ve hung in there so far, all things considered.

It’s a winning strategy; especially because they have five playable bigs.

PS: the refs miss a call now and then , but they are fine.

This one is gonna be tough even if we play relatively well. When the tallest team in D1 is shooting lights out at their home gym it’s a very tall task.

Two on Tucky. That one looked like a play-on. The first one on him was legit though.

Really worried about Bailey in this game.
