Women's Basketball Portal News
Stuhoo replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Women's Basketball
She has underachieved mightily, but there's potential. A true big and has some real skill. Went for 15/7 in only 19 minutes against IU in March of 2025. Originally from New Hampshire so she may want to move closer to home. -
What an excellent college basketball player. Long, long list for him and no reason to think we have a chance, but would be great.

He just had a big breakfast - up to 192 lbs. -

Odds/Thoughts on building top 25 preseason

Reed Baily kept his 2pt FG% inordinately high by turning it over before he could miss a shot near the rim. -

Over five blocks per 40 minutes. Conference defensive player of the year in only 19.8 minutes per game. That's crazy. Tons of turnovers and fouls, but clearly a talented kid. Intriguing, especially if Thomas Carr was a primary recruiter for him. -

Player Original College AAU Branch Portal Status Jamie Kaiser Jr. Butler Team Loaded VA Officially Entered Tyler Lundblade Belmont Adidas 3SSB Intends to Enter Samson Aletan Mississippi State Adidas 3SSB Officially Entered Lundblade can really really shoot it; over 40% from three on volume and 93.4% from the line. And he's been coached up at Belmont. Hope we get involved and get him. -
Bonus: He looks like Boban!

Odds/Thoughts on building top 25 preseason

I'll try to add a little silver lining to the IU offensive potential under Devries: It was extremely frustrating all friggin year long to watch Conor Enright make a decisive move off of good offense, get in the lane, and thereafter have pretty much zero ability to do anything. Felt like there were tons of good shots that ended with Enright driving back out of the lane or passing out to shooters whose man never needed to leave them. I am a fan of Enright; he played his tail off and would have been an excellent third/fourth guard on a tournament team, but having him as the 30 mpg point guard on offense was a severe limitation on the team. I am hopeful that we get a guard or two that has the confidence and ability to take advantage of what the offense creates. -

There are going to be a ****-ton of Tennessee players in the portal if they keep that coach... or if they fire that coach. -
Ewww. If Altman couldn't get him to play hard I question who will be able to do so. Maybe he needs to walk in the footsteps of his twin Xavier Booker and get coached up by Angry Mick Cronin; He's done more with Booker than I thought possible. Considering it'll be a multi-million dollar contract, I'm hoping IU isn't the school that gives it a shot.

Would you reconsider if I told you it's "almost heaven?" -

My UF sophomore/college hoops junkie son before the Iowa game: "Terrible matchup for Florida. Huge style contrast is a wild card that evens things out." Dammit; I was hoping he was wrong. -
Non-snarky response: Yes; of course they still talk about IUBB. Snarky response: You are.
-
And that's why I am reasonably sure that we had a truly top of the top guy that felt that way about IU, but we were a year too late to get him.

Mark Pope's very talented team had a very negative reputation going into their game against Iowa State:

UF’s guards have been their weakest players. Fland had a great defensive game until Iowa’s last possession and then he really f’d up by letting Stirtz catch it on the run past the three point circle. And Lee clearly needed to stop and get a shot up. And Golden REALLY messed up that possession with 8.9 seconds left. Took Iowa 3.5 seconds to get a wide open shot.
-
No way. He’s much more likely going to be motivated to stick it to teams that have overlooked him.

I only filled out one bracket this year and that’s who I’ve got winning at all. Didn’t count on Jefferson being hurt, but if he comes back, look out.
